@TheAziker What difference does it make? It's a simple and great user interface. There are only four buttons that control the entire machine functions. The rest is done on your computer.

Also it's not a LED its an LCD.

From my standpoint reprap isn't that impressive either...

Any engineer can figure out how to take an existing technology/machine (aka FDM/Dimension) and break the parts down into smaller pieces so they can be printed.

Last time I looked reprap was bunch of printed plastic connectors held together with metal rods. In order to be impressive it would need to be completely printed with the exception of the electronics and extrusion head.

FDM technology has been around since the 80's

FDM is the most popular 3d printing technology. It may not give the highest resolution parts, but It WORKS.

Its ABS plastic. The parts are not as strong as ABS molded parts due to the layers being melted together, but sure you can use 3d printed parts for functional parts.

I can't get into detail here, but there are lots of software packages. Anything from free to thousands $ to animation to high end design software. Google "3d modeling software". Some software has tutorials and help forums. Also a good training book helps a lot.

I'm not sure how i stumbled upon it (I think I was looking for The Works by Pixar) but as I said, it was fun to watch. 3D printing is pretty cool stuff! You can't take a picture of something and then just print it. You need to create a 3D computer model of the object. This can be done by using a 3D scanner as well which basically takes a 3d object "scans" it and then makes a computer model.
