@TheAziker What difference does it make? It's a simple and great user interface. There are only four buttons that control the entire machine functions. The rest is done on your computer.
@team222badbrad I knooow, im just sayin how funny it is, and it doesnt make any difference, its funny because its an amazing machine, but it got a tiny LCD (thanks for the correction) screen :)
@peety1001 .....and can the printed 3D printer print a 3D printer and can the printed 3D printer just printed by the first printed 3D printer print another printer and .....
@ansar68pk The printer cannot print the 3d printer with the printers printer. If you print some printing with the 3d printer it prints the printers printing printables. Got it?
@peety1001 There's a project called RepRap in which they are designing open source 3d printers (extruders) that can produce lots of the parts for itself. The current version can print 60% of its parts!
@szuszi2 WTF ?! you cant , the printer make the objects with thousand of layers (i dont know what material is it) so i dont think so you can make thousands of metal layers
Unless this thing is able to reproduce a good percent of its own parts, this is not impressive at all compared to the all primitive model Reprap, which btw is "open source"! Yaaay!
From my standpoint reprap isn't that impressive either...
Any engineer can figure out how to take an existing technology/machine (aka FDM/Dimension) and break the parts down into smaller pieces so they can be printed.
Last time I looked reprap was bunch of printed plastic connectors held together with metal rods. In order to be impressive it would need to be completely printed with the exception of the electronics and extrusion head.
THIS IS COMPLETLY A REAL MACHINE THAT CAN MAKE 3D OBJECTS OF PLASTIC I KNOW CAUSE I HAVE SEEN ONE REALLY! Achitects using it to make 3D model of houses, and have you guys heard of the service: Make your World of Warcraft Character into a Sculpt??? It is how its made and the Spore sculpts too!
OMG, where do you guys live?? In middle age I gues, of course that stuff exists. It is mainly used for fast prototyping, there are also other 3D printers that use some liquid plastic, that hardens at the points where laser beams meet.
How can you people think this is fake. It is obviously real. Did you see the inside when he turned on the light. The switches might just have not come with labels. Many electronic appliances don't have labels on their power switches. Both of my computers don't.
no shit it was home made labels retard... most on off are... its not fake.. brad owns this (or so i think anyway) go to bedardpuzzles(.)com. theyre custom rubik's like puzzles. the builders created masters of pieces using printto3d (brad made for them and sent to them) and they casted multiple parts from this master. made a bunch of puzzles. ur fake.
Yes he built a gigantic machine with LED screens and moving mechanical parts for thousands of dollars just to fool people on youtube. You are right sir and not at all an idiot.
Its ABS plastic. The parts are not as strong as ABS molded parts due to the layers being melted together, but sure you can use 3d printed parts for functional parts.
hey team222badbrad, i liked watching your video. if i were to make an object regarding print to 3d, what would i need to do to send it to you guys? i know i need to make a CAD of it, but what's required in the CAD? does it have to be 2d or 3d?
THANKS. All I need is a virtual 3d model in the correct format. It needs to be 3D.
I can't get into detail here, but there are lots of software packages. Anything from free to thousands $ to animation to high end design software. Google "3d modeling software". Some software has tutorials and help forums. Also a good training book helps a lot.
that's nice overview of it. Could you tell me how much this machine cost? and what is the building cost by cubic inch including the suport material? oh just one more thing, what's the minimum wall thickness that can be built?
I'm not into 3D printing/prototyping but this video was fun to watch. I'm not sure how i stumbled upon it (I think I was looking for The Works by Pixar) but as I said, it was fun to watch. 3D printing is pretty cool stuff! And that's a hell of a machine (meaning it's good)! Do I dare to ask how much it costs?... to purchase it?... to maintain and supply materials for it?... how much does a little cup cost to produce? Keep up the good work!
You can't take a picture of something and then just print it. You need to create a 3D computer model of the object. This can be done by using a 3D scanner as well which basically takes a 3d object "scans" it and then makes a computer model.
