wow way too many haters here. for Gods sakes the man is in his 60's. forget the past. the past is the past. this is new, it sounds good to me. and new. he could have just retired years ago and done nothing. Kudos to him that music steers his soul and he can't put his guitar down. chill out you dumb f*cks
Whatever happened to the great stuff like Silvertown Blues and What it is. Those songs come from his solo days and hint of the master from Dire Straits. That's the sort of stuff I'd like to see more of - not the country-flavoured stuff. It's just not Mark!
@tdavieez well said, this just reminded me of something... yes, and Ritchie! stop the pseudo_Rennaissance crap, buddy, hide those silky lacy trousers away and finally get the led out!!
(whispering: can we really talk to them this way?)
I'm sorry... I can't lie or pretend. I've been a faithful MK fan for years now, he's definitely the most inspired and inspiring musician, singer and songwriter I've ever known, but... this song is shit. I mean, there is no melody, the beat is déjà-vu, there's a bit of everything in there and nothing really stands out. No flying guitar, no graceful voice, no endearing lyrics, no passion. It feels like he's said it all already. I'm really sad because I do not want him to go to waste. Wake up Mark!
Nice to hear these new songs from MK. I shall be seeing him live in a few days and can't wait. I hope that there are not idiots shouting "Hurry up Bob" as you can hear 5 seconds into this song. From what I have heard, the MK set is vastly superior to BD's part. Bob has to rely on volume- and all his songs sounds the same. I shall keep an open mind!

@killerchassis
He does not need to reform Dire Straits. His solo albums are magnificent.

Sad to have to say that about Mark Knopfler, but I don't like.
Very far from master pieces he created with Dire Straits...

Bigest MK and DS fan for years now but this song does not do justice to the man's talent. Could he be running out of tunes now?
