Nice video, interesting to see the vortex generator doing its work!! Cant stand those post-takeoff annoucements. Every airline is guilty of this. Im not against *safety* announcements but that needless nonsense drives you bonkers!

As a Chicagoan and one who has flown this route, I really enjoy this video. I have been flying Lufthansa since I was a kid, and to me, they are the gold standard: the highest professionalism and piece of mind in the air. Lufthansa Rocks!!!

Not exactly sure but I belive its because it isnt a neccesary stopping component for the plane and also if they make a tocuh and go they wount have to be disarmed.

@PAY6453 Spoilers are THE most necessary component in stopping an airplane as they interrupt the lift. Especially in bad weather (wet runway), it is vital that the aircraft is slammed on the runway and lift is taken from the wings asap, which is the spoilers purpose. In good weather, spoilers on large planes go up gradually to ensure a smoother landing.

@naisi but for some long runways, the spoiler is just proportional b'coz it's just an air brake system... but necessarily for heavy aircraft

I also love the A346, but it has a really bad climb rate as I used to fly the A340.

I now fly the Boeing 777-200ER for BA.

A340-200/300 climb because of the curves of the earth, the -500/600 are great climbers however!! :)
