I actually like this version of the song rather than 39 Steps' official studio recording of the song. This version reminds me of the great CLICK, CLICK, CLICK by Graham Coxon.
Are you kidding? The version on their album of the same name is killer, way better than this movie version. I think the version they did for the video of this song is better than this too. It's on YouTube somewhere. Check it out.
Are you kidding me? This is a real band? I always thought the band was purposely bad and cliched to show the ridiculous scene Wiest's character was involved in, post punk rich kids hanging out in CBGB's snorting coke, and how she comes to mature and develop until she marries Woody at the end.
C'mon! This is fragile neurotic Peg Boggs at a rock concert snorting cocaine! Well-deserved Oscar.

I use his "meltdown" comment whenever I have to listen to some crappy local band.

Dianne WIEST is a BEAST! Her best role is Helen Buckman in Parenthood (the Ron Howard movie upon which the current NBC show is based).

This live performance is more interesting that the official release.

In the next scene he takes her to a nightclub where a duo is playing Cole Porter songs.

This is a better performance than the version on the record, but at least on the record you don't have to listen to Woody's incessant whining.
