  • ive been taking the pill for 2 months and ive gained weight and have a lot of fatigue is there another type of pill that wont make me feel like this?

  • I started taking the pill and I couldn't sleep! the doctor gave me meds that he promised would work...it didn't do a darn thing but give me headaches. i was getting 2 to 3 hours of sleep for 3 months straight! so i stopped the pill and am looking for a different form of birth control.

  • I've been on the depo shot for a while now and i love it. <3

  • can you get pregnant before you get your period (i just want to no and btw im on my period)

  • I was on Depo Provera for six months and I gained 50 pounds, was incredibly depressed and lost my sex drive completely.

When I switched to Alesse hoping it would be a lighter drug, I suffered from a minor stroke and have permanent visual obstructions in my left eye.

Birth control is NOT natural and NOT worth it.

It wacks out your system, everything revolves around your hormones.

My personal opinion is I would rather wear condoms or even have a kid than have another stroke...raise awareness.

  • I've been taking the pill for a month and a week now. Since, I have this nautious feeling that seems to start in the beginning of the pack. Even now, I feel the urge to puke. I just started a new job and simply cannot afford the nausea. I am not taking them anymore. After 7 years of depo I guess I'm going back. I stopped because my hair began falling out but I no longer feel it was related. Depo always worked for me and with my genes I never gained ANY extra pounds. But I could use it at 103ibs

  • Hmm, is it just me, or do you deliberatlity make pills sound like idea of the devil in this vid? No, seriously, I get that there's lots and lots of different kinds of side effects, but only seeing a vid like this (didn't found any positive video about oral birth control in your channel) doen't exactly inspire a girl to use them.... and in my books, no birth control is very very bad..

And befor you say "condoms" I kinda like not using them in committed relationship (we both been tested for STDs)

  • I was taking a super low estrogen pill for 5 months and continued to bleed every single month for half of the pack. My doctor switched me to a little higher estrogen and this problem stopped. I had no side effects except lower sex drive (which is fine because it is out of control in the first place). However, after 4 months of that I noticed i was getting a lot of freckles i never had before. my doctor told me it is melasma. It really makes me mad that this side effect is not mentioned often!

  • @DreamBiology - Why do girls seem to hate freckles so damn much ? I think theyre cute on majority of women.

  • I recently found out that I may have a yeast infection for multiple symptoms that are showing up, well after I did a little bit of research I found out that it could be caused by your partner (he got a test and came up negative), in my genes, or contraceptives. i was wondering if someone has had yeast infection after they started with they birth control. I am in with the patch (ortho evra)

    thank you

  • okay but if you just stop taking birth control pills because there are side affects how are you suppose to prevent pregnancy? condoms are not good enough.

  • @littleripper333 Try some other manufactorer or something. there's lots of different kind of pills around. A friend of mine got sick on the first one she tried and second didn't work either, but she kept looking and found one that didn't cause side effects. Some just don't work for all of us, but one should keep trying, cause like you said, just condoms aren't good enough. (and the get tireying in long relationship)

  • I started taking birth control and I didn't get my cramps anymore But I was a complete and utter bitch on it. I stopped obviously and got better. I also didn't eat alot and I slept too much. I was always tired.

  • I started taking birth control about a year ago, and I remember being very emotional for a while, then my body started getting used to it, but now I have a low sex drive :T

  • i had weight gain, no energy, depression, no sex drive, increased bleeding during periods, moodiness, hives triggered by stress, headaches, and visual disturbances. i stopped taking the pill after 3 months and switched to another low estrogen pill for another 3 months with the same side effects. i stopped taking them all together and it took 2 months before i felt myself again. i now use condoms

  • Cilest : very very bad depression

  • Sore breasts, depression, daily diarrhea, nausea, insomnia, moodyness, my fears increased, unable to orgasm. I tried two different pills the first ones were really bad and when I changed they seemed to go away and I thought the second ones were right for me. Later I realised I still had side effects and stopped eating them. Now I'm happier and heathier. We use a condom now, we are getting married in two weeks and may start trying for kids sometime after that.

  • Weight gain, headaches and excuciating abdominal pain during the stop week.

Also, my six-week cycle got reduced to four weeks, but my rather bad PMS did not go away. I stopped taking the pill and now just started Implanon. Here's hoping it works.

  • My doctor originally told me that birth control has minimal side effects and that women who say they gained weight on the pill are just trying to find something to blame it on so I didn't think it was the pill that made me gain 20 pounds in the first 6 months. When I started taking the pill, I weighed 130 pounds. When I ultimately decided to quit taking them, I weighed 180 and noticed I had less headaches and was less emotional, depressed, and moody. I'll never go back on the pill again

  • tell me somthing about hypospermia and its causes and symptoms

  • I'm on birth control now and I have had some spotting with cramps during the first and sixth month. However, that went away and things seem to be fine now. I'm still worried about the weight gain, though. The doctor said it was just water weight and I think she is right because my weight goes back down when I am in the placebo stage of the pill. She said to keep track of your average weight and make sure that your lowest weight is still where it was before you started the pill.

  • i had dizziness, heavy headaches throughout days and nights, insomnia, pains everywhere, depression, lack os sex drive, i was angry and crying all the time. turned out the doctor gave me something too strong, so he switched me on something light and it all went away. Not i just have a tiny bit of sadness evey now and then and maybe won't have sex every day. like a day our of 3.

when u know something's wrong, you have to tell your ginecologist to switch it. you just have to!

  • Birth control for guys? Is it true?

  • I haven't started bc yet but I use condoms a lot (Male and female). I have had a friend that took the DEPO Shot but it ended up making it hard on her. She gained a lot of weight, her fallopian tubes twisted up, and another friend who had the depo shot kept getting pregnant while on it and then miscarrying. I'm a bit skeptic about the shot. But as a question what is the lowest but safest dose of birth control to take and when used with other forms is it safe?

  • I'm actually on brith control, BUT... Its a shot. Not a pill, a shot. They have it in a liquid form and shot it into me like giving a needle shot. It lasts for 3 months until I have to get the next one. I'm still on the first cycle and so far I don't FEEL any effects from it so far, however I did notice unexpected spotting for a while and there's no telling when it stops; I did call and they said it depends on the person's body. Incase you don't know yet, there's birth control for guys too.

  • Every oral birth control pill I've ever taken (and believe me, I've taken 7 different kinds) has made me projectile vomit until I'm dehydrated and can barely move. Even the lowest dosages make me sick.

  • As odd as it may sound, certain herbs or teas can also affect these pills. Saint John's Wort, for instance, should not be consumed while on birth control pills as it can neutralise their effect.

  • I use oral birth control and I actually have worse effects when I am not on it. As soon as I stop taking it, or take the "fake" pills, for the time that I get my period, I feel horrible. I am nauseous and get such severe headaches that I end up stuck in a dark room to cope. I take them because I have endometriosis, so I also have severe menstrual pain when I don't use it... so bad I will faint and vomit often. So I definately am better off using it.

  • I used to get rashes and just very itchy all over on the pill. I stopped taking it and it stopped, it was hell. :/ So I switched to the shot and everything's been good. :)

  • What about the birth control shit? Depo-provera?

  • I've switched pills like 3 times now.. I started taking BC to control my period but it does the exact opposite. The pill I'm on now though Low Ogestrel works fairly well.. I very rarely get nauseas and when I do I just drink ginger ale. I've only had maybe.. 1 or 2 breaks throughs which have lasted 2 weeks.. but other then that its been smooth sailing. So I would recommend it for that reason.. and not for preventing pregnancy, use a condom every time! Just my opinion anyway. [=

  • bleeding between my periods, but my periods are every 3 months, i can live with that :P

  • really made me rethink birth control.

  • I had been on birth control for almost 5 years when my doctor switched me to a new pill to control my cramps. While my craps got better, I suddenly developed motion sickness where I had to pullover while driving. I quickly switched to something new and this time I experienced migraines, insomnia, lack of libido, and nausea. By that point I was so fed up with the side effects that I just stopped taking them. I got back on a new pill a few months later, but having never ending side effects

  • my periods are still the same from when i wasnt even on the pill. wth? they are still so long

  • Had some nousia first few days and some mood changes that desapearend after about week or two

  • There is a list of side effects like that because crazy women get sick or feel sick due to hypochondriasis and blame the pill. They list all of these so they don't get sued. By putting anything foreign into your body, there is a chance that there will be a side effect, and by foreign I mean any food, medicine, drinks, drugs, etc. As well, the pill doesn't throw your hormones into whack, it actually regulates your hormones and therefore removes PMS, the worst of acne, heavy/irregular periods etc.

  • it's probably not worth it,

I can't wait to see the side effect of the male birth control pill when it come out.

  • increased risk of cancer, that's the side effect... look it up on the tiny leaflet!

  • women over the age of 40 have highiers risk of blood clots etc on the pill so its not recomended 40.i do get nausea when i take the first pill of the pack, this is becuase they didnt tell me that they contain lactose, and im lactose intolerant and so have to control the amount i eat to stop anymore nausea i just stop eating laxtose when on the pill.. I do end up crying of small things when i never used to but apart from that, id say no weight gain and nothing has effected my sex drive either.

  • Don't any of you guys look these things up before asking Dan and Jen? Because I'm pretty sure they just look it up before making a video Lolol. Your on a computer and you don't know how to look up information..? Really? LOL

  • So pill no take because I'm on antibiotics.
