  • wow.. cool .. so well just sit there? lol

  • does anyone know when this technology will be practically available? like in 10 years maybe?

  • in capitalist Russia you drive the car

  • This shit will suck

  • In Soviet Russia, people are gay, stfu it's not even funny anymore

  • people just suck at driving, that's why you all like the idea of self driving cars

  • THE

    GOVERNMENT

    AND CORPORATIONS

    CAN

    NOW

    DRIVE

    YOUR

    CAR.

  • I love this idea, think about all those moms out there who could really deal with the kids not having to worry about driving. Also, there would be an end to DUI's in the USA, if that's not worth having these cars moving on our American roads I don't know what is.

It would be cool to watch a DVD with a snack at hand all the way home from work or even take a nap. Now that would be a dream come true for most hard working Americans.

We all need to push to get this car on the road and fast.

  • I don't drive. It's pretty much ruined my life, so I hope one day before I am dead, and I still have a little bit of life left in me, these things come out so maybe I can finally start to live a little. *cue in violin* :-(

  • I'd rather have the TARDIS than a self-driving car, thanks....

  • @Hadreleii Your_Comment > /dev/null/

  • @togab0y Aw, come on, man/woman/boy/girl/sir/ma'am/any other way you would like being addressed! I made a dumb joke about a similarly geeky television show. I could have said it was "fake and gay" or any number of other, usually misspelled slurs. Let me have my idiotic fun. Please? If you want a real opinion, I don't see the point of Google making self-driven cars. In fact, I see no point in self-driven cars, but saying all of that isn't any fun.

  • @Hadreleii Can I have your addy so I can send you that tardis, so that the rest of us can have this wonderful new self driving car. Think about an end to DUI's and allowing those people who worked a overnight shift to nap on their way home with out falling alseep behind the wheel and kill others on the road.

Think about the greater good these car could do and stop thinking about yourself.

    You know you can also drive this car if you choose so it works both ways;

  • @greatshebear Believe me; I know I've made a stupid joke. It is indeed a stupid joke that sounds very self-centered, though I didn't mean it in that way. Self-driving cars have their merits, but they do make me a little leery having technology drive something, even if drunk drivers are just as much of a hazard. I really hope that, if this ever becomes the norm, people still know how to drive in case something goes wrong. I apologize for offending you.

  • @Hadreleii No problem. Its just that I've been joking about having a car like this for years and here it is.

I agree people should know how to drive even if these car do know how to drive themselves.

As far as it becomeing a normal way of gettng around town, I sure hope it does.

One day I will be too damn old to drive myself around and it would be great to know that my car can be programed to take me where I want to go without having to depend on anyone else.

  • I want to see it doing platooning, 1 google car in the lead doing what it normally does, 3 or 4 google cars tailgating really close together, as close as possible, if the tires are good then their instant reaction times should allow just a few inches between them.

  • Now give it a Voice with a British accent!

  • finally human invented robot now a auto drivin car? human life's now soooo lazy i think in the future robotics will rule the world.anyway two word left.... KNIGHT RIDARRR!

  • Dear Santa....

  • @guigs219 who is responsible if your brakes fail?

  • In Soviet Russia, car drives you

  • @W1ldmutt

No1 drives that car, so you cant use it.

  • Hi guys I found this really interesting thing on driverless car, it is titled :

The car that thinks: The thinking car or mindless junk?

I found it at MyCarMyChoice (dot) com under tech funda.... I bet it's interesting!

  • the future is now

  • the brakes won't work.

  • The Autopilot System. I don't expect that it will be developed that fast.

  • Comment removed

  • @xaviqaz Technology is creating more jobs.

  • @Freshhhhh1982 technology is creating more jobs by taking them away

  • nice way to deliver a car bomb... wake up homeland security.

  • People are acting like its hard work to drive anyway. Its almost no diffrent, its actully safer.

  • And now to promote the year 2214... The Google Walkitself! Never walk again let the google walk-it bot do it for you... americas gonna turn into that wall-e movie

  • @DEBpoppop lol!

  • @DEBpoppop Which is awesome!

  • just a question if something is run by computer that usually means that hackers can control it as well

  • @fenyx2709

hackers will need a connection to the car its self, if all it does with its connection if it has one is send and receive information to global positioning satellites with an encrypted connection i don't see a fear in hackers, i how ever see a fear in corrupt memory causing the system to crash and component failure. You would also need a few backup systems and systems that check the current system in use for errors.

  • with this technology we can fire those obnoxious truck drivers and bus drivers.

  • Is that a Toyota Prius in there? O___O

  • It will be safer with a Driver. I'm sure.

  • Reliable technology? Yeah... reliable to TURN ON US WHEN THEY GET SMART ENOUGH U MORONS!

  • @Lou510Guy This is real life, not a movie, technology doesn't suddenly develop feelings, and try to exterminate the human race.

  • @MarrkDaviid

    gizmodo( )com/5016312/britain-launches-final-real+life-skynet-satellite-dubs-it-skynet-with-no-sense-of-irony

  • i, Robot is so totally coming true.

  • @MarkBTW Yeah I thought that too :-) I want also to drive like Will Smith in iRobot !

  • Awesome, Now I can sniff coke off strippers tits on the way to the strip club!

  • fuck man, i love technology, but this looks sketchy

  • I don't trust it.

  • who wouldn't want their personal chauffeur?

  • w w w.tren.gen.tr

Here is my Brother in Turkey/Ankara. He invented Intelligent Gear Box Driverless Train. Take a look. "you need close the gap between the w's when you paste on address bar. and select English.

  • Apparently, the choice was made because of the fuel efficiency of Toyota Prius. A Prius would provide way more mpg on highway than most other cars, allowing Google authorities to conduct the test for longer time periods.

  • Comment removed

  • WTF? Even the chase car is a Prius. Reflection at 0:34

  • So i guess the Terminator movies were real. Google is Skynet, and is now building self controlled robots. Can't imagine how the world will turn to in a couple of years, with Google.

  • Jesus I thought he said "Darma"

  • Send one into area 51.

  • I'm ecstatic that the technology has finally reached this level of sophistication, but I can't help but fear that someday, when driverless cars are commonplace, governments will probably make them mandatory, and insurance companies will charge you out the ass if you make the choice to NOT utilize the driverless option. A lot of people take therapeutic enjoyment from driving, and I hope they don't get left in the lurch.

  • @RationalDischarge

With all due respect to those people who enjoy driving...but I HATE it. Scares the hell out of me.

  • @RationalDischarge

A very good option in my opinion would be to let people drive, but as soon as the computer detects that a crash is within seconds away it would take over.

  • One day Google will buy USA and UK FOR 3€ and nobody will do nothing for it.

  • I hope Microsoft wont be involved in such thing,

cuz if the car system HANGS ---- > bye bye

  • any ways, this really doesent matter, as this tech is going for the military and supply convoys,no one besides the super rich will be able to buy one.

  • wow poeple dont even wanne drive nomore the future is gon be lazy as fuck

  • @LloyraG

Do you hunt your food? Do you make your own clothes? Do you live in a cave? Why not? Are you lazy like the rest of us?

  • that technology is clearly flawed. it wasnt even in the middle of the lane. it was swerving around. screw google for endangering innocent drivers with this unready technology

  • @todd3293

It probably drives better than you do.

  • @todd3293 It was a test... not the final product.

  • @ShadeRange2007 You can easily program enough safety into it that it would slow down and not crash if there is a malfunction. This technology is very feasible. There is a group at my university that is working on a blind driver car. This stuff is great.

  • 2010 toyota corolla has constand serious production issues such as a sticking gas pedal....

what happens when vehicles are built to be driverles...

hate to say it but even worse than some people physically driving vehicels.

  • @snowboardloser

Really? I read somewhere the only accident these driverless cars has been in, was a person driving a car and rear ending the driverless cars

  • @snowboardloser

That is one confined example. To me it speaks how reliable today's techonology can be.

  • OMG, IT'S SKYNET!!! I've had my shotgun ready since my birth in 1990 lol

  • will you stopping being a paranoid public?

christ, if people keep at like they are today, the future of driver less car will go the way of the futuristic dream atomic American of the 50s and 60s...the way of the dodo bird.

if we keep on bitching about this, the gov will kill this innovation with so much red tape!

if we let google have their ways among other companies, drivers will be mostly obsolete in 50 years!

50 years is not that far away!

the 80s were over 30 years ago.

  • I would love to sit in the passenger seat after a night of drinking and have my car drive me home, lmao.

  • well its official 2012 is when google will turn into skynet

  • soon Apple wd start work on its iCar, unless its already doing so in secret. that wd b more fun for the iSlaves.

  • @yourtube20061 stop being such an iCynic.

  • lazy people

  • Yes, but how will they be writing us tickets? The most important purpose of ticketing is to take our money. With these cars cities budgets will starve! LOL.

  • First they beat us in chess, I didn't speak up because it was leet.

Then they learned to walk up right, I didn't speak up cuz T2 was movie.

Now they can drive better than us, the end is nigh.

  • google is going to take over the world

  • I oppose "Driveless" Trains, too.

  • Call me crazy, but I completely trust these cars. You know the lawsuits Google'd face if they weren't completely safe? These things are being invented by geniuses, and they're the way of the future. The only accident that's come of these cars is a human driver rear ending one at a stop light.

  • @makeitso6174 So true, they should just admit that robots are awesome and give them a little more control

  • @makeitso6174 Stfu you got that from sxephil.

  • @XNlTEMAREX sxephil is right then, isn't he?

  • WTF. I DO NO T WANT TO SHARE THE ROAD WITH THAT THING.

  • They have two peole present in the car when testing on open roads. One at the drivers seat in case something goes wrong and one recording info

  • Comment removed

  • y would u test something like that on an open road

  • @kidpoes That's the only place you can test it.

  • We will probably never become contained blobs of protoplasm administered to by AI devices. Maybe it's inevitable. Now you can get really toasted and not have to worry about being dangerous. It's just some groundbreaking new stuff. Who knows what'll come of it?

  • This has nothing to do with lazy, it's about safety. Think about the day we don't live in fear of female drivers.

  • @lpknights HEY! Be nice, they are very well trained animals. How dare you...

  • @lpknights

or they day us men can go out an get wasted without thinking about getting a designated driver THIS IS THE FUTURE lolz

  • @lpknights you forgot to mention the saftey from other asian drivers as well

  • @lpknights lmfao sexest ;)

  • I LOVE GOOGLE SMARTEST PEOPLE IN THE WORLD

  • great now nerds can steal your car without breaking the rule , all they have to do is hack in to your bmw

  • Hax0r pl0x

  • @bigboi8720 umadbro?

  • @CenaPaulandSeth madder than ur father finding out u were a faggot

  • It would be all fine and dandy until someone hacks your car or something and sends you barreling into a wall or pylon at 100mph. Also you could have a malfunction like with the electronic accelerator on Toyotas, wouldn't that be just hunky dory. Guess it would be good for assassinations access the driver controls via satellite and send the cars occupants to a fiery death... Do I don't think I want an automatic driver.

  • @ShadeRage2007 Then we will construct additional pylons!

  • @hiiamtwyg I doubt you have the cognitive capacity, to even begin to do so. Why do I say that? Because clearly you do even have enough intelligence to grasp even the most basic of concepts. Read my reply to skybluesky I had to explain it out for him too.

Do you people even comprehend what you read? Yes I know I had one type on the last sentence but shesh.......

  • @ShadeRage2007 TL:DR

  • @ShadeRage2007 I am still 100% sure it will cause significantly fewer deaths than drunk, high, distracted and careless drivers.

  • @ShadeRage2007 schizophrenic much?

  • @skybluesky No, don't you ever ask questions instead of taking things at face value. I think I raised valid concerns... Would the system be vulnerable to hacker attacks? Would it be connected to service like Onstar and if so would they be able to assume control of the car? And last would be how prone this system would be to malfunction? Three valid points that went way above your head apparently, you were to focused on the rhetoric instead of the content of my last post.

  • @ShadeRage2007

oh my god, we should never build any t gas stations because terrorist could kill people!

i bet you would trust a machine than 1/2 of the people on the road these day

  • @captinseperoth There are a wide range of things that could cause problems with this type of technology. Electromagnetic interference, Geomagnetic storms, Solar Flares, Damaged circuitry from the normal heating and cooling of your car or humidity, are just a few things that can cause electronic components to go bad or become damaged and malfunction. I repair electronics, a damaged resistor or a blown capacitor and they quit working right it doesn't take much.

  • @ShadeRage2007 redundancy

  • @ShadeRage2007 Same with people, all it takes is a sneeze, an illness, a fit, a wandering mind, a lapse in judgement a wasp down the back, sleepyness. But a combination of both human and machine would be a great achievement

  • @ShadeRage2007

What happened before Onstar was around?

    Also couldn't Onstar be hacked?

  • @linearvermin Onstar has been hacked, and the government has also used it to track people. That was the point that I have been trying to make in my nearly 10 posts on this topic.

  • This is a fucking joke and a waste of time!!!

  • @pvtjamesryan3

    Much like you then really?

  • ......

  • There really is no need for the idiotic "lazy Americans" statement.

  • Darpa? from Metal Gear?

  • If anything comes out of this maybe it can prevent drunk drivers from getting behind the wheel and let the computer drive them home.

  • lazy Americans...you don't even need to click "Enter" on Google anyone.

  • @klyzn It's about the convenience dude. Here's a good question though. Why would you NOT want the convenience of having a computer chauffeur?

  • @klyzn hahaha

  • err that 'driverless car' had 3 people in it ...?

  • @gregapage Yes, but the weren't driving!

  • @gregapage Err, doesn't mean they were driving...?

  • Imagine a car that drove around collected people to take them to the train or a boat link them with an air craft you hop the first thing smoking that the w W w tells you to and you get where you need? This might be the link needed to make public transportation affordable and practical no French driver to go on strike and no stupid mistakes like driving in front of a speeding train.

  • So , israel is getting ready for its big war , with robots .

  • Great... now Google is in the military business.

  • @12GaugeLosAngeles well, it is a 20 million dollar grant if you win one of their "unmanned atv" contests.

  • @12GaugeLosAngeles And Neon genisis Evangelion has been developed in Japan(No shit, search mind controlled robot)

  • when will we get cars that can float in mid air

  • @irelandcool1 When they can do so for less fuel than the average commuter.
