I absolutely adore all the Handel she has done (Siroe, Il Piacere, Tirinto, Tauride, Arsamene, etc..). It's baffling to me that she doesn't sing more meaty parts such as Ariodante or Giulio Cesare and so unfair that she hasn't recorded a Handel recital disc yet. That said, here, I find the tempo too fast. She can clearly sing coloratura so marvelously, but even then, she sounds rushed by the conductor. In fact, all the other numbers from Orlando in this concert were the fastest I've ever heard.

Proud to be rater #1, especially for Ann Hallenberg. There is not enough videos of her on YouTube. Also, it's nice to see a picture of here looking so feminine, after watching her doing Arsamene in Xerxes, where she did an entirely superb job of that role. I must say, I wasn't too crazy about Va Tacito UNTIL I HEARD ANN'S VERSION. It sounded so good! She has such a sweet voice and excellent control, not to mention she's perfectly in tune (that not to be underestimated). BRAVISSIMA!

YES, Ann Hallenberg is so talented, there's just everything is in the right place in her interpretations. And even the most difficult runs sound PLEASANT, not like a machine gun.
For me she's one of the major reasons for my baroque opera addiction. I'm really happy about your upload, I was actually in this performance, but didn't get a recording.

I agree she´s talented but she lacks the deep sound of a real contralto.. where is Mingardo when you need her?

She is actually listed as a MEZZO. Although, at the beginning I was hearing more or less a soprano until I adjusted the sound on my computer. Furthermore I heard recordings (the "Va tacito") through her website, not through YT and it's amazing how much better the sound is. That is much deeper.

I don't want to receive credit for uploading videos, because I haven't yet. You might be thinking of mariandelochs. But you put it well regading "everything" being "in the right place". She is such a machine of surgical precision, yet she still has the human expression that grabs your heart and mind and draws you to favor her over many others.
