  • Vegetables=Side dish. Meat=Main course.

  • Oh Pulease....

  • Can you show me some documentation of the diets he was studying? In the video,it was stated that the people he was studying were eating large a mounts of animal protein.I have not been able to find this information.

    Thanks

  • vegetarian/vegan vs OMIVORE both are good and bad.

I'd say it depends on the body (some people do better with more protein and some people do better in vegan diet but a lot benefit with vegetarian (no animal food) or 10% or less meat) (avoiding grains/sugar/processed food/chemicals/stress)

SO vegetarian diet isn't for everyone but works for A LOT OF PEOPLE. P. S. Beware: soy ain't safe say many health people

  • carnivore: has claws - herbivore: no claws - human: no claws

carnivore: perspires through tongue - herbivore: perspires through pores - human: perspires through pores

carnivore: sharp teeth no molars - herbivore: molars no sharp teeth - human: molars no sharp teeth

carnivore: intestines 3x body length - herbivore: intestines 10x body length - human: intestines 12x body length

carnivore: strong stomach acid - herbivore: 20x weaker stomach acid - human: 20x weaker stomach acid

    seems obvious.

  • @thejustineaster Wombats are herbivores with claws, just to take a single example. Our evolution gave us very complex systems for grabbing and using tools. Hence, no need for claws since both our killing and our digging needs are met in other ways. Humans have shredding molars, not completely flat grinders. Jaw movement is a crushing up and down, not a sideways grinding motion. The intestine to body length ration is 1:5 for obligate carnivores, 1:7 for humans and 1:27 for sheep

  • @thejustineaster Both human and carnivores stomach acidity is strong, have a capacity of apx.4 pints, both humans and carnivores digestive activity are 100% from the pancreas with a very high efficiency. Both humans and carnivores have intermittent feeding habits. herbivores continuously 'graze' throughout the day. etc etc... yeah it is actually pretty obvious once you get into the real science of it. We have more in common with obligate carnivores than we do herbivores.

  • @thejustineaster So those who say that we are likely a hunting/Scavenging omnivore are probably right. Meaning, we can survive (survive!) on plant foods for prolonged periods of time, but judging by the size and function of our appendix that in part makes it possible, it appears that this is an emergency back-up system when real food (food that has sentient parents) is in short supply. You can survive on a vegan diet today IF you take a bunch of processed supplements.

  • @thejustineaster But then again. The food source, all our food source, is of such a shitty quality that everybody would probably do well taking supplements regardless of their chosen diet. Soooo....My argument is that from natures side we are not herbivores or even close to it. But our amazing tool making brain and useful hands makes it possible today even if we dont strictly speaking, have the biology for it. There is a reason that vegan societies are scarce through history.

  • @manonapedistal @manonapedistal well i won't say you didn't make a few good points, but you're mostly incorrect and need to review your sources of data. vegans statistically live 6 years longer than meat eaters, and many studies have shown people with both omnivore and herbivore diets take in twice the amount of protein necessary, with or without supplements. humans lack the sharp canine teeth designed for tearing flesh that are characteristic of all carnivores. meat-eating animals generally

  • @thejustineaster "vegans statistically live 6 years longer than meat eaters". Vegans also statistically are less likely to smoke, drink soft-drinks, consume excessive amounts of refined sugars and grains and are a more body health oriented crowd than the general population they were compared against. To single out meat in a statistical study with so many obvious variables seems pretty biased.

  • @thejustineaster "humans lack the sharp canine teeth designed for tearing flesh". No we don't. We have shredder molars (as opposed to flat grinders) and our jaw movement is one of tearing and crushing. Have you ever tried to bite the inside of your cheek? I have. it hurts like "%¤&" and my teeth went through my own flesh like it was butter.

  • @manonapedistal swallow their food without chewing it, so they require neither molars nor sideways moving jaws, which we do have. (move your jaw around - it goes side to side too.) the human hand is much better suited to harvest than kill prey.

once it has been swallowed, meat requires digestive juices high in hydrochloric acid to break it down. the stomachs of humans produce less than 1/20 of the acid produced by the average carnivore. humans are only intermittent when they eat meat,

  • @thejustineaster "humans produce less than 1/20 of the acid produced by the average carnivore" The normal pH range for stomach acid is between 1.5 and 3.5. Meat is almost fully digested with very little waste. Unless you prefer hard cooked meat, in which case your body will break down the burned stuff about as well as it does wood.

  • @manonapedistal which takes far greater energy to digest than do many other protein-rich foods. we eat much more often without meat, and gain far less fat, have no cholesterol, seldom have heart disease, and are at far less risk for cancer - if we have a vegan diet. and if you are educated about what you eat, you don't need supplements.

one of the only accurate things you said was once you get down to the science of it, it is indeed obvious.

  • @thejustineaster Most of the "protein rich foods" from the plant kingdsom have proteins that are encapsuled in plant fiber which we are entirely unable to break down. Keeping weight on a meat heavy diet is not a problem. Only if you eat refined grains and sugar as well. As evident by the "Paleo" fad. Vegans can be overweight too, you can live on a diet of white bread with jam and pass for a 'vegan'. To single out meat with so many other obvious variables is ignorantly biased IMO

  • @thejustineaster There is no reason to be frightened of cholesterol. The link to CVD are flimsy. I know of atleast 2 tests where have scientists looked at 2 groups. One with a diet heavy in saturated fat and above "normal" weight and another which is its opposite. Time and time again it is demonstrated that the death rate (from any cause) in both groups are roughly the same perhaps even slightly tilted in the favor of the people eating plenty of saturated fats.

  • @thejustineaster If I decided to become vegan tomorrow and only eat local foods, such as was the case with my forefathers, I would die soon. A vegan diet is possible today because of human accomplishment. You can get your goji's flown in from China, Avocados from Mexico etc..

  • @thejustineaster This is an important point to consider IMO. if we are trying to narrow down the 'natural diet' of humans. Even in places where vegetation seems plentiful, game meat is still the most priced food among simple civilizations. It is not because they have a cultural idea about meat, it is because meat keeps them alive and they know this the hard way. Veg*nism is a branch on 'humanitarianism' and a luxury position you can only have in a civilization of plenty.

  • @manonapedistal i feel the need to refine your statement based on these severe logical and factual flaws.

    1. our so-called "canine teeth" are canine in name only. other plant-eaters (like gorillas, horses, and hippos) have "canines", and chimps, who are almost exclusively vegan, have massive canines compared to ours. just because they can pierce your cheek doesn't mean they are designed for meat. our canines are short and blunted; carnivores and omnivores are long, sharp, and curved.

  • @thejustineaster "our canines are short and blunted" ..But our molars are fitted with a crown with cusps.

  • @manonapedistal

    3. the plant fiber we don't break down is good for you. insoluble fiber adds bulk to your stool, which can help ease constipation. the american heart association recommends that you get at least 25 g of fiber each day.

eating lots of meat increases the chances of dying prematurely of cancer and heart disease; it's not hard at all to find this data, and it isn't just cholesterol, it's the kind of cholesterol. it has indeed been linked, time and time again, with meat and dairy.

  • @thejustineaster "the plant fiber we don't break down is good for you" --and by the same measure, so is rockwool and wood.

"The AHA recommends that you get at least 25 g of fiber each day". They also recommend cocoa puffs.

"eating lots of meat increases the chances of dying prematurely of cancer and heart disease; it's not hard at all to find this data". It is hard to find controlled studies.

  • @manonapedistal

    4. you would only die becoming vegan if you at white bread and jam, like you mentioned. the notion that vegans can only survive from foreign imports is sorely ill-informed. sure you can still get fat eating vegan, but that usually pertains to animal rights folks who don't care about their health. those people obviously don't dabble in biology, which is the base of our discussion, and the source of most of your errors. again, i highly recommend you recheck your sources.

  • @manonapedistal our early ancestors from at least four million years ago were almost exclusively vegetarian. examination of the dental remains of these ancient cultures provides clear evidence that the natural human diet is starch based. the animals most similar to us, the other primates, eat an almost exclusively vegan diet (and their main non-plant food often isn't meat, it's termites). we sleep about the same amount of time as other herbivores, and less than carnivores and true omnivores.

  • @thejustineaster "our early ancestors from at least four millions years ago..." is completely irrelevant to homo sapiens.

  • @manonapedistal the most common cause of choking deaths is eating meat. real carnivores and omnivores don't have that problem. our saliva contains carbohydrate digesting enzymes, carnivores' don't. our incisors are broad and flat, our canines are short and blunted, our molars are flattened with cusps, carnivores' teeth are nothing like this (please look it up). our mouth opening vs. head size is small, carnivores is large. our major jaw muscles are masseter and pterygoids,

  • @manonapedistal carnivores' are the temporalis. our jaw motion is side to side, front to back, carnivores' is shearing. our jaw joint location is above the plane of the molars, carnivores' is on the same plane. our jaws are at an expanded angle, carnivores' aren't. our facial muscles are well developed, carnivores' are reduced to allow a wide mouth gape. our intestine length is at least twice as long, our colons longer and sacculated, our liver cannot detoxify vitamin a, i could do this all day.

  • @thejustineaster Man and carnivore has incisors in both jaws, both has ridged molars, both has vertical jaw movement with little or no mastication, both needs interdigestive rest, has no bacteria or protozoa present in the stomache, both has strong gastric acid, both are incapable of digesting cellulose, both have weak digestive activity. Both has short and small colon, a tiny caecum with no function, both have putrefactive bacteria in the colon and a small volume of feces

  • @thejustineaster Both man and Carnivore has a well developed gall bladder, both our digestive activity are solely from the pancreas, both have intermittent eating habits etc... I can go on all day too.

  • @manonapedistal both have brains, lungs, and bladders. the similarities are irrelevant when the point is quite simply about the vast differences. humans are more like herbivores than carnivores or omnivores, plain and simple. that has been my point, and you're still failing to refute it. the amount of stubborn stupidity you're displaying is at the very least disheartening. are you actually trying to suggest that fiber is bad for people? again, LOOK UP HUMAN/CARNIVORE DENTAL COMPARISONS.

  • @thejustineaster "..vast differences"... are not very vast when it comes to humans and carnivores, or perhaps rather, hunting/scavanging omnivores. We have much more in common with the average carnivore than the average herbivore. Fiber is useless for people, like you stated yourself. It adds bulk to your shit, thats it.

  • @manonapedistal they're so incredibly different it's bluntly incompetent of you to persist about it. i won't attempt to educate you anymore, it's like talking to a fence post.

the american institute for cancer research and world cancer research fund stated that there is "convincing" evidence that red meat intake increases the risk for colorectal cancer. if it is convincing to them, it is convincing to me - along with most of the educated world.

  • @thejustineaster That is because you are entirely wrong and this fence post do not buy into your vegan propaganda because it knows better.

"The american institute for cancer research and world cancer research fund stated that there is "convincing evidence that red meat intake increases the risk blahblahblah"....they can take their statistical mumbojumbo and stuff it. CONTROLLED experiments or GTFO!

  • @thejustineaster Are there other places in which you feel appeal to authority work? What other governmental organizations should i believe because most of "the civilized" world believe in them. Pentagon?

  • @manonapedistal the seven countries study found a significant correlation between red meat consumption and risk of chd. data from the national health and nutrition examination survey showed consistent positive associations between meat consumption and bmi, waist circumference, obesity and central obesity. i'd love to continue spoon feeding you information, but you have a knack for reducing a substantial amount of evidence to not being "controlled enough" for you.

  • @manonapedistal the fact that there are literally hundreds of studies (even on wikipedia!) from all kinds of universities and health organizations linking meat with disease obviously weighs in heavily with the amount that you perceive to be uncontrolled, but the controlled data is readily available. you just have no desire to find it.

i haven't even touched on the repulsively inhumane treatment of animals that is rampant in the meat industry since our discussion has been biological in nature,

  • @manonapedistal but terms of health, the reasons for adopting a vegan diet are plentiful. meat eaters are content with defending their diet, whereas vegetarians are attempting to enlighten them. you stated that veganism is a luxury position you can only have in a civilization of plenty, which is dismally false. the truth is that meat eating is only required in areas where agricultural potential is limited, which has been demonstrated since the ever so relevant ancestors i brought up.

  • @thejustineaster Name me 1 or 2 long running developing civilizations on a vegan diet.

  • @manonapedistal despite being corrected about nearly a dozen points that you inaccurately stated, you are relentless in your misplaced sense of confidence and authority on the subject. unfortunately you are blatantly uneducated, starting with your position and logically working backwards. in the not too distant future, the position i am advocating will be well known fact and encouraged by medical and intellectual communities alike. someday you'll catch up, but

  • @thejustineaster Thats a funny thing to say now that Paleo is the next health fad and well supported with actual science like controlled experiments in which it beats veganism out of the water again and again. I was willing to believe you actually knew something and didnt just parrot the propaganda you had been fed for a while. But your interest in my person "you are, you do, you etc" show me that you are bluffing. Why focus on the player when the ball is right in front of you

  • @thejustineaster that is....unless you really don't know the game and just pretends because you read some of the China Study at some point. Quite frankly. Fuck off.

  • @manonapedistal i have lost interest in this redundantly pointless discourse.

    dumb on

ps - no, cocoa puffs is not on the list of 17 heart healthy cereals the aha recommends. wrong again.

  • @thejustineaster no they removed it, but use your google-fu and look at images. Many people pondered why AHA would recommend cocoa puffs. but the evidence that they did until they got called out is still there. "AHA cocoa puffs" just type that in google and watch

  • @manonapedistal you simply haven't done the research to prove a biological case of omnivorous humans. seriously, if you don't do some proper reading on this before commenting again i won't respond, as it's becoming a colossal waste of time.

  • Comment removed

  • I find it interesting how... most dieticians are women, but all these guys are men.

  • The guy talking at 1:50 is so wrong. He said that inuits are immune to heart disease? Inuits have the LOWEST life expectancy rates in North America! They are very overweight too! They are NOT an example of good health! Seriously, please stop telling bald faced lies!

  • @Skyrenx The Inuit *now* have the lowest life expectancy, but if you read the book he recommended by Dr. Weston A. Price, you'll see how indigenous people lived healthily and long. Nutrition and Physical Degeneration. A classic.

  • fun with liver come on your dreaming

  • respect to vegans and vegetarians for living those lifestyles, but to me humans are naturally omnivores. A lion's body is engineered to run on lots of meat, a gazelle's on mostly grass, and for us a mixed diet.

  • @samauripizzacats101 man is a frugivore

  • @TheJUNGLESURFER The fact that man eats meat and has done so for about a million and a half years says he's an omnivore. But those are just the facts.

  • @chubbypekingnese THATS RIGHT! ***FACTS*** Fuckin vegan faggots dont like to look at da facts

  • Sean's discussion in the 2nd minute is very similar to what my Ol' man's got going for him. My mother is starting to take a turn for the worse because she is so temperant and only gets like 5-6hours of sleep everyday whereas my dad, who is 60 and enjoys a magnificant appetite and 9 hours of sleep a day, can still whip my ass in a fist fight without blowing a sweat.

  • when cows are born they know whats in their future.

They go to school to become the best steak in the farm.

  • I like the 80/20 rule too. The body does have the capacity to remove toxins as long as you don't overwhelm it. And going out with friends and having beer and wings once in a while is important to me.

  • As soon as I heard the guy mention the consciousness of plants I knew this was HS (H for human). Anyone who does that is an animal slaughter excuser...I have zero use for such people's "information."

  • @quicksilver3x3

    We eat vegan humans raw..

  • @quicksilver3x3 well said

  • @TheJUNGLESURFER Thank you.

  • @TheJUNGLESURFER Ooops, replied from my other channel, sorry :-)

  • David Wolfe isn't an "expert". The Health movement, just like religion, has false prophets and hyped talkers that really don't know what they're talking about. Where is Dr Douglas Graham? Mercola isn't accurate either. If the experts are all meat-eaters then where are the TOP of the top Raw Vegans? Such as Harley Johnston and Michael Arnstein?

  • @AndrewJ26 i know they addressed some of that. a lot of top vegan experts were called but didn't respond. This was also a more complete program put on by Kevin Gianni, who is very into raw food veganism. Sean is just giving you some of the facts from his perspective.

  • I disagree big time

  • I think sally Fallon made the best defense for eating meat and animal products. We absolutely need those fat-soluble vitamins for health, and we only get them in high doses from animal products. Nuff said.

  • NICE

  • what is raw milk ?

  • @Danfranschwan2

    Unpasteurized.

  • @Danfranschwan2 : milk that hasn't been heated (pasteurized)

  • @therunningpianist42

k , didn't know it was then called "raw" , thx anyways ;)

  • great stuff, more a back rubbign session than a debate though. lol

  • What does he mean by animals have conscience?

  • You are a gifted teacher, Sean.

  • @UndergroundWellness

sean what is your take on this hole juice fasting craze?... Dose it make any sense to you? There must be a less stressful way to detox... I always recommend drinking lots and lots of clean water, even cooling it down and ozonating it for a while... and purifying the air before going to sleep.

  • The reason why those people in Africa dont get sick from the meat they eat is because those animals are healthy. In America MOST meat is not. Everyone is different but if everyone followed the basic concepts of getting in shape I am sure it would work for everyone. That is workout every day, eat organic veggies and fruits and only stick free range organic meats. Everyone has their own philosophy on which 1 of those foods to eat, how much of it, and at what times to eat it.

  • The massai and other old cultures didn't treat their meat with chemicals and didn't tons of it.meat was a garnish not a main part of the meal.food today is poisonous and not fit for consumption.it makes folks nuts trying to figure out what won't harm them

  • You should probably watch up and change your mind about that scam protandim.

  • @theUSER101 Mmm Hmm... You should go to Pubmed and read some research.

  • @UndergroundWellness Is it healthier to be a vegan?

  • @UndergroundWellness The studies are no very convincing for the claims being made. I say its a scam because its only 5 herbs. You can easily buy these 5 herbs in high mg anywhere, for cheaper. The reason the product is so expensive is because it is set up as a MLM scam. MLM does not work, look at the studies on that man or just think about MLM logically.

  • @theUSER101 Absolutely incorrect. That's how I can tell that you didn't read the studies. Read the one on the "synergism" (all 40 pages of it) and you'll understand how you're wrong. Then come back and say you're sorry. :)

If you think I would put my name on a scam, you're trippin. In 2 years, everyone will taking Protandim. You'll see.

  • @UndergroundWellness Anyways man. I like your videos, I'm not a hater. We will just have to agree to disagree, but I guess we will see in 2 years haha.

  • @theUSER101 Yes I agree, you have to be skeptical of any company with a claim that is so bold. Then when you actually look into the company and find that it is a network marketing company, you have to really think about what your getting into. Network marketing makes no sense and anyone with a business degree knows that it doesn't work. They are in it for the money. $50 bucks a bottle? Why? Because of their Network marketing set up, it wouldn't even work in theory if it was reasonably priced.

  • @UndergroundWellness How does protandim decide which herbs to mix together at a certain quantity? How do they know that any individual ingredient is effective and how do they know that that particular combination is more effective? Even if you can answer that question, where is your evidence for one combination being more effective that another....Honestly its guess work and you know it.

  • @theUSER101 Same answer for you. Read that study. To counter your other MLM scam claim. Protandim was available in GNC and CVS for 7 years before going MLM. It did not sell well b/c people didn't know what it did (and by your comments neither do u). They went MLM b/c it is a product that people need to share by word-of-mouth. I like to say "the bottle doesn't talk". The bottle won't tell u that it works a million times better than any other antioxidant. MLM is making is successful.

  • @UndergroundWellness MLM is making IT successful (typo). Don't believe everything your biz courses taught you. MLM has produced more millionaires than any other country. There are many reasons why a lot of people fail at MLM. One being that they don't follow the system. The other is that it takes self-discipline, which a lot of people don't have. But MLM can be very lucrative if you have the right product (Protandim), a great system, and 7 (going on 32) published studies.

  • @UndergroundWellness Your scam comments are just a knee-jerk MLM reaction. I did the same thing. BUT I actually took the time to investigate it (which you haven't done) and found that this one is going to be HUGE. I used to pay $35 for my multivitamin. Protandim is $40 and works much better on so many levels. I think it's rather cheap when you consider what it does.

Please read the research and know what you're talking about before calling anything I do a scam.

  • @UndergroundWellness "more millionaires than any other INDUSTRY". Typos. My bad. Just woke up. :)

  • @UndergroundWellness Its a study, its hard to understand all the scientific talk. However, I do understand the summaries of the studies and I'm not buying. Naturally I'm skeptical of claims like these. Dr. Harriet Hall, M.D. talks about protandim. If you google: Harriet Hall, M.D. Protandim Quack files, you can find the entire article. She talks the pseudo-scientific terms that are used to try to fool people like me into think its science ect ect and she breaks down the studies.

  • to ad this should be free info, and rather really on donations.

  • @Mauivavi It was free while it was going on. All of the calls were available at no cost for the 24 hours after they were posted.

  • I respect vegans and their views, but I can see my self not eating meat..I would love to only pay for animal meat that has been humanly breed and lived a good life, Its hard for me to eat meat but I feel its a natural part of being human..

  • I eat meats with moderation, I just think animals must not suffer when sacrificed, as a matter of respect and because the meat is not as healthy. There are essential aminoacids that you only find in meats or taking suplements

  • Sean has influence countless people for the better. We love you Sean!

  • @Garthwh Thanks!!

  • People that think plants have consciousness...

Have probably watched Avatar one to many times.

  • @DackIsBack Ya there is probably a lot of quacking during this whole debate.

  • vegans that don't eat meat end up with their brain shrinking over time, due to a lack of vitamin B... so they keep voting democrat

  • @theshaggyshow There is no direct correlation between vegans and democrats. Politics is out of context on this topic.

  • I love this.

I love veggies and they helped me soo much in my life,

This is just my experience though.

  • 2:18 says it all. My grandfather is a dairy farmer, he's 84 and outlived all of his high school class mates. My whole family grew up drinking raw milk, when my grandfather was in his twenty's he used to eat 13 whole fried eggs for breakfast. Growing up we ate meats and veggies every meal. At 82 my grandfather was still going up in the hay mound and stacking hay with out breathing hard. Most teenagers that come to help out couldn't even do that.

  • @chopperjones1 13 eggs?! I can barely choke down 2 or 3.

  • @chopperjones1

    kids, that's ridiculous! = /

  • @chopperjones1 wow 13 eggs? lol never heard of something like that before. many more for your grandpa ^_^

  • @chopperjones1 13 eggs, now that's just greedy! :)

  • @chopperjones1 how about the land destruction

  • @chopperjones1 your grandfather is healthy and fit becos he exercised daily due to his work. if he had eaten only 2 eggs and drank more soy milk instead he would have been just as healthy .

  • @keeyk118b Read Sally Fallon's (sp?) book on soy, and you will see that there's no way he could have drunk soy and been as healthy as he is. Dr. Price called it the "X Factor." Missing in overprocessed, factory soy milk.

  • @keeyk118b if he only ate 2 eggs he would not have been able to work as long and as hard as he did, and that would have eliminated a lot of the exercise to keep him fit and healthy. You have to feed your body if you want it to preform for you. Diet and exercise go hand in hand, without one you couldn't have the other. Hit the gym hard for 5 hours straight day after day and only eat 2 eggs, you won't have enough energy to make it through.

  • @chopperjones1 the eggs could be replaced with fish soy products etc.

  • @chopperjones1 One example isn't evidence, it's an anecdote. I can give you examples of very fit vegans in their 80s and 90s. Most people who live to 100 are vegetarians. If what you're saying is supposed to convince me, then what I just said should convince you. But it doesn't. Get real.

  • @watermelonygoodness I gave one example because I don't feel like typing for hours on this computer to give "every" example I've experienced. And these 100 year old people. did they sit in a chair or lay in a bed for there last 20 years? And did you poll "most" 100 year old people to see what there diet was? What you said would convince me if you cited actual studies or even give "Real" life examples of what you experienced yourself.

  • @chopperjones1 "What you said would convince me if you cited actual studies or even give "Real" life examples..." This is ridiculous. So first you're saying I need studies to back up what I'm saying, which is exactly the point I was making regarding your anecdotes, but then you say my anecdotes will convince you. Really? So anecdotes supporting your current position have convinced you, and then an anecdote for another position will convince you of that, and so on. This is lousy criteria.

  • lol the Fruit guy was hilarious.

2 new books thanks to you sean!

Primal blueprint and The new Evolution Diet

    for now.. XD

Cook all food in the morning, and take it with me c: so i can have fun

  • the last dude who spoke... is right!
