@jerico641 You are right that you do not need God to do good works for others, and unfortunately, like you, the works are done superficially. These young men are leading other young people to do hard things, above what we can do on our own without God. Without God, the works are ultimately a waste of time. God bless you!
That's it??? They cleaned up their rooms and called their parents from Alabama?? Where's the hard part?? And btw, what "slavery" was the 12-year-old kid raising money to end?? This is soooo messed up; I wonder how much these teen clones are making from this "book"??
Yes; again, I realize what human trafficking is. My point was that I heard little about it from these two guys or how exactly they have done or are doing anything to fight it. Btw, human trafficking also meant slavery in the past as well as the modern era. People just didn't use that particular term in the past.
@jerico641 Alex is actually interning at International Justice Mission, one of the most respected anti-trafficking groups in the world (and the organization for which Zach Hunter has raised money), this fall.
There's roughly 27 million slaves today-- they exist in all countries as sex slaves and work slaves. This is the largest number of slaves that has ever existed today.
One of the hardest things I ever did, was deliver a sermon on "Compassion". I was requested to do this by Greg Harris, Alex and Bretts father while I attended church with them. Great young men raised by great parents.
@jerico641 They inspire me and many others that we can strive to be the person God created us to be and do hard things, even the simplest. It's also inspiring how humble they are after all of their fame.
I'm sorry, I just don't see the logic here; how can a task be simple and hard at the same time? And how does two teenage kids cleaning up their rooms (which I will admit is difficult to get any teenager to do) become so inspiring? And what exactly did they raise money for again? Lastly, I never even knew who they were until I stumbled over this video; I'm not sure "fame" is the right word to describe these two. I think it's all double talk to promote their book.
@jerico641 Do hard things doesn't mean, becoming the president or something like that. It means doing what is hard to you, stepping outside your comfort zone. Witch these days, teens don't do that often because no one is taking the time to help and teach them. These two teenagers want to inspire other teens to do things that are hard for them, so they can grow and learn.
I am 16 and these two young men have inspired me so much and really been able to teach me a-lot through their books.
Look, I have an 18 yo daughter, and I think it's wonderful that she's learned the positive things she's learned during her lifetime, both from her mother and me and from others; she is a very compassionate and giving person. I'm all for kids learning to help others. All I'm saying is that these guys seem rather bogus, at least on the surface, and don't seem to have much to give; there are better role models out there. Also, you don't need a god to do good works for others.
Why does Kirk Cameron always wear the same outfit?

It's not a project Alex and Brett are working on as far as I know; it's a friend of theirs named Zach Hunter.
