@NikusuiAreiol good point, what i meant by kill my ancestors is my fellow maoris back in the days, so good was the command of christ that the christians at the time have the right to kill maoris, rape their women, torture their children and colonise them. wow this jesus sounds like a great guy, isnt he the leader of the KKK? what about the nazis? jesus jesus jesus!
excellent from the other sode of the pond,,,,an enduring legacy of christianity is the assimilation of supposed seperated or non allinged communites found in the "new" world. Christianity is a world wide movement,,,be you a european who has been familiar with the industrial revolution for 300 or so years or an indigenous person in the so called new world
STILL IS ! Where still are indigenous people and christian churches near, those first may survive with the water, food and medicine the church gave to them...in change for a complete submission and acceptance to their beliefs and laws. I have seen it personally... :-( real sad
Can we have the same prayers but with lyrics so we can follow what he is saying. I am not a Maori as I am an immigant from Africa but I am passionate about te Maori culture and I always enjoy using Maori words such as Ka Pai, Kai & Wai, Ti Ne Kutu (I think i got this one wrong) Haere Ra, Hare ma and of course the KIA ORAAAAAAAAAA :-)
mi piacerebbe sapere ciò che prega e leggerne le parole. Che siano fatte col cuore si vede chiaramente. Dio è Uno e tutti ci unisce nella preghiera. Pace e bene
because this prayer was here before the white man set foot on this land, before the maori had ever heard of a god

@Jizzem66 its where the heart is when saying it,not the language its said in that makes it very much a prayer to the father

@Jizzem66 Says who? You? ... I hope not, cos obviously you haven't the first idea of religion.
nellyqirl 1 year ago
@nellyqirl religion is poison and a drug, it divides people, it gives people false hopes

Actually if you study any history Christianity was and still is forced on locals in return for food and medicine.

E to matou Matua i te rangi
Kia tapu tou Ingoa.
Kia tae mai tou rangatiratanga.
Kia meatia tau e pai ai

I've tried to say it so many times.
Most of my family can say it, but I fumble every time. I get my words mixed up haha.
This guy says it beautifully.
