I have seen these guys more times than I can count at House of Blues in Orlando. I'm just waiting patiently for them to come back. They are superior live, amazingly better than on their recorded CDs. My dream is to see them at Red Rocks!
When U see Big Head Todd & The Monsters live, they are ANYTHING but mellow - Todd SHREDS that guitar...One of the best!! And we can't forget Rodeo Rob on thundering Bass and Brian killing it on drums...And when Hazel Miller is with the, she adds that SOUL element!! Love it! We drove 600+ miles to see them and would do it again in a heartbeat...
When U see Big Head Todd & The Monsters live, they are ANYTHING but mellow - Todd shreds that guitar...One of the best!! And we can't forget Rodeo Rob on thundering Bass and Brian killing it on drums...We drove 600+ miles to see them and would do it again in a heartbeat...
Kinda reminds me of when I was a bit younger...Dad had Reel-to-reels...then 8-tracks!! His media was sooo old...I thought my "new" cassette tapes were just the coolest!! Oh, how the tide turns......
Never heard this band till this week. All I can say is that I can`t get this song out of my head.Hey Big Todd my bad for coming to the show so late. Please tour again.I won`t miss you this tome around. Great voice.
I saw them at the House of Blues in NO La in I think 2004. Great band they are very friendly to the fans, this band is so underated it's not funny, due to them not selling out to big industry no doubt.
I saw them live in Northampton MA at a small music hall ..called "pearl street"..on ..yup Pearl St. ...wow i was right in front of the stage ..the hole crowd of 300 or so were dancing together "puff puff pass"oh was that a great night and they kicked ass
One of the most friendliest and remarkable bands in the business, and forward thinking. what's not to like about this song? It describes practically the love hate relationship we all go through with everything in life!
you know, i don't think anyone has anything bad to say about big head todd and the monsters, not overplayed, still popular, and overall just good mellow rock. i definitely wouldn't mind seeing them live
I was on my way to NV and I was passing by the"Grand Canyon" The sign said 5 hours but it was much more. I listened to the the boys...bitter sweet. Long live the songs,,,
i saw them with hootie and the blowfish. all the yuppies were there to see hootie who i dont like much and paid little attention to todd and company. so you could tell it was hard for them to get into it
Just saw them at House of Blues Sunday... you're right... you definitely come out a fan even more so than other bands. The guy has great energy and is cool.
Anyone who likes Big Head Todd comes out of their concerts loving them. Their concerts can transform and convert you, if for nothing else for Todd's unbelievable guitar playing.
Actually i have seen them play at the paramount and the boulder theater, I just prefer red rocks. Rob Squires the bass player is my uncle, so I've seen them play just about everywhere in Colorado.
What a terrific band this is. Check out the steel git player. He knows just how to play it perfectly and yet not upstage Todd. What a pro! BHT is fabulous in this tune. I rather listen to him than Clapton, as both a singer and a player, and that's saying a LOT.
This song takes me back to Crested Butte CO..and hanging @Toe Jam Records with Eric Sanderson....back in spring of 93....smoking cheba and thinking what a friggin rockin album this was(and still is...great music never dies...or gets old...this is nicely refined and amped up version!!!
Todd has to be one of the most underrated guitarists in America. Great song. Great Band. I saw these guys at Belle Chere in Asheville for free, front row... a sublime show.
u guys r lucky to b in the same country as this band catch them live if u can, i have all there albums but sadly will probably never get to see them as i'm in australia
jay and fenderstratguy below me-your both wise men indeed, great comments...todd and the monsters are the greatest, but sadly relatively unknown..but i guess that makes them more special!
One of the country's greatest "Unknown Superstars"! They could have easily just as well been called Amp Head Todd and the Tone Monsters the way he always gets a sick tone out of anything that happens to be in his hands at the time. Todd could probably throttle a squirrel and make it sound cool.
Todd Park Mohr is a rare talent, top-shelf singer/songwriter who plays a pretty mean lead guitar. Superb musicianship all around, from the band as well.
BHT are one of a kind, what a gift to us all they are..todd is a singer/songwriter/guitarist who is in a class of his own...dont ever stop playing guys~

One last thing, they only have three members but they sound as if they have five. You get every bit of quality performance live as you would on CD.

Am I the only one who has noticed that Katy Perry just struck major gold using this same chord progression on "Hot and Cold"? G-D-Am-C.
JackStraw65 2 years ago
It's a pretty common chord progression. BHT&TM weren't the first to use it either.
