His writing is pretty immature. There's really nothing interesting about his music at all. He needs to branch out and explore other forms of music.

But I guess it's about what sells isn't it? If Papa did a whole album of Villa-Lobos guitar music. Not many people would buy it would they? Music is a gift from God, but I think Matt should seriously buckle down and start writing more serious songs.

thats funny to hear...NOT REALLY!!! Have you actually listened to his songs? They are really good. Listen to him live makes the worship all much better. I'm not saying that he shouldn't branch out or anything, but worship music is mostly about lyrics, not whats playing behind those lyrics

I sort of agree. Alot of big name Christian artists dont do anything too thrilling and sound the same. And your right, that it does sell.

I listen to only a few Christian bands, ( Flyleaf, Skillet being the top 2)

But God gives people different ways to write. So what sounds good to us, may not be what some other people like.
