rickem is an idoit , there is 3 bolts , and one rod thats threaded in to the block that held on by one nut , you can remove the threaded rod by a small socket , the rest are 12 or 14 mm bolts , iv spent more time on 4.3s than he has i actually prefer to take the alternator bracket off first when changing a water pump that way you can see the bolts and you dont have to dick around with feeling around . that isnt the thermostat gasket , thats the water pump gasket , thermostat uses a oring

don't know what the issue is with chevrolet's compare how many times you have to work on them to how many times you do on a dodge or ford and i think you'll see the beauty in chevrolet. also look at the types of repairs you have to do on each before you go dogging on them. last i think rick has his priorities screwed up chosing the cat over a woman but somethings aren't that important to othersi guess lol
