I think it depends on the philosophy behind modifications...you can either "rice" it out like most people do or carefully modify i.e. upgrade/improve with factory specs/quality in mind...there are parts that are proven to work time and time again, sometimes for decades, and are worth whatever the price you're paying for them, while others are more of a hype thing, whatever that's trendy at the moment. Somebody who's been into cars/motorcycles for a long time knows what I'm talking about.
i am starting to like your videos , i would mod my car but its still new i got it brand new one year in October that just past but i want to put a cold air intake on and change my dole exost to a louder muffler
I have a Kawasaki Z750 (my first bike) since one year. I didnt change a lot because I was expecting at least one crash in my first season but everything went well. I put green stripes on the rims (the bike is a 09 model, bi-color green/black), a tank pad on the tank to protect it from scratches, crash pads to protect the engine when crashing, and another exhaust -> leovince evo2 which only cost me 400 € because of a forum sponsor (I never betrayed this decision cause it makes much more fun now)
I've got a '98 Jeep Cherokee (XJ), so far I put in a aftermarket radio head unit (Pioneer) and 4 speakers by the same company. Next thing that's going into it is a Flowmaster Super 44 muffler. And my dream mods would be a 4.5" Long Arm lift kit from BDS Suspensions, Hanson Offroad Prerunner bumper, Hanson Offroad rear bumper with tire carrier, and some Black Rock street lock wheels with 33" Mickey Thompson MTZ's or Baja Claws
When are you gonna sell/change your bike m13? You influenced my purchase of the 650R in back in 2007, and I just sold it few days ago with over 22k miles on it to get a Kymco maxi scoot. Got bored with it, needed more comfort etc. Should have gone with the Suzuki Bandit or Honda CBF in the first place. I had 2 scooters during that period too, still own a 125cc Kymco comparable to your Cygnus (which is very expensive here!). Any new bikes you'd like to own?
I've got an Aprilia RSVR which has had a few mods. PCV, Akra full exhaust system, Magnesium OZ Wheels, HID lights, new clip ons... And a big bore kit :D
I feel the opposite about modding sort of. I rather have a motorcycle that I've put a lot of money, time, and love into than just buying the next model up. To me, it makes riding more personal and less mechanical.
I had a little 250, and i accepted the fact it wasn't going to be the fastest bike out there, but i'd be damned if it wouldn't look sweet. I gave it a Two Bros VALE carbon fiber exhaust system, a blacked out double bubble wind screen, K&N Air filter, Hot Bodies Undertail, red LEDs (just like M13's! haha) Rear seat cowl, Red extendable/collapsible levers, and a decal kit that i have yet to put on. i'm keeping this thing forever, so i have no qualms putting some money into it.
I know its not bike related but my Land rover defender is the best vehicle to mod - 2" lift and drop on suspension, dislocation cones, light bars, gigglepin winch front and rear, uprated intercooler, side exit exhaust, 285 75 r16 simex tyres.... future mods put a v8 in it!!!!
wellll i ran my ninja into a ditch recently...so you could say im doing a LOT of modding. One thing im doing is denting in the tank (the rest of the way) to make a stunter style seat. My front fairing is in 100 pieces, so im leaving that off and adding a street-fighter style round headlight so it'll look vintage...ish. And a few other things to make it not look like shit
@13mordeth takeing a 460 big block and boreing the stroke to 4.3 inches and then the pistons .30 over to make a 545 ford big block to put in my 86 f-150. along with 14 inch ladder suspension and 41 inch tsl boggers :)
@Nalopotato Sam here man haha... Ran mine into a ditch 2 weeks ago... Front right fairing cracked and my coolant reservoir. All better now though :), $300 dollars latter.
My first motorcycle I brought last year was a 2005 Honda CBR600RR. Me and my friends put over 20 hours into it, we put an Power Commander, full Scorpion exhaust and custom Famous decals on it. Two months ago, I got hit by a drunk driver 5:30 pm in the afternoon. My bike is gone, I hurt my leg and my back really bad, I hurt my back before when I was in the army. Now, I'm doing physical therapy each week, it sucks how much money and time me and my friends put into that bike. Its all gone now :-(
Let's see. . . . CDC Classic chin spoiler, Saleen/Parnelli Jones Tribute rear wing, Nitto NT-555Rs all around, soon to see a C&L cold air intake with SCT/BAMA tune and a Nxt Step Performance cat-back.
I probably wouldn't do anything, just cause the mods that I would put on are stuff like Ohlins suspension or monoblock Brembos or a Power Commander or a full exhaust, although a Slip-On is enough for just the sound, are horridly expensive and you don't get even half of it when you sell it, so it's much simpler and cheaper to just swap it for a Ducati or a new Triumph with the R pack and be done with it...
To my motard: big bore, FMF pipe, flat slide carb, modded airbox, sprocket change, braided steel brake line, EBC clutch springs, skid plate, rad guards, master cylinder guard, luggage rack, axle sliders, handguards, aux gas tank. Still on the wish list: new valves, new cams, porting, stroke, IMS gas tank.
I have the same bike as you and would really like to do some of what you have done. I'm really getting that itch to get a new one after two years. I think i'll mod it to see if it satisfies me first though.
ultimate mod for you bike as far as bang for your buck.. i would say turbo charge..depending on ur cylender compression..it would add allooott of usable power...
Great, You have not showned Your bike again, lol. As for mods, maybe Gianelli sounds good but you loose a lot of power/torque - look at the dynos tests.
@13mordeth im defiantly going to do one of your tours but do you think you'll still be doing them in a 2-3 years? i love riding new places and this would be perfect
I tinted my windows, put AEM short ram intake, front strut bar, 16" rims, debadged my car, painted the engine cover, made a custom mount for my front license plate, changed the bulbs to LED and more! I love your videos M, I hope you had a great birthday last month!
I have modded every single vehicle i have ever owned and more recently i paid to mod my girlfriends chest... Big shout out to Dr Bright for doing such a great job, im really enjoy your work.
2008 Vw GLI just some tiny exterior mods to make the car look more clean, and it has a stage1 tune on it. Next up is a better transmission mount bushing, full exhaust, and stage2 tune. in the way future big turbo upgrade :-D or ill just buy a bike
I've spent far too much money modifying my Impreza turbo... Looks pretty stock but has 374bhp / 352ftlb's, its certainly not the fastest car on the road but it makes me happy and its unique
@masterknaster Yeah man.....JUST because of my videos. Normally to get sponsors you need to at least be a beginner racer in the middle of nowhere that no one's heard of. But for some strange reason some people thought that me being the most viewed motorcyclist on the world's largest website deserved getting some sponsors......silly eh?
@13mordeth Well silly? Yeah since you almost never show your bike. At least a racer has HUGE logos for everyone to see. And jeez, you really are a bit oversensitive aren't you? Nobody's out to insult or hurt you bro, chill out, I'm not the taiwanese media.
my truck is basically stock except for a cai, i want to get an exhuast for it, maybe a cam, but im lookin into v8 s10 now, bike wise my sporty is a stage 1, drag pipes, max jetted, air cleaner performance plugs, over the winter, dropping the back and new tires
In the UK the only bikes called "Ninjas" are the 600 and 1000cc inline 4, and there might be a 250 out, can't remember. I think yours is called a ER-6f. Is it a 650cc v-twin? also there is a naked version called the n rather than f.
as a english 16 year old i have a 50cc supermoto style moped. im only gonna have it til im 17 when i can move up to a 125 so i dont want to do much, maybe get a race exhaust if it will help the engine tone since it at the moment it sounds like a prepubescent chainsaw- extremely loud and high pitched
At the moment i have a vw lupo thats blacked out, slammed with deep dish wheels on 30mm wheel spacers, sits low and wide. Thats my first car, saving up this year for something with POWER !! Like a 3 series or an sti, insurance is a bitch though.
i wonder how you manage to keep conversation going so well o your bike, i know when driving a car i cant keep a convo going cause i always need to concentrate anyways keep up the great vids mordeath!
I'm into building "sleepers" which for those who don't know is a fairly standard looking car with lots of interesting things underneath. In the UK we can do pretty much what we want to our vehicles so I had a racing engine put into an old 80s volvo, new suspension, nice wheels and stainless straight exhaust and racing chip. Was outputting about 170bhp with no turbo or supercharger. Oh and it was a RWD setup so a very very fun car. Sold it for as much as I spent on it. Surprised a lot of people!
The Audi S4 WAS BAT'd (big ass turbo'd) with supporting mods, was a sleeper, 15% tints, gorgeous Euro rear bumper, gorgeous European trunk (space for a Euro license plate with brushed aluminum mirror caps. It was beautiful. You already know this. Someday again... lol. Insurance money is SO easy to spend (on other toys).. because I didn't earn it.
Hehe. I own a fucking civic. I agree it's a slow car but I have fun with it. I have a b16 swap, obd1 ecu tein lowering springs, asr, beaks, itr swaybars. Custom straight pipe, spoon intake and turbo. Will buy rims next week. And I love m13 bwahaha. =))
Scottoiler, new windshield, seat-cowl, intergrated blinkers, foot pegs, tankpad, Yoshimura Carbon exhaust and some minor mods like red parking light etc. And yes, it's a Ninja.
i had some plans about modding but gave up and now i'm saving for a better bike, since modding is usally useless because for example ninja650r is never going to be a proper ninja no matter what you do with it
but ofcourse if you don't have money or don't want another bike modding is a great way to improve your bike and make it nicer to ride and to look at
i got a derbi senda X-Treme 2004 modell two stroke whit hebbo 80cc sylinder, mk2 thrower exhaust, 15t/50t, metrakit prorace gearbox, and i reinforced the frame and engien topspeed about 185-190 kmh
@fuakyewz i have a metrakit gearbox that is designed for higer speed. whit the original gearbox it goes about 110 so go and act cool elsewhere dumb shit, go and learn ur mechanics
At that price those "two guys" must have been 9 year old child laborers. Aside from the moral quandary I suspect those tiny hands can do a pretty thorough cleaning.
@SunShawnSean The only place around here that has 9 year olds working are the whore houses......and the 9 year olds are easily the most expensive in the place. Trust me.
@DEATHMETAL334 MAG are working hard against that legislation. They're considering throwing the Anti-Tampering regs out of court because the EU can't come up with any solid evidence it'll be beneficial. They can't even supply a proper impact assessment, and the voting on the regs has been put off five times.
@CultureShockSix MAG can only do so much. If the EU really want to fuck bikers over they can no matter what MAG do. I'm just not going to obey any of the laws and I suggest bikers all around Europe do the same. If we don't stand up and fight they'll continue to bully us.
@DEATHMETAL334 The EU can only pass a law if it's deemed sensible and beneficial - as written in the European Constitution. If it's deemed economically and socially unbeneficial to Europe, it'll be thrown out.
We need to fight them at their own game. They want to show us laws? We'll show them laws in return, and so far it's working. Heck; even the Government is with us on this one; even they don't like it.
@DEATHMETAL334 i dont think its falling through (hopfully) because they had that huge bike rally thing, they deffenatly said they wouldnt do some of the laws but lets just hope!
This winter I'm going to be chopping/bobbing my '93 Kawasaki Vulcan EN500... I'm gonna document the whole process and post up vids. It was a cheap bike, with low miles. When I upgrade to a bigger bike I don't plan on selling it so I figure I should have some fun with it.
I recently changed the final drive on my 125 and replaced the two rear chain tensioners. The bike revved too hard - even for a 125 - so I went up 2 teeth on the front sprocket. Made a world of difference. It pulls less well now, but it does everything at much lower revs; which is good.
In the past, I've only ever really added new grips. Looking for some bar-ends though; considering bar-end mirrors.
I plan on getting a new set of plastics for my scooter, One side has deteriorated from the bolt at the bottom and most scooters where I live are the same (all have silver on them as well) . And I can't be bothered to spray over it. And I don't have room for that either. I may or may not replace the exhaust as well. Then I'll sell it.
Haven't done anything to the bike yet just bought it in june (Hyosung GT 650) and I'm not sure if i'm going to. kinda looking into buying a CBR or a Ninja
Had a nice white '03 Mustang with magnaflow pipes, tints all the way around, racing tuned, Mach 1 aluminum 5 spoke rims and i change out those little reflectors from yellow to white up until about a month ago... then it got crushed by a tree during the first snow storm of the year DX
For my R6, I wanna get Vtec in 2 of my pistons, I want a turbo in 1, and NOS in the last piston. I also wanna change my left grip to a throttle so I can go twice as fast and Im removing the brakes for weight reduction.
Mordeth, in denmark, where i live, you pay your veichle 3 times when you buy it. We have the higest taxes in the world and cars, and espicially on bikes.. Im 15 years old and i will buy my first bike when i become 18 :) Its and ktm 125 duke, can you recommend bikes for young people?
everything's purely cosmetic for now... spraypainted my windscreen black, got a tank pad (the one on my profile pic), fender eliminator kit & an integrated tail light...
still need a decent set of flushmount turn indicators, frame sliders & rear seat cowl before i finally tackle the guts with an aftermarket air filter, plugs & a full system exhaust...
wish list items are slightly wider tires, a new gauge cluster (koso?), lowered handlebars, a reliable lowering kit & a proper hid conversion...
It got to the point a few years ago that I had twice the money in my bike as what I could reasonably sell it for, so I told myself I'd just keep it indefinitely and keep modding. The only things left in my mind are to install the Buell front end (need a wheel yet), get the wheels powdercoated and install the Daytona 675 tail/integrated light with the raked subframe I made last year. Just a matter of time, motivation and lack of garage space.
I put a bunch of mods on my 50cc scooter recently. New variator, roller weights, clutch, belt, upjetted carburetor, air filter, and some nice progrips ^^ much nicer acceleration now though its still a 50cc haha
i'd modify my motorcycle but some arse hole stole it :/ annoying thing is theres only 2 of the same bike in a 100 mile radius if not the country and the other is black, mines bright green with a bright blue seat (standard not my choice :P) (if you live in or around west yorkshire i'd appreciate if you'd let me know if you've seen it) its a lifan lf 125 gy-3 :P and as ever nevi vid m13!
I had some wacky headlight and speedometer mods on my CB, but the police wouldn't stop bothering me, so I bought some original spare parts and removed the fancy tuning. Only thing I still have are smaller blinkers, wider handlebar and a sports exhaust for a decent soundtrack
Just got my first bike - Iron 883 - Only mods I am considering are big bore to 1200cc, screamin' eagle pipes for a better sound (not too loud), and suspension for canyon carving through the California redwoods. As always, thanks for more vids!
I've got a Hyosung GT250R '11, have a shortie slipon, fender eliminator, and dark tint screen. Doesn't add any performance whatsoever to the 250 but it sounds ridiculously awesome and looks the part. I don't think I will spend anymore money on it being a 250.
Once I upgrade to a larger bike I would probably do the same type of mods, but with a power commander, full exhaust system and tune.
I'm looking to start riding in the summer season and am going to purchase a 250cc bike as my first bike. Would you recommend just learning on a 250cc and have my fun with it and perhaps maybe mod it after I become more skilled? Or just learn on it first then upgrade to a bigger bike then mod the newer one?
@13mordeth well you already uploaded a video were you stated that you were content with the mods you got on your bike (although it wasnt the name of the title), so my mind started to wander and i remember in a past video you said you got fired (or you quit dont remember) and you were looking for a job, but you didnt really expand on that after that video. So i was curious as to whether you did youtube full-time or part-time.
Had to laugh at the not wanting to get bike dirty after cleaning, in the UK you clean your bike... like you say at least 2hrs. Then jump on and go for a ride to show off your pride and joy and boom it rains... without fail every time.
i have a 2005 yamaha bws. probably the ugliest scooter ever made but i have done tons of work to it! is it worth it? maybe. maybe not. havent had a chance to ride it yet. cant wait for spring!
I used to be big into heavily modded 4x4's, (Jeeps, Suzuki Samurai's) talk about a money pit. Thought a bike would be much cheaper, at least I know I don't have to dump 10-15 grand on it to take it off-road. I plan to add some soft luggage to my KLR650 and a few gadgets (gps etc.) but other than that I wanna keep it relatively stock so it's easy to work on.
Today we are gonna have a topic on What camera i should get, Blah blah blah blah.
Whew thats one hot girl right there, I hope shes 18 cause i have a huge erection.
thats one thing about taiwan you never know how old the girls are so you have to look and see if they are riding a scooter because the legal age for riding a scooter is 18 so your good!
next mod....get a zx-10r even though yo hate the leaders get a liter u can learn to love em. funny my last 3 vids have been joking about ninja 250 mods- we are linked, we are brothers.
I don't need to modify my car, Its a PERFECT man mobile, sofa/living room on wheels..plus theres a nice big bench seat for when it's late out and your alone with your girlfriend so you start to...oh wait..I'm rambling..
I'm over 300 pounds and test road a few 650R's for friends who were looking to get into riding. I was always impressed by the power and handling for the cost. A very good bike for a wide range of skill levels and riding goals.
I deff did do alot of mods on my Toyota supra MK4 i swapped out the 2jz out for a 2jz GTE engine put a 70mm turbo out of it with a straight pipe exoust. im getting around 670 hp. im trying for at least 1000hp

masterknaster 2 months ago
@masterknaster Yeah man.....JUST because of my videos. Normally to get sponsors you need to at least be a beginner racer in the middle of nowhere that no one's heard of. But for some strange reason some people thought that me being the most viewed motorcyclist on the world's largest website deserved getting some sponsors......silly eh?
13mordeth 2 months ago 27
@13mordeth Well silly? Yeah since you almost never show your bike. At least a racer has HUGE logos for everyone to see. And jeez, you really are a bit oversensitive aren't you? Nobody's out to insult or hurt you bro, chill out, I'm not the taiwanese media.

In the UK the only bikes called "Ninjas" are the 600 and 1000cc inline 4, and there might be a 250 out, can't remember. I think yours is called a ER-6f. Is it a 650cc v-twin? also there is a naked version called the n rather than f.

Too bad bike modding is becoming illegal in Europe
If these EU bastards get their way we won't even be able to put an aftermarket can on our bikes :(
DEATHMETAL334 2 months ago 36
@DEATHMETAL334 MAG are working hard against that legislation. They're considering throwing the Anti-Tampering regs out of court because the EU can't come up with any solid evidence it'll be beneficial. They can't even supply a proper impact assessment, and the voting on the regs has been put off five times.
They may not get their way just yet... ;)
CultureShockSix 2 months ago
@CultureShockSix MAG can only do so much. If the EU really want to fuck bikers over they can no matter what MAG do. I'm just not going to obey any of the laws and I suggest bikers all around Europe do the same. If we don't stand up and fight they'll continue to bully us.
DEATHMETAL334 2 months ago
@DEATHMETAL334 The EU can only pass a law if it's deemed sensible and beneficial - as written in the European Constitution. If it's deemed economically and socially unbeneficial to Europe, it'll be thrown out.
We need to fight them at their own game. They want to show us laws? We'll show them laws in return, and so far it's working. Heck; even the Government is with us on this one; even they don't like it.
But I agree. If they bring it in, ignore it.
CultureShockSix 2 months ago
@DEATHMETAL334 Simple solution. No plate no ticket.
But yea, they fucking suck. When are they going to crack down on idiot car drivers??!?!
LithCS 2 months ago

Then I'll sell it.

everything's purely cosmetic for now... spraypainted my windscreen black, got a tank pad (the one on my profile pic), fender eliminator kit & an integrated tail light...
still need a decent set of flushmount turn indicators, frame sliders & rear seat cowl before i finally tackle the guts with an aftermarket air filter, plugs & a full system exhaust...
wish list items are slightly wider tires, a new gauge cluster (koso?), lowered handlebars, a reliable lowering kit & a proper hid conversion...
