  • hahahaha!!! its easy when you know what your opponent's gonna do and when he leave's his arm up and stays like that!!! ....karate,kung-fu,tae kwon do its all bullshit!!! mma is the real deal!!!

  • i dont necesarily agree or disagree with some of the stuff that speakman does, but god dam all you keyboard warriors are pathetic

  • Legendary.

  • i would love a fat, 50 year old to try this with me. use all the fabulous and complex words that you want. the truth is this. im 6ft 4in 250 lbs. ill close the distance, take you to the ground and seperate your joints. ill stick my fat cock in your mouth when its all over. bring it. i challenge anyone, anywhere.

  • @JiffJaffa so, 6ft 4, 250lb lard ass, who likes guys sucking his dick? oooo you're so special

  • @JiffJaffa You sound like a raging gay flamer with hostility issues. It goes without saying that you can;t fight because you're trying to hard to impress....aren't you. Have your boyfriend bend you over to relieve your frustrations and tensions then you'll probably calm down for awhile. Lose some weight and maybe you'll find a life partner for yourself. You may even join a McDojo at your local shopping center and learn a few martial arts moves for self defense too gay "Baby Hewey".

  • Hilarious to see commenters say there are "too many moves". Kenpo trains you to hit many times, very fast, leaving no gaps. More moves than some, but if you're training in it then you can do it. Also: this is a sequence. It's a set of moves for training, but you don't have to use exactly this way in a fight. Anyone who thinks Kenpo or Speakman aren't able to take on just about anything should see his teaching on here - his movement and understanding are excellent for any art.

  • @sballuk youre a doooosh. this is choreographed. once i shoot the distance and take anyone down, i gain dominate body position and break joints. there is no karate or kung fu that can account for division 1a wrestling.

oh...youre gonna strike me on the way in? good luck.

  • @JiffJaffa It's like saying Wing Chun or Kuk Sool Won has "too many punches". Kenpo (which I *don't* think is the ultimate style by a long way) has early sequences with just three moves, one of which is a kick to the groin. It can deal with a range of attacks, and once you're any good you won't use this specific sequence unless it's the right situation. You don't have to use ANY sequence, they're there as a learning aid.

  • @sballuk Don't even waste your breath on JiffaJaffa, all that trash talk and he's not even on YouTube anymore.

  • @deek77 Wow, that was quick. He's booted / flounced out after 1 week. Thanks for the heads-up :)

  • @sballuk Anytime, man. Besides, if he was really all that, like a UFC or Strikeforce-caliber type of fighter, he wouldn't be wasting time in here talking, he'd be somewhere training.

  • Too many moves - JDK or Krav Maga is much more direct if you must learn a striking art.

  • TO MANY MOVES WITHIN ONE TECHNIQUE, THE AVERAGE CHILD OR ADULT WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO RETAIN IT TO A LEVEL WHERE IT COULD BE USED IN A VIOLENT SITUATION, MOST BLACK BELTS WILL FREEZE UP IN A VIOLENT CONFRONTATION, OUTSIDE THE DOJO THESE MOVES ARE WORTHLESS, IF YOUR LOOKING FOR AN EFFECTIVE EASY TO LEARN AND REMEMBER TRY KRAV MAGA, THIS FROM A PERSON WITH 31 YEARS EXPERIENCE IN AND OUTSIDE OF THE DOJO, MOST COMMERCIAL SCHOOLS ARE A WASTE OF YOUR TIME AND MONEY.

  • Just to all the beginners and ignorants out there. If you are a real martial artist you will respect all martial art styles. By practicing one style or another you will not get better than anyone else. You can only be a good martial artist by training hard, by keeping your mind open, by studying different techniques and philosophy, by respecting others n yourself. Learn everything what you can and embrace what is useful for you.

  • @maidanac What IS a martial artist. Martial means military implying that the martial arts are the "arts' and sciences related to military action. This would imply combat. Military training and action has no latitude for purposeless training. Military combat training has one goal : to close with the enemy and destroy him. Much of the "martial arts" out there fail to secure this purpose. A sport or a meditational exercise is NOT a martial art, regardless of modern misuse of the term.

  • Mr Speakman is no doubt one of the best out there. Kenpoists may not in general be great street fighters, so what! This is a self defense art. I don't believe there will be any kenpoists out there, who after training in this art are less able to defend themselves than they were prior to commencing training, therefore it works just fine. There are many techniques in Kenpo with many moves, the student can bring to bare his favorite moves from his favorite techniques in order to defend himself.

  • Kenpo5.0 actually started incorporating ALOT of Bazillian jiu jitsu. Many of their students also train in MMA. Kenpo is a good art, but i prefer BJJ

  • I've been involved in Kenpo for many years, however, I'm not a huge fan of the way Kenpo (or any martial art) trains in the static, you stand there mode. There is an old saying "As ye train, so shall ye fight", and if all the practitioner ever does is practice like this.. they'll more than likely get crushed in a fight against a determined attacker - because they're not prepared. If this is just ONE PIECE of a bigger pie, where they grapple and go all out, then I think it's a great addition.

  • I believe what Sensei Speakman is doing is correct. He is teaching principle and form (kata), he is creating a benchmark or foundation from which you can LEARN from. Creating a strong foundation in MA in the beginning of learning. REi

    Sensei Speakman

  • Unfortunately on the street attackers don't pose for you.

  • @shadjazz - Hmmm, how many street attackers have you confronted? Most of them ARE posers, LOL!

  • @ModernGolfer your a dork!

  • @shadjazz - THAT'S the best comeback you could think of? Awww, shame, shame, little man. Perhaps some day you'll actually be confronted with a street attacker. You'll wise up at that point, I suppose...

  • @ModernGolfer Nothing wrong with Kenpo, its rather the Parker, Speakman and Tatum method. The uke mentality creates a false sense of security for the student. Can you explain to me how hitting a guy who poses like a statue is going to help me learn how to defend myself? anything wrong with being skeptical?

  • @shadjazz your missing the point of practicing this way. The truth is it is highly unlikely to perform complete technique on an attacker on real life, because each strike causes a reaction on your opponent (and like you said, they don´t just stand in there waiting) We are taught this way to identify and strike each area that the opponent leaves open. This way we have many options we can do if the first blow was blocked or missed.

  • @BXNYhardstyle each strike feeds the power into the next.

  • He had his back so he slaps him twice! This is useless, how about evading the strike and giving the guy a knee lift into ribs into a choke takedown and stomp

  • @clearcombat I assume you are a mma guy, right?

  • @darkgt91 No I am not. I am a self defense trainer and I teach effective moves not this nonsense that will get you killed. Look at how long winded this guy is. How many people in the street step into a punch,,,,,,,none1

This is what is wrong with the martial arts. Just because Ed Parker said it would work does not mean it will.

  • @clearcombat Anybody said thats the way someone will punch us in real life? No. The reason we do techniques like this (and the rest of people fail to realize) it´s because that way we can see every opening that the opponent give to us. Besides, how do you teach a new student, by punching him for real and expect to defend himself or by explaining first what can he do to counter it and practicing slow? This is just the same

  • @darkgt91 I only explain what works and what does not. In fact I emailed this video to my students to show the uselessness of classical karate. I teach a proper fighting stance to start, then how to execute kicks, knees, elbows and how to mix them up. The video in discussion has no application in real life even for a beginner. This art is only art. As I said before, this is useless in real combat. If you ever spar a Krav Maga, JKD, Kapap or MMA fighter, walk away or you'll get hurt badly.

  • Comment removed

  • @clearcombat First of all, this is not "classical karate" Kenpo essence is in modern science & physics, so there is a reason for each strike. Second, can you leat show me what kind of self defense you teach? like a video or something

  • @clearcombat That's because you are looking at this video as an absolute representation of reality and thinking FAR too literally about the technique being demonstrated. The exaggeration of the movements is done in order to make it easier for the student to learn the technique. EVERY martial art employs this method to some extent. If your instruction is so precise, flawless and real worldish, why not stop by Speakman's school and challenge him? Maybe you can post a video of yourself.

  • jeff speakman is already a good kempo coach. he is not necessary an action star. being a kempo coach is honest living & good income for him

  • @BXNYhardstyle True. I guess its always good to take it slow before we show speed.

  • Bladestar is correct. With all due respect to Master Speakman, the demo is great but it's real world application never will be because its training model is not alive. Kenpo has lots to offer that say MMA never can but the training model direly needs upgrading.

  • Does Jeff still teach or what?

  • @skrullion Ofcourse he's one of the Best kenpo Master at the world

  • I know this is a demo, and I love the technique but do you honestly expect the guy to just stand there as you strike?

  • @Bladestar7 He's doing it slowly. Not to mention this is written in what is called the ideal phase for the purpose of training only aka, this is if everything went perfectly. Really, kenpoists are expected to blend between multiple techniques and change attack plans depending on the environment and changes the opponent makes. If he spins, he'll go into a different technique which might just be a small bit of a different one. Again, this is called the ideal phase.

  • @GuitarHeroCustomize Understood. But I want to see more kenp sparring.

  • @Bladestar7 It's fun to watch someone who really gets how to do this. With sparring you can't do quiet as much as kenpo has to offer since they would be blind or dead by the end of it but certain techniques like Deflecting Hammer, Leap from Danger, Destructive Kneel and Thundering Hammers are great for a sparring setting. With slight modifications to fit the rules that is. (That's just a small list btw)

  • @Bladestar7 What do you think he's going to do after his eyes's been poked? Part of the beauty of Kenpo lies on the speed of its techniques and how your opponent normally has no idea what your doing to him, he just feels it.

    Cheers.

  • @ratonL Understood. thanx 4 the info.

  • is that Repeating mace???

  • Comment removed

  • @jeetcaredo Yep, and even for repeating mace that is very different from what I have. I do Waiter's carry check, middle knuckle to the ribs, returning back knuckle to the ribs, round house to the legs, twist stance into a hammer strike to the head, twist out to a palm heel to the face, spin around back kick, jump in heel sweep the right leg, kick the left, cross over ball kick the stomach, jump and retarded front ball kick the ankle out. REALLY different.
