  • The flayed ones should at least go as fast as the wraiths

  • Out of all units I feel Flayed ones should move at a faster rate. Because there close combat, and unless you deep strike them in the thick of things the enemy will be able to run right past them start attacking the warriors and the structures with ease. That's why I feel flayed ones should be there as a kind of sheperd unit.

  • Very very stupid of Hypernia to keep deploying those flayed ones in front of Leragpicker...

  • Necrons aren't bad right now to be honest, but Hypernia didn't tech correctly. His Flayed Ones deepstriking was poor, as he would always deepstrike in front of the shoota boyz instead of behind, where he could cut them off.

  • Im enjoying these commentaries, good stuff. Before this I found replays boring to watch but this makes them much more entertaining. So thanks for doing these Vaul.

  • They're not the worst race. It all depends on both the map and the skill of the player that's using them that determines the outcome of every match, and specifically that map wasn't to great in the necrons favor.

And hey Vaul, have you watched DBZ before, by any chance lol?

  • Crons are the worst race in the game atm.

  • Wow... Do you still play this game?

  • i h8 necs when they flayed ones rush in team battles

  • And I "h8" it when they Fire Warrior rush in team battles. or Dark Reapers. Heh, that argument had no basis.

  • Give the guy a break. Necrons are the worst race right now.

  • Perhaps just 1 squad of flayed may have been enough, I must say though he was mostly NW heavy, with 3 or 4 squads of them and disruption field. So no huge mistake in troop choice imo. Its a bit dull seeing solar pulse spam all the time, if he had to take down banner farms I would understand, but in the defense try one of the other abilities. Lightning field can often gib the enemy commander if he doesn't realise you have it.

  • I definitely think the Necrons should've teched up faster. It's really important for them to do so. Also the Flayed Ones wasn't a very good strategy I think. Not sure why he kept doing it. I suppose it bought him a bit of time, but besides that. Not the smartest idea.

  • GG and good commentary :)

It is hard for necrons to defend against an aggressive Ork player. I think the Flayed Ones was a poor choice against a Shoota heavy Ork force :( Personally, I probably would of went with a heavy warrior force and would just try to hold out till T2.

  • sorry for the double post, but....

Anyway, great commentary, Vaul. I hope that your VRI inspires more DOW tournaments and commentaries. I've been a games workshop junky for nearly ten years, ever since fourth grade, and it would be nice to see a larger mainstream awareness of such a top notch hobby. Thanks a million.

Oh yeah, and I can't wait for the table-top battle report video. That is, if you do it.

  • I wonder if the seeming one-sidedness of this match-up translates to the tabletop game? Necrons are super resilient, but do "heaps" of inexpensive choppa attacks counter them this well? Who knows.
