This is a fabulous movie of Stoppard's play. I would have loved to have seen Iain Glen's stage Hamlet since we only get a tantalizing taste of what it was to become.
Here they've stepped into the play "Hamlet" and they assume the actor's voice and stance. "Backstage" they are funny and speak differently. They squabble; they struggle to figure out where they came from, and why they were sent for. It's a clever, funny movie.
I'm actually going to try to convince my British Lit. teacher to let us watch this in class when we study Hamlet. She seems like a person who'd enjoy it, and she likes watching movies in class(we're going to watch Shakespeare In Love once we start studying him, and we're watching Harry Potter soon cause it's similar to Beowulf, which we start next week), so I'm hoping she'll agree. ^_^
Actually, hate to contradict a smartass, but this is from the movie based on a play by Tom Stoppard called Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, not Hamlet.
Since they both wrap around the exact same story, naturally they adapt scenes in Hamlet--but this isn't from any movie on Hamlet.
Oooh, am i getting involved in a youtube squabble?! It's my first! Anywaaaay, poetscorner talked about Shakespeare, and every word in this clip is Shakespeare. So poetscorner is right even if he/she mistook the movie for Hamlet. Methinks!

They're all really hot. I wish Iain Glen would be given a Hamlet feature film.

Wow, I think that this Hamlet is the best I've seen so far! I would love to see him play the role in a traditional production of Hamlet.

If only we'd watched this in English class -- much more interesting than Branagh's selfindulgent production... Hamlet's been overdone.

There is no poet like Shakespheare, for every work he has written opens a new door to my soul.

This isn't Hamlet. This is a play by Tom Stoppard, based off Hamlet. Its amazing.

Hate to be a smartass, but this particular bit isn't in Stoppard's play, it's straight out of Shakespeare's.
