Davos 2012 - Women as the Way Forward

This is an amazing talk, debate and empowerment program for everyone working in humanitarian fields but also to every individual for further development of our society as a whole. There are tons of notable remarks by the panels as well as from the participants. I particularly agree with Sheryl (FB) that the concept of gender equality should begin from the Top. However, I would further stressed that it should have a strong emphasis to begin from/ at Home where most of these boys and girls begin

Equality Will Never Happen

Until Men and Women Compete Equally in the Olympics

@wef:Equality between women and men are overrated, men & woman and are never going to be equal at home and at workplace. They are humanly equal, but each one is unique in their way. women can do somethings better than men and vice versa. too much emphasis on equality, we need to stop it.

@laminesockna Equality can never be overrated. If we had not fought for it, women would still be considered inherently incapable of political decision-making and denied the right to vote. If we do not fight for it, women are forever going to be paid less for the same work and thus be marked less important and capable as men. The problem with "different but equal" is that areas commonly assigned to women are not as highly valued by our society (think feminine emotion versus masculine reason etc).
