And everytime i see a video with either i change my mind lol. i think i have to go with the lp tho. sg has a more specific rock sound. i think the lp will be a better match for the variety of styles i play.

When you play guitar, your guitars are going to get scratched or beat eventually if they aren't then yor not really playing. That doesn't mean beat the shit out of them but that doesn't mean to be so careful you don't move while playing, just play just because they are beat or look brand new doesn't change the sound so don't worry about it

Yes you can. Epiphone is a Gibson product but machined instead of handmade. I actually prefer Epiphone over Gibson because of it and changing guitars. My SGs feels like my Les Pauls neckwise. Only thing difference is the pickups and tunings.

Just curious, what are you doing to give the video recording a stereo sound field? I see one amp and guitar, but am hearing what sounds a bit like fake doubling. I.e. either some stereo reverb, or one side is slightly delayed, something. Not sure what. But it's not straight up the middle mono. So it's kind of "jazzed up". Someone trying to get the sound you are presenting would need to know what the stereo effect is that's being used.

@Sil3ntDz what is your setup? this video is all good and stuff but people should really show how to get this sound with average equipment granted that i have a marshall 100watt tube. Before i had a fender 15 watt combo and a squier. But anyway basic tips: Drive/OD1 channel on most amps, gain about half way, bass half way or more depending upon your liking, i prefer the mid all the way up or a little less, and treble 5-7.Pick hard and play like you mean it. if you have the money- angus sig. pups

@theEddievanhalen Well the clean channel has it's own gain (distortion) channel. So just turn it on. I had a Marshall AVT once. It also had a seperate gain channel on the clean channel. You don't need pedals =)
