  • well, Einstein may just have uncovered the portion of the principles God used in creatingthe universe. Like finding the quadratic equation by the given vertex and a point?

  • I really enjoyed this video. Could you direct me to a reference which explains why the pressure and energy density isn't high enough in the sun's core to overcome the electrostatic repulsive forces? I'd like to read up on this a bit. Thanks.

  • Can this also exist with different vaccua? I'm curious about the big bang and also topological surgery.

  • There's no uncertainty, just Consciousness. If you are feeling a lot of change in YOUR worldview, you are simply shifting through realities. I ''Believe'' That there are forces that are in control of the Sun, doing the right thing. Just doing whatever it feels to be the right thing to do, to give the earth light without Harming it.

  • Chuck Norris can tunnel through a mountain with a probability of e^ -(2awesome/spitting distance)

  • @shaygahweh The thing is that YOU can do it.

  • Is quantum tunneling possible at the event horizon of a black hole?

  • @thechoreographer Yes, Google "Hawking Radiation".

  • @SNAKEPATR10T Quantum tunneling is not involved in Hawking radiation. Virtual matter-antimatter particles pop into existence the event horizon of a black hole. Normally they would annihilate each other. But at the event horizon, one gets sucked in while the other escapes. At least that is the most common interpretation of Hawking radiation.

  • @thechoreographer That is true, but there are some models in which the pair pops into existence at the event horizon and one of them may tunnel outside of it.

  • Sounds like you are certain about uncertainty. Aside from Quantum Tunneling Compound, I have not read any examples where quantum mechanics is exploited in technology. Can you fill us in?

  • @alotoaltosaxes Watch the Sixty Symbols video on Quantum Tunneling They talk about touchscreens! :)

  • @alotoaltosaxes Lasers couldn't exist without a thorough mathematical understanding of quantum mechanics. Same with just about every electronic device created.

  • this goes out to all my fellow physics majors who have to deal wit the calculus that goes behind all of the shit!!!!!!!!!

  • are you eating a sandwich?

  • Knock knock. -Who's there? Quantum tunneling. -Quantum tunneling wh --- Nevermind, I'm already inside.

  • i didn't quiet get it!!!!!

  • @farhan749 simple , any piece of matter has a chance to be anywhere in space at any given time.... so you have an infinitly small but possible chance of teleporting to mars then back to earth :)

  • very good video, very interesting, I wouldn't mind a billion dollar cheque randomly quantum tunnelling to my hand ha but seriously, this is a really interesting topic.

  • This is beautiful!

  • That´s why persistance is key. No need to conform to any belief if you want something be persistant untill quantum tunneling does its magic.

  • @SuperFinGuy its appalling what passes for education these days. Attempting to sound smart (when you obviously have no idea what you're talking about) makes you sound like an idiot. Get an education; and while you're at it, learn grammar.

  • *face palms* It's appalling what takes the name of physics nowadays. So taking probabilities is physics?! lol Before science that was the only means of people knowing when something might happen, and like them, yeah things happened magically without any explanation.

No wonder our understanding of physics have been practically stagnated for more than half a century.

  • From what I understand there are nuclei that do have enough kinetic energy to overcome the electromagnetic barrier, thus allowing fusion to occur. So, it's incorrect to state that all of the nuclei in the Sun don't have the kinetic energy needed for fusion.

  • how come whenever i go to a scientific video on youtube everyone is arguing about science vs. religion??

  • @MyNameIsSteveYesitis that's life. /:

  • how to make a portal gun please

  • Talks on Religion goes to Religious Forums.

  • Dear Vee, What are we debating? When you open up a workshop on the existence of God and Science, the strange bedfellows, Call me.

  • This means that without him, there is no possible way that we could achieve your successful outcome. So yes, although I agree that Satan does damage us, we were incapable of achieving the successful outcome in the first place, due to our natural imperfection.

  • The second law of thermodynamics states that in an isolated system, entropy will increase--no matter what the initial settings were. This means that without god (the force outside the system) establishing and maintaining order, we are doomed. God has given us many natural tools, but he didn't just leave us hanging.

  • @VeeRonna Are you joking? Do you know what the other laws of thermodynamics are? Judging by your comment I bet you don't. Earth and everything on it is NOT an isolated system. Look up into the sky, see that giant burning ball that stings your eyes if you look at it for too long? That makes earth not an isolated system.

  • @dtsbmx First of all, I was making an analogy, not using physics as a mechanism to prove the existence of God. Second of all, I do happen to know the other laws: the first law states that matter cannot be created or destroyed; the third law states that at absolute zero the entropy of a system is zero; the zeroth law describes thermal equilibrium among systems. And yes, that bright burning ball (and many others) makes Earth not an isolated system. I would suggest that you don't judge so hastily.

  • @dtsbmx "Judging by your comment I bet you don't." Although it's easy to group someone into a rather broad stereotype, it cannot thoroughly describe a person.

  • Dear Vee, You ARE correct in all you observe. But, You know that even a simple chemical experiment, needs chemical compounds of the PUREST quality available, including personally DISTILLED water in the laboratory, for anything NEAR a successful experiment TO OCCUR in the LAB. This LIFE experiment, really needs US organic beings to maintain a PURITY of our own. GOD really gave us the natural tools to achieve a successful outcome. SATAN has been pissing into the distilled water. A-bombs, etc. etc.

  • Dads (human) are not perfect, despite what we may like them to be.

  • Although I do see your point, couldn't our love towards our parents and ultimately our god be considered honorarium in it's purest form? Also keep in mind that a large majority of philosophies assume that the creator is perfect. God himself said that he wants a relationship with us individually.

  • Dear Vee, Hypothetically speaking, I do not believe He, She, It requires any praise at all. I think when we look at our OWN creations, (Children, for example,) I think the very last thing we expect from them, would be an honorarium to US for the absolutely, certainly PERFECT dad that we are, and how our child WORSHIPS the ground we walk on for our giving that child its breakfast this morning. We just LOVE being in each other's company. This cynicism, invalidations, and I'm better than thou=SATAN

  • Just a hypothetical question--if a god worked in such a way that is totally predictable, would he be worth praising?

  • For those of you talking about how stupid this guy is because he talks about the electron as a wave, look up the dual slit experiment, which provides incredible evidence for the wave function. And if that isn't enough, look up the way chloroplasts work with such amazing efficiency--if I recall correctly, they work with nearly 90 percent efficiency, an efficiency not permitted by classical mechanics. The wave function predicts the efficiency perfectly. He knows what he is talking about.

  • Part 5: God does not exist, and THAT is a theory that the stupid sheep believe, as us intellectuals and men of science and reason do NOT believe in that "Opiate of the masses" malarkey! The fact that you, David, can think, and me too, and some LION is trying to figure out how to best sneak up on its prey, and how a roach will hide until the lights go out in the kitchen, and that ball of yours won't hit the wall until YOU through it, ALL is testimony to the divine will. "Do as thy Wilt," fools!!

  • Part 4 : on this planet and the inhabitants. It is like a 1950's grade "B" Sci-Fi Movie classic. except it is TRUE, by the same laws of Quantum Physics, that you've just explained to us. God willed the perfect LAWS of physics, and the SPIRITUAL laws for the higher forms to better get along. SATAN's law of "Do as thy wilt, That is the whole of the law," if it became the only law, would result in a gigantic, unregulated PLASMA BALL of chaos. The trouble stems from her stupid theories of (Con't)

  • Part 3: Influences ALL life. The key to understanding this is to realize, if this be true, God IS the matrix upon which all things exist, and He is represented by ALL forms of LIFE as the INTENTIONAL will behind all. If he exists, SO does SATAN and her boyfriend Lucifer. Some claim they are Aliens that have been GRAZING on men and women for over 6 thousand years. To scientists, this is as absurd a theory as the existence of GOD. Satan has been routinely doing FAILED genetics experiments (Con't)

  • Part 2: All that you see in this universe. Science thinks these viewpoints are antithetical. The days of Galileo dropping a ball and a feather into the Pisa tower are long gone. Men are trying to understand the subatomic structures and their behaviors. We are now in the same arena as the existence of God. You can no longer SEE the obvious TRUTH in things. you may PREDICT stuff. Just like the old example of invisible AIR will stir the branches on a tree, so too the invisible GOD, (Con't)

  • Dear David, Great video. Thanks. If I may, let me offer you an explanation that fuses the two worlds of Science and Religion. There are TWO fundamental viewpoints that are apparently at WAR with one and other. The scientific view that if you can NOT see it happening in an empirical fashion in the universe, SCIENTIFICALLY, that is, IT IS NOT TRUE. ERGO, Science will lead us to TRUTH of how things work. ALL Religions claim that it is a GOD, or prime mover, who engineered and designed (Continued )

  • What is that "barrier" (1:40) supposed to be made of?

If it's not made of matter (how could it?), it might be easier for people to get their heads around all this. Obviously the model of a ball bouncing on a wooden plate doesn't make it more understandable. But e.g. 2 or 3 out of 1000 identical fish captured in a perfect fish net could free themselves and the fisher will never find out which hole they went through. He might just say: "There seems to be an uncertainty to this". ...just saying ;-)

  • To all RELIGIOUS people thinking about commenting here, take note :

This is a video about UNCERTAINTY AND PROBABILITIES, something your FAITH CAN'T DEAL WITH since you need ready-made answers.

To all you insecure brothers and sisters, relax and enjoy not knowing for sure : you'll feel less stress, honestly!

    Cheers!

  • Whoever made this video is an idiot. The electron IS a point particle. The electron DOES orbit the nucleus. Those facts have nothing to do with the probability cloud. The probably cloud relates to attempting to MEASURE the location of the electron (which for all intents and purposes is impossible; hence the concept of the probability cloud). So, in summary, the jackass who created this video is mixing apples and oranges. Thank you.

  • I will also admit that I am not that well read on this subject, and having an oppinion on this topic may not even be justifiable; I apologize for my ignorance.

  • Errrr...what????

  • I doubt this phenomenon is any more likely at the sub atomic level, you are merely increasing your odds of seeing it by looking at a larger number of 'objects' in a plane at once.

  • @howaral this is one of the most verified theories in science and you would be unable to comment on it if it weren't true because the electronics in your computer all depend on it being so. Do you really think it didn't occur to people a century ago that it might be just statistical and still a local and deterministic phenomenon? It was shown by Bell that reality is necessarily nonlocal and any other theory must have this property (nonlocality) to accurately explain it.

  • @wkrepelin I agree with the theory, im just saying that if you had an unlimited supply of tennis balls and continuously shot them at a lead wall, eventually one would go through....but it may take so much time for that to happen that you would measure time not in years, but in expansion and contraction cycles of the universe.

  • Quoted from unkown source....

  • Another tangential note, if I was an evolutionary biologist I would be insulted if someone equated evolutionary biology with Darwinism only. Evolutionary biology is so much more than Darwinism in much the same way a physicist is not a Newtonist .But they are not teaching this to the public Like Newtonian physics , Darwin's theory could not explain a lot of things (Cambrian explosion etc.) in much the same way Newtonian physics could not explain the subatomic world etc

  • @docmbc323 You are absolutely right. But the problem is that quantum physics, if you really want to do it and not just fantasize about it, requires a lot of high level math that cannot - and does not need to - be taught in high schools. On the other hand, of course, on an elementary or 'fairy tale' level it should be mentioned so that a 'not scientist' can also respect and understand the enterprise called 'physics' and the work done by people called 'physicists'.

  • So has anyone seen the equivalent religious doctrine making a 180 degree switch like what we see in theoretical physics, clinical medicine, etc? Do we see scientists and medical researchers going to war over discordant theories and beliefs about scientific data? This is what we need to be teaching to the public! (Unfortunately, there will always be a scientist who is "dogmatic" because, after all scientists are human too and as such, their respective pupils may perceive science to be dogmatic.)

  • Thus, there is no scientific "dogma" because science is not dogmatic about itself! It's always willing to look inwards and overturn previous scientific doctrines if the experimental observations hold up!

  • This happens right in front of the layman's face when they hear the newest medical breakthrough that overturns previous misconceptions about a disease process. They look at this as a sign of the fallacy of medicine but to me, it is a healthy sign that researchers are not content with accepting previously established dogma.

  • But this is the very essence of why science is so amazing! It constantly looks at itself and asks itself is this right? Are there other explanations? Are we content with staying where we are at and not pursuing alternate experimental data etc.

Thus, when science turns around and changes its mind, to the non scientist, it is a sign of fallacy, to a scientist it is the very essence of why the scientific method is still amazing and very open minded and "non dogmatic" about itself!

  • @docmbc323 have you ever read a piece of literature with underlying meaning? or are you unable to let go of literal translation or biased sarcasm? How does one prove any facts scientifically if he/she insults a side they do not take. Science is understanding. Not biased assumptions; when the argument turns biased, the meaning of science is highly misrepresented. Yeah. Im a troll. You just made a new scientific discovery! Maybe another future genius can challenge your theory in 100 years.

  • @nthomson when did i ever make a biased assumption? i was merely stating that nothing is proven from experience since each person goes through and experiences different things. I called you a troll in response to your comments on some other poster

  • @docmbc323 You must be a very bored liberal. One lacking truth. Experience is the proof of all things. One must be conscious to experience. You must be asleep, so wake up now and touch reality. Consequently, i fear you wont understand how life feels since you're like the walking dead, blurting out garbage that you don't even understand. You are like the preacher who molests children. A hypocrite. An abomination. You couldn't comprehend simplicity, let alone the universe. You are a troll correct?

  • @nthomson you are clearly a hypocritical idiot. "How does one prove any facts scientifically if he/she insults a side they do not take" Thanks for the laughs i dont want to waste my time on an idiot such as your self. Keep spewing your garbage about not understanding and such when its clearly you that is moron with no skills at comprehension. Good luck with your idiotic life troll.

  • @nthomson oh, by the way opening any comment with you must be a (liberal/republican/democrat/etc) really discredits any possible chance that you might be intelligent or that i can possibly have nay type of intelligent conversation with you. So i will leave you with that and wont be responding to any more of your idiotic comments for fear being associated with an idiot such as yourself. Good luck with your sad excuse of life

  • @docmbc323 LIke i mentioned, you lack truth. You, like every liberal, jumps away from answering the question, which is why i said that. don't be so defensive mister ego. What makes you confuse intelligence with an ego? You couldn't have a conversation on a realistic level period. You proved it by getting all pansy instead provided a knowledgeable response. You are stuck in your own head, full of yourself, and i guarantee you are not any better than the rest of us here on planet earth. Wake up.

  • @nthomson and not because of your beliefs, whatever they are....

  • @docmbc323 Nonsense. Edison endorsed DC and criticised Tesla's AC. Just like Einstein endorsed relativity and criticised Heisenberg's theory of quantum mechanics. You say "science" like it's all one person changing their mind when in fact, people defend their ideas to the death and science as a whole changes over time. It's like saying "Religion constantly looks at itself and asks itself is this right? Are there other explanations?" just because the Greek and Roman pantheons have died out.

  • Thumbs up if Portal 2 got you here.

  • Umm, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but nuclear fusion begins in a star when it's core is at 10 Million K. The sun's core is approximately 15 Million K. Nuclear fusion is most definitely going on because of heat inside our star. That's why it's on the Main Sequence. Please check your facts next time.

  • portal brought me here

  • @nthomson Do you see where i'm from? You know what goes on with our country? can you really say in all your glorious well endowed studies of karl marx's theory of communism you can call me that?big picture? fuck sake where do you get your idealism from? go pick up a real book and then you will be a real boy you little dick!

And your fuckin right i'm tellin ye because you are on here blabberin away wasting your time instead of out romancing or writing songs. He knows his truth, you know yours!!!

  • @TheSmoonge

They take a look at the Bible as an ancient religious text and its "archaeological evidence" (as you put it) as archaeologists trying to figure out history, instead of as religious "leaders" just trying to look for ways to "prove" their beliefs.

(So basically, the technique is similar to how modern archaeologists read/uses the Illiad to help figure out Ancient Greek history, only w/the Jews, the Abrahamic god, and the Jewish Old Testament instead of the Greeks, the Greek pantheon,

  • @TheSmoonge

Ok, so after reading a few more of your comments, I think there's a documentary that you should see that could likely change the way you view religious texts and probably your life. It's from PBS' NOVA series (so it's REALLY good).

It's called "The Bible's Buried Secrets," (you can find it here on YouTube) and they basically show you how archaeologists read religious texts in their search of history. They take a look at the Bible as an ancient religious text and its "archaeologica

  • @TheSmoonge

WOW. Let me guess..."you're not a witch," right? LOL!!!

  • I am scared of some of these commentators.

  • @nthomson@endimion17 Do people come on here looking for an argument? you spend a lot of time wasting your energies on bad mouthing each other instead of sitting back and realising that your truth is not somebody else's, you control what you believe and thats all you can do unless you have proof, so for the argument both of you are neither correct or incorrect you are both just a little bit lost like the rest of us, learn to accept that and respect each others opinions.

  • @santirock69 The only one arguing, is the one who calls me creationist when i never said i was. Is assumptions factual? No. Like most anti god science folk, they already have biased opinions, therefore not respecting the opinion of the opposing side because they only insult what they dont understand. I speak truth from personal experience. What makes you so special to tell me other wise? you sound like a communist and dont get the bigger picture.

  • It's creepy to see that every video on something scientific and extraordinary gets trolled by American religious fundamentalists. OMG, the world is laughing at you. It's unbelieveable.

How is it possible that suck an advanced country contains so much dumbasses? It's a paradox!

  • @endimion17 Science only explains the physical realm. Even science is showing that the universe has a consciousness. Look up double slit experiment on youtube and you'll see how electrons behave completely differently when being observed compared to when they are not.

Do you really think that our DNA and our bodies in how they're put together with all the parts fitting so well and doing it's part for a greater whole, system with purpose, happened by chance? And you're calling us dumbasses???

  • @TheSmoonge You may want to return to school, and take some biology classes at that. You'll find that the DNA of your genome and the sequences that code for your "unique" functions are conserved throughout species and evolution (yes, evolution). In addition to that, during your development you have a tail. I think it's fair to say that if there is a God, we, and especially you, are not intelligent enough to comprehend him (it). BTW, what is your great purpose for the system?

  • @TheSmoonge On another note, don't try to argue such complex ideas when you can't even put sentences together correctly. I think you meant "even science is showing that the universe has a conscious" not consciousness. Also, you said "...so well and doing it's part for a greater whole.." when you put an apostrophe on "it" to make it "it's" your saying "it is" and clearly it doesn't make sense in your context. No one will ever take you seriously, even if you have a good argument, which you don't.

  • @TheSmoonge It shows, so what?

No, science is not showing universe has consciousness.

And yes, I know what a double slit experiment is, and you clearly don't understand it. "Observing" doesn't mean that someone is looking at the experiment. It means there's a machine measuring (measuring=interfering) it, and because electrons are so tiny, results change.

I'm not saying it happened by chance, but it is the most probable explanation. Everything natural you see CAN be made by natural selection.

  • @endimion17 You are a naturally selected idiot. You spend half your argument playing "english professor," because you know you are full of shit, and need to cheap shot, and zig zag through the argument (because your smarts is memorized text, that is not experience), giving you a false sense of expertise. You are like a guy who read "how to be a doctor" and then self proclaimed yourself to actually be one. Correct this for me - shit full are You of! You are too selfish to comprehend god, princess

  • @nthomson So you know shit about the double slit experiment, and proceed to ad hominem. I win.

  • @endimion17 Wow, i didnt know we were competing. Where are you from, the special olympics? Theres plenty of winners there. Maybe you are one of them. You want a trophy for your Mr Intellectual Jerk Off of the year award? what do you know about using your own consciousness instead being a dreadful, parrot-like zombie. You cant even see you are like the walking dead. Full of yourself but know nothing about yourself, let alone, any real truth, just a mirage of politically correct verbal diarrhea.

  • @nthomson We were never competing. I won in the first second.

  • @endimion17 yea, the special award like i said. You are a hack. You are as laughable as the big bang theory. Science hasn't even scratched the surface of why the human brain works, hence why you haven't figured out how to use your own. You just spoon feed yourself information, unable to decipher true from fallacy. You are a hack. Thats al

    l.

  • @nthomson And you're a creationist. That's one of the worst insults I can imagine. Cheers, mate!

  • @endimion17 Who said i was a creationist?! I dont subject myself to categories. Thats for petty, un-creative people who need a title to prove a point because they themselves cannot, like you, who only gives your attention to one side, one category. That is not very scientific of you.

  • @endimion17 I am not a creationist. If you are calling me that, when i am not, then how can anything you say be factual period if i proved you false on your judgment? When a person believes in god, they are not automatically a creationist. How confused are you really?

  • @nthomson lol cause all of your "religious" experience has answered what we dont know? Please you are making yourself look utterly retarded by your comments. They have a nmae for commentors such as yourself, they are known as TROLLS!!! "But trolls dont exist in the bible??" You are living proof my friend!!

  • @endimion17 Really? You mean like how mammal babies can drink momma's breast milk and breathe at the same time? Tell me, how did that happen by natural selection? Did the first ones not work and it gradually evolve into working mechanisms? That doesn't make much sense does it? If the first ones didn't work, how would they survive to pass on the genes? And if that mechanism, which is very complex and with purpose, worked correctly the first time around, then there's no need for evolution...

  • @TheSmoonge Oh for fuck sake, go and read some fucking books on the matter. I won't educate you years of study material over few hundred characters in the comment field.

Or you can stay a dumb, duped American creationist, I don't care. Just stay away from the Senate.

  • @endimion17 Good answer. I knew you'd side-step the truth. The fact of the matter is, you know it's not possible. I state something that is simple and logical and you can't refute it.

I'm not duped, I used to believe in evolution, but then started thinking for myself and questioning it. The only one that's duped here pal, is you!

  • @TheSmoonge Understanding evolution takes years of studying biology, biochemistry, microbiology, chemistry, physics, astronomy, geology, oceanography, meteorology etc.

Sadly, laymen like you can only choose to believe or not, because you lack the proper knowledge to understand it. Iz isn't in the domain of faith. Evolution is a natural, proven process described by something called "modern evolutionary synthesis theory",which is the strongest available scientific theory,in an everlasting upgrade.

  • @endimion17 well, that's like saying unless you're a certified mechanic or car designer, you're not qualified to say that someone did or didn't make the car. I don't need to know every little detail about the car to know that someone made it.

Secondly, I'm older than you probably and have studied evolutionary theory since I was in grade school. All those supposed "steps" in evolution aren't evolution at all because of the fact that if they were, you'd see it today. End of subject. *waves* =)

  • @TheSmoonge You're clearly a product of a bad teacher that wasn't able to explain the basics of the theory, so now you attack something of which you only think modern evolutionary theory is.

It is impossible to deny evolution. It's a solid fact as the existence of atoms (explained by atomic theory) or gravity. Genetics and molecular biology present us extreme amounts of solid evidence.

Only the theory behind evolution can be molded, and it actually is, every year, as we learn more and more.

  • @endimion17 it's impossible to deny evolution? LOL really? I'm not the product of a bad teacher, because I used to believe in evolution because of my teachers. It's only when I sat down and really thought about it and researched it more on my own that I knew it was a scam. Tell me something, how is evolution true when all those so-called "transitional fossils" aren't compatible with one another? Or why there's no gradual transitional species today? Mammals, lizards, amphibians, fish, etc..

  • @TheSmoonge They're bad cause they made you believe it, instead understanding it.

You couldn't think about it ("research"? - you really think the Web with tons of creationist shit pretending to be scientific is the place for a laymen to learn?) because your teachers failed to make the base,so you can't build the "building",get it?

Why don't you try to thwart some of the huge amounts of evidence from molecular biology?

    You're looking at evolution from a 19th century standpoint.Get an update,man.

  • @endimion17 evolutionists always assume that we creationists don't understand evolution. It's pretty simple, really. Random mutations + natural selection = evolution. Did I get the formula wrong? It's pretty sad that you believe my information comes from creationist websites. My information comes from watching and reading evolution websites as well. A good scientist doesn't "take sides" as you are doing. He/she simply states the facts, which I've always done and which you haven't refuted.

  • @TheSmoonge "" there's no gradual transitional species today "" ? rlly now. WHERE YOU SERIOUS WHEN YOU SAID THAT ?

  • @TheSmoonge evolution is something that is evolving as well, it isnt just one giant theory anymore, but a bunch of different working ideas. similar to how physics began as newtonian physics alone but then we found out about Quantum mechanics which explained alot more things that were left un-answered by newtonian physics alone, the idea of evolution works the same way

  • @TheSmoonge

". Even science is showing that the universe has a consciousness."

No, it's not. Stop making stuff up.

  • @MomoTheBellyDancer Sir Roger Penrose and Stuart Hameroff developed a theory proposing a conscious connection between quantum computing in brain microtubules, and the most fundamental level of spacetime geometry. Evidence in recent years has shown brain non-locality in precise EEG coherence, reverse time and even various ‘parapsychology’ results, as well as functional quantum effects in DNA, ion channels and microtubules. Quantum non-local consciousness could possibly extend outside the brain

  • @TheSmoonge

"Sir Roger Penrose and Stuart Hameroff developed a theory"

No, it's a hypothesis, and it still doesn't state that the universe has a consciousness.

  • @TheSmoonge I suggest taking a look at Victor Stenger's two books, "Quantum Gods: Creation, Chaos, and the Search for Cosmic Consciousness" and "The Unconscious Quantum: Metaphysics in Modern Physics and Cosmology." He explains why ideas like Penrose's are extremely unlikely to be true, and why the majority of scientists don't accept it.

  • @endimion17 i think your a dumbass. you are not any where closed to being advanced. Your a sheep. A little fucking lamb. Unable to see how much of a slave you really are. If you do not understand both, then you are a dumbass. You use big words to describe things you have zero experience in the world that probably laughs at you all fucking day. What, are you a liberal socialist immoralist?

  • @endimion17 The advanced country has it's advancements due to the people that came before, those that are there now just use it.

    Paradox solved.

  • @endimion17 its not just america, theres people like that everywhere.

  • @endimion Religious fundamentalists and 'scientific' fundamentalist

have alot in common. Both think they have ALL the answers.

Both are extremely closed minded into what doesn't fit into their

dogma. Both are egocentric know it alls that are incapable

    of seeing their own foolishness.

Good luck religious & scientific fundamentalist, you make

    the universe a lesser place!!!

  • @fntime "Scientific fundamentalists" is an oxymoron. There can be no fundamentalism in the concept of science, because it requires logic. There are so called "scientific" fundamentalists, which are usually people which don't distinguish technology and science, and could therefore be classified in the scientism sector. Although there are very few of them, and extreme amounts of religious fundamentalists, I agree on your remark that they have a lot in common. For example, they're all dumbasses. :)

  • @endimion17 "There is more under heaven and earth than are in your philosophy"

Good definition of scientist, too bad most scientist are humans with all of their

    foibles, ego, pride, inflexibility.

Logic is a 'thought' program. Very useful if applied properly, but not the only

    effective and workable program.

My kind of 'scientist' is a truth seeker and isn't afraid to go where the truth

takes them, which is easier said than done.

Good luck on your journey to truth!!!!!

  • @endimion17 When American intellectuals conquered this land...at the time they believed in racial theories....so they indiscriminately got massive populations from Europe, and not like today where you can immigrate to U.S from anywhere if you have the right stuff......so that is why you have so many following Palin or Rush Limbaugh/ FAUX NEWS ...Basically, for modern American intellectuals they are paying the price of yesteryears fallacies. Rush Limbaugh, Palin...they have supporters!! SCARY!!!

  • @endimion17 Well, the thing that you don't understand is that quantum mechanics and science in general is often misrepresented and taken advantage of by the people who want to attack religion. I have much respect for the real scientists but it is easy to take the implications of quantum mechanics and twist it into support for new age beliefs as seen in "What the bleep". Religious people are on guard because of charlatans like Michio Kaku, Richard Dawkins and Steven Hawkings who attack them.

  • @seudonak People you named are by no means connected to the whole New Age stupidity. In fact, they furiously fight against it.

  • @endimion17 Nope, you're totally wrong. You need to do some more homework. They are funded, controlled and directed by new age mystery schools. They are major proponents of new age thinking, but in a more subtle way. You can think of them as a gateway from true religion into the new age mystery schools.

  • @seudonak You clearly have no idea what are they talking about. "In a more subtle way"? Where, in your head? What is that, a triple reversed phychology?

Kaku is dealing with the technology of tomorrow, Dawkins is promoting critical thinking (and bashing New Age), and Hawking is dealing with top theoretical physics. OK, Kaku and Hawking, people probably don't know what are they doing, but Dawkins? I think you just hate them because they confront mainstream religion. That's what's bothering you.

  • NOOOOO

  • I wish you idiots would stop starting religious flamewars on here......

  • While I don't disagree per se, you can explain why the sun shines using Maxwell-Boltzmann statistics, indeed QT perhaps can be viewed as a Quantum counterpart to this and be in part be responsible for macroscopic effects we lump under the improbable but not 0 probability of temperatures stretching out from the mean of a Maxwell-Boltzmann distribution.

Having said all that I still think you could have picked a more clear cut example like alpha decay etc...

  • Most of us in high school did not give a healthy shit regarding anything that you're trying to express.

  • Why do all Religious people think that atheists are wrong because they "can't disprove God"? You can't assert that something is true on the basis that it hasn't/can't be proven false. I assert that the universe was crapped out by an octopus made of pepperjack cheese last February, and all memories from before that period are the creation of the divine CheddarPus. You can't disprove it, so by Christian "logic" it must be true. Any converts?

  • The sun is hot enough to fuse carbon and most likely silicon so the example cited in this video is wrong

  • @planckinstein

you sir, are a retard, but that is not intelligent. most scientists are atheists. i have converted people to atheism. and you, seem like one of those stupid STUPID religious belivers who close doors. if you want me to belive in god, prove the idea, to my eyes that it is possible. oh, and by the way, i WAS BORN into religion. my parents are trying to force-feed me it, but i didn't respond.

  • I've always held the belief that religion is a tool for explaining that which we can't possibly explain using science. After all, religions were all formed at a time when science was extremely primitive. Any after that time are spinoffs or based on current knowledge. Humans like to have an explanation for everything. I'd guess that the psychology behind this is that if we can explain everything, then we can interpret and predict everything, finally allowing us to survive anything.

  • @planckinstein

    you sir, are an idiot

  • Couldn't it be just a little bang, for all of the average guys?

  • Oh man, from now on i will only run through doors! Man I would like to see the face on the people who see me running through a door!

  • @excepto94 Yes but a door is not a door when it is ajar!

  • good video. the lovely thing is that the SIGNAL-to-NOISE ratio of the comments reflect the genuine disinterest in fact, information and the sometimes oxymoron of "human intelligence" ... thank goodness for computers and ... er ... observation =)

  • How big is the probability of quantum tunneling through such barriers?

  • iv been throwing the ball at the wall for an hour and it hasnt gone through the wall yet... il keep trying and get back to you

  • We could use a few less people loosley interpreting models to add, magic to the universe. The probability spheres are just that, they do not describe a particles ability to teleport, but instead stand in for the fact that, in the world of the very small you cannot measure exact values. Because no imaginable object of observation, could measure a system without changing it. Imagin you are blind and the only way you can find a helium balloon is to touch it, this would move it.

  • intresting explanation but i might add that we dont truly understand what exactly happens in the sun so other forces come in play like gravity pressure and what if a molecule travels straight in to another molecule and its then repeled by other molecules on its way to a certain poin this would give it more energy to get past the forces repelling it although all this is assumption so i may be incorrect but good explenation anyways

  • This video was not at all helpful.

  • science of PORTAL 2

  • What is the mathematical relationship between the the radius (or volume) of this probability cloud and the probability of finding the electron in any particular position? How far does this cloud extend? Presumably there is no finite limit. I wonder if the probability of locating the electron at a particular position is inversely proprtional to the square or the cube of the distance from the centre of the cloud.

  • I'm wondering how this relates to biology. I read in one of my text books (cell biology) that the electron transport chain (in mitochondrial membranes) is allowed to work because of quantum tunneling. Quantum tunneling allows the electrons to make 'jumps' of up to 2nm inside the membrane. Do you have any further insight into this phenomenon and how it works?

  • @tkkanno I don't know but I know heavy water (D2o) stops this process from happening if you have 25 - 50% of it in your body i hope this helps towards the Nobel.

  • Concerning quantum tunneling, might it be possible that stars are more likely to exist at certain positions because of wave addition from nearby hot stars? Maybe the summation of the waves at these spots adds to a certain frequency which is necessary for the fusion process.

  • @diginess78 I don't think that's likely, due to the tiny innate "size" of wave quanta. Because of this there are likely to be just too many possible "allowed" resonances for it to have an observable effect. Other factors such as gravity play a much bigger role, so would swamp any impact that random resonances might have...if indeed they aren't entirely self-cancelling at any observable scale.

  • i repeated the video 5 times and why im still lost, am i that dumb??

  • I have no idea what you just said

  • Please add subtitle

  • In reference to your question "What do you think?" I think that god was invented man. As for the video, I it was good but your effort to justify the lack of mathematical proof sounded a lot like theist efforts to justify god. If you cannot prove it with math then you probably have the wrong answer. Don''t be insulted, Einstein's magical Cosmological Constant formula is still being used to this very date.

  • FUCK OFF RUINING THE GOOD VIDEO WITH DAMN RIGHT STUPID GOD TALK! THERES NO GOD. END OF.

  • @JamesTomChloeJane you mean i'm not god? ...what will I tell my friends, they want me to save the world

  • @JamesTomChloeJane Who are you trying to convince, yourself or someone else?

  • @betastate And you come to the conclusion that 'of course there is a god' by how many times he has helped you? Explain, please...

  • @KoutetsuTenshin Well I came to that conclusion after various stuff that is all personal and does not apply to anyone else. The human knowledge no longer obeys reason put percentages. A new discovery on a molecular level always relies on that 99.9% moment that you go crazy when you see. And since there is no other way to test it , believes are built around it. At the end of the day you believe in numbers you don't understand and even build further understanding based on those numbers...

  • @betastate So you came to that conclusion and present no verifiable evidence. I guess we're just supposed to take you at your word.

  • @KoutetsuTenshin Do they present any verifiable evidence? If the universe is infinitly big why can't it be infinitly small? :) Does there exist a mathematicly 100% consistent theory that tells us weather the LHC quest is even possible? Moreover what invention came out of such bullshit "proven" quantum effects to visibly prove that they are real and not just a mathematical explenation of an unknown phenomenon...

  • @betastate So just because science doesn't know with 100% certainty (which will never be the case if you knew anything about science), that means god did it. Okay, so god did it. What then? That doesn't enrich understanding, doesn't provide any valuable information and we cannot base any future testing on that finding. What a profound conclusion you just made.

  • @KoutetsuTenshin You sir , are fucking stupid. Please answer me honostly: If you are given the readouts of the subatomic collisions at the LHC or any other particle accelerator how will that enrich you? :) Tell me what principle was put to use becouse of those new particles that changed anything? It's all very theoretical and the reason why people tell you to believe in god here is becouse you have beome religous about those numbers. You logic has fundamental gaps.

  • @betastate Please, if you're going to call me stupid, don't make several typos in the same breath. Learning about the natural world enriches our understanding on how the universe works, and we can apply that knowledge to future experiments and be able to make accurate predictions. Saying god did it doesn't do that; it leaves us right where we started. Just because something this theoretical doesn't mean it isn't valuable. Learn the scientific meaning of the word theory.

  • @KoutetsuTenshin i dont know what you are arguin about, but you are arguin so there fore i can call you stupid, seems u has forgottenz, that internet fights are like special olimpics.

  • @betastate Science doesn't give a shit about God.

  • @gregrutz¿ Hablas en nombre de los científicos o del tuyo? Si fueras Científico escribirías con sentido común- en caso que no sepas Español: Do you speak by all scientists or by yourself? If you were a scienist, you would write with common sense.

  • @gregrutz That is probably the most unscientific statement I've ever heard in my life.
