what's cool is yip man takes time on the dummy. good form. That's perfect. The problem i see with all these other videos is people rush through the damn dummy.
Even though Grandmaster Yip Man was very ill at the time of filming this video and died only a week later, he's strength and mastery in movement and technique are still evident.
Wow Talon. You really are quite the man. This is a long dead man filmed one week before he died of cancer. There is NO muscle use in Wing Chun, only tendon and hence there is no musvle development. I'm a skinny guy and I can support a 220 pound guy on my tan sau without tension (his feet off the ground). Groew up

No disrespect to the old man indended. But anyone must admit that these techniques lack any power at all, and are a complete waste of time for anyone interested in self defense.
I bet he could. Pretty much all the grand masters are skinny like that. Even Bruce Lee is skinny. But if u judge the booko by the cover all the time, u will get your ass whooped by one of these skinny masters some day.
@bigkorean1 The original song is actually Cheung Kwan ling. Wong fei fung theme got it from this song. In english the song is translated as General's Order. 將軍令
Cool: I do WC in an Ip Ching-lineage school, and am just learning the dummy form. It's virtually identical to this film, which means I'm getting some good, undiluted WC from my instructors.
Bad: William Cheung's dummy-form. Check it out. It's NOTHING like the form as performed by Ip Man, and good for a laugh.
well...i bong shao like this on the dummy and my sifu tells me iam doing it wrong,go figure LOL that's the best way i can explain it...i guess i need a new teacher or basically just listen to my intuition,at the end of the day your best teacher is you ;)i think this footage was taken about a year before he died by the way...imagine him when his was in his 40's
Great job!Really thank you for posting those videos here!:)

He did this when he was 79 and one week before he died of throat cancer. We should all respect him. Long live grandmaster Yip Man's legacy.

Awesome.. he included so much foot work and there's plenty of power in his blocks and strikes.

it is unbelievable that he died of cancer few weeks after these performances, which were really amazing for a man at his age. RIP Ip Man

the name of the music is actually " Jeong Kwan Ling". Wong Fei Hung's music was taken from it and made it into a song.
