The fight system on DS makes the use of multiple weapons a fun thing.

And considering it's an RPG, DS at least have a story to make you laugh instead of the same kingdom bullshit.

I'm playing this crap on my nokia and i must say it's not that good for a PS3. Unless PS3 version is improved each character has 16skills. Most of them do similar damage/same per second, but act differently (thank god for that), different cast speed, push back teleport etc.... If i dared to compare this to any diablo It would go slighly below diablo 1, since D1 had way more complex gameplay... + D1 like what.... erm 15 years older? SO much older and still better in every area exept for graphics?

Am I weird for not liking the feature he talks about at 3:25? I mean I do, but at the same time, what's the point of games like this if you're not at doing some sort of analysis of gear, if not full number crunching like I did for WOW. I mean I wasn't a good player at all, but with WOW, I had a spreadsheet of my spells, DPS, etc. Just curious if anybody else agrees with me, or thinks I'm weird for thinking that the point of these games is complexity like that.

@SilentBob420BMFJ A lot of games have this auto-equip feature, and it rarely ever equips the truly best equipment. A lot of the time, these systems equip, for example, the best sword based on attack power, when another sword with lower attack power increases your stats in some way and is in reality better for you. I don't see how it would ever interfere with the number crunching, unless the game lacks depth, in which case, you wouldn't be doing much number crunching anyway.

Flat out one of the best PS3 games to date by a long shot. Fun as hell. Only problem with it I would say is the load time between areas. Other than that, I give it like a 9.5 out of 10, and that's saying a lot because I'm usually pretty harsh.

- Poor target system.

- If one player has more Magic Find than others, only items for that player drop, absolutely 0 drops for others.

- Right gear never drops, after countless hours of grinding for items, we both still get 1shot from bosses (mage + assassin)

All in all, don't waste your money, get a case of beer, you'll get much more fun out of it.

Balrog isnt just in lotr, its a pretty universal creature normally called a giant horned demon or sometimes giant gargoyle, its also in other games like for instance ultima online (its called balron in it) in some games its more of a gargoyle like creature (man eaters in demons souls for instance)

No you can't adjust the controller configuration, and yes you can play new game plus with your characters.

@Calamaistr Yeah there's actually both.

You get a dodge stat, which is mainly increased through the dexterity attribute. If you successfully dodge an attack, there's an animation where your character sort of leans to the side and you take no damage.

The block stat is different in that there's no animation, and you still take a small amount of damage. for example a bandit will usually hit me for 200 damage, but if I block I'll only take maybe 10.

@Calamaistr The thing that keeps block on par with dodge though is that it's a lot easier to increase your block chance than it is your dodge chance. Especially if you're playing as the warrior class, as that has a passive ability that you can put points into that will greatly increase your base block chance. Plus the lack of an animation means that your attacks don't get interrupted.

@Calamaistr Oh I forgot to say.. The block stat is increased by putting points into the endurance attribute. It's sort of set up so that block is for warriors, and dodge is for rouges. But there's nothing stopping you from making a warrior with high dexterity, or a rouge with high endurance. You'll still be able to finish.

If you play the game (or the demo) you can find all of this info in the help section of the pause menu. Everything you need to know is there, unlike in most other RPGs lol.

There's a glitch while walking sometimes but it don't take away from the action. Also the load times are kinda long. I tried to play online but it was a bitch to find someone to game with and when i finally did people would drop the controller to go and do something for a long time it got really annoying, twice that happened so i didnt even really get to try multiplayer? It is a great 1 player game for only 12 bucks in the US and well worth it!
