  • i remember this! this was classic!

  • it's weird. Dorian was being caring and hateful at the same time

  • This episode was noteworthy because for the first half hour, there was NO music score. Only the thunder sound effect. When Jean Randolph takes over and you hear the piano, it's the second half.

  • I watched these episodes when they first aired in February 1995 and was glued to the television. This was daytime drama at its most intense. Before I realized it was Tommy, I thought it was Viki herself that had thrown Dorian down the stairs, consdiering how she hated her. I just sat there with my mouth open through the commercial break that followed that scene. Michael Malone was probably OLTL's last great head writer, and the intensity of these scenes will probably never be seen again.

  • I've asked before. & I'll ask again ... Is the actress that plays Viki's mother the same that played her psych, Susanna Hanen (sp?),.Nora's sister, in later episodes ?

Excellent writning, excellent direction, excellent sound, EXCELLENT ACTING from two of the best. This storyline was a soap lover's dream, right up there with B.J.'s death/Maxie's heart transplant on GH. SOOOOO sad they don't make 'em like that anymoe. Thank you YouTube.

  • "YOU STUPID UGLY BITCH"

  • Car Phone (1995) ;) BTW..I love Jean!

  • What I find amazing is that the storyline had a huge history with Victor, Dorian and Viki,an amazing set of stories in between, and then an actual ending that made sense. It was just superbly written, utilizing history and the best actors. Of course, it can't compare to some shirtless newbies who almost got accepted into acting school, but even when I was in my 20s, I always thought the best stories involved the older actors like Viki, Dorian, Bobbie Spencer, Nikki Newman, Donna Love, etc.

  • "Oh god, I hate the hair."

    Fantastic...

  • I seriously wonder what it would have been like to be someone on the crew that day... was everyone just holding their breath watching the amazing acting, tears in their eyes... God, it must've been epic to witness this in real life.

  • @JLGH4ever Kind of like seeing Joanne Woodward on stage in The Three Faces of Eve....

  • RIVETING!!! Unlike today. Today's soaps no longer have compelling MUST SEE stories, characters to root for, and actors who could actually ACT. They don't even have the ever popular and necessary Friday cliffhangers which made you wonder over the weekend WTF?? and what is going to happen now??? Today's soaps are just unbearable to watch. I'm sorry but shirtless hunks who can't act aren't enough!!

  • I regret not being a fan of this show during this time (born in 1990)... wow, i am an aspiring writer & can only hope to write a fraction of the material written then. And to also have actors with the fraction of talent as Erika & Robin... Hmm, i inspire for my stories to be this great!!!

  • Hmm..Who knew Dorian loved Jaguars or Jean for that matter? I'm guessing that's a 1994 XJ6 Sovereign or possibly the new 1995 XJ6(X300) model since this was shot in December of '94. Hard to tell in the dark lighting. Does anyone remember what happened to Dorian right after the car scene? Did Jean go to Philadelphia or straight to Llanfair?

  • Not surprising for Dorian, it's a top-of-the-line 1994 Jaguar XJ12 Vanden Plas limousine. Glad OLTL was able to utilize their budget well backing by providing Dorian Lord 1995's truly aristocratic equivalent of a brand new 6-figure luxury saloon and more importantly well-written storylines to give these powerhouse actresses great material. After Disney acquired them in 1996, the show's production decreased slowly in 1997 and sped up intensely with JFP in 1998-99.

  • Jean Randolph should come out now instead of Niki. It fits with the age bracket of todays Viki!

  • u stupid ugly bitch!!!

  • jean randolph was bad ass!!

  • This was around the same time as Days of Our Lives was doing "Marlena possessed by the Devil". After "Tommy" came out I wasn't sure which show I was watching. And the funniest thing is that EVERYTHING leading up to THIS(!) was SPELLBINDING TOO!!

"HOW!!!! DAVID HOW IN GOD'S NAME COULD IT GET ANY WORSE... THIS ENTIRE HOUSE OF CARDS YOU HAVE BUILT FOR YOURSELF HAS FALLEN DOWN AROUND ME... YOU ARE STILL LYING, SAYING YOU DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT THE MONEY! DORIAN KNEW IT ALL ALONG?"

  • @themirrorsofmymind I was doing the exact same thing switching between Marlena being possessed and viki being possessed lol.

  • Anybody out there that can answer my question-how many personalities did Vikke have? I remember Nikki, but was she the only one? If she had only one other personality, then I don't think she was truly a multiple.

  • @gotch09

Search "Victoria Lord" on Wikipedia. The page is AMAZING and gives background details on all the alternate personalities. Niki Smith, Tommy, Jean Randolph, Princess, Tori, Victor Lord

  • I've never seen a Youtube video's picture quality get distorted long after it gets uploaded before. At 3:31, the picture briefly messes up for a second. I've seen this video many times. It never had that picture distortion at 3:31 before now. (today is April 17, 2010).

  • Viki suffered from MPD for yrs. It is only in these episodes that reveal the origin of the others

  • I think that Niki made a brief appearance in these scene, as well (when Viki looks at Dorian with that evil look. That wasn't Tommy quite yet - but very brief Niki).

  • @TRAVISJAMES03 Only Tommy and Jean made an appearance on this night. Viki might have "acted like" a couple of the other personalities, but you have to remember that all of the other personalities are a part of Viki, and they always have been and always will be. However, only Tommy and Jean came out in this video (the night Dorian revealed the truth to Viki).

  • CDThe1, Princess popped in and out in these scenes too. Only Tori & the Persona of Victor Lord didn't make an appearance.

  • Erika's RADA training totally sold what could easily have been a ludicrous storyline.

  • Was the actress that played Viki's mother in this flasback the same actress that played Suzanna Hannon, the psychiatrist?

  • She sure looked like it, that would be wild if it were deliberate.

  • She not only looked like her she, sounded like her. I have had no luck finding a listing for the actress that played Eugenia in this episode. The actress that played Susannah was Maureen Anderman. I cannot find a credit that says she also played the role of Viki's mother in the flashback. I would be thankful if someone could answer this question,. i am a bit of a "continuity" buff.

  • i was never a big OLTL fan but this scene got me hooked. i'm always stopping by llanview to check in on viki and all her many faces. STUNNING acting here by both actresses. tommy and jean randolph scrae the entire crap out of me!!

  • This scene makes me wonder whether Irene Manning ever fell/was pushed down a flight of stairs.

  • I remember this scene very well. The amazing thing about it was realizing that Viki was about to have a D.I.D. episode and expecting Niki to show up, but then eventually realizing that it wasn't Viki or Niki that pushed Dorian down the stairs, and that it wasn't Viki, Niki or the 3rd personality who was "focused" afterwards.

Along with the Spring Fling gang rape, this really was OLTL's best storyline. Nothing they're doing now holds a candle to it.

  • yeah, for years, all everyone knew of was Niki. it was great in 1995, when we got to meet a whole new group of Viki's alters.

  • In a medium that is known for romance, this is the greatest scene in daytime history.

  • YEs it was along with Tracy withholding Edward's heart medication. Here is the lesson never turn you back on Crazy people!!!

  • Not only was this OLTL's last truly excellent storyline, it was very adult like and these scenes were impeccably produced, acted, scored, lit, and the camera work was stunning. And that music was haunting. OLTL no longer has musical scores-

These network people should be ashamed of what they have turned these shows into

  • Well said, I agree!

  • @upontheventura You are so right its horrible what they have turned OLTL into these days

  • @carrielovejoy Maybe they'll bring back Niki once Viki finds out about Charlie and Echo?

  • @StrumThatTofu YOU CALLED IT!! lol. That's exactly what they did. I'd like to see Tommy come back before he show goes off the air.

  • @upontheventura Probably why they're getting canceled =(

  • These are two true actors at work here. Amazing.

  • OLTL is horrible now

  • Bravo!1 Excellent Character history and rivieting performances make this great!! Dorian was the only person to go to the depths and deal with Victoria. Her nemisis knew .. Let this be a lesson never argue on stairs!!

  • Did dorian die after this? never seen this show, but looks interesting

  • No, believe me Dorian isn't a character 2 die. She'd keep coming back. She's still alive and kicking. You should really watch OLTL. Viki's daughter, Jessica now has DID 2.

  • As good as Mike Malone wrote for OLTL in the mid 1990's, I just don't understand why his second tenure wasn't a success as well.

  • I think I know why. I think he wrote that SPEW about the Tico and the Santi's to sabotage the show, because he was mad about being let go before! Bring on a whole family of Latino's and make them all criminals! I'm not even Latino (I'm black) and I thought it was disrespectfull CRAP!

  • @HawkgirlAndHerMase Two words: Brian Frons.

  • LOL @ 3:57-4:02!!!!

  • I hope Bree Williamson is studying these. As good as she is, Erika Slezak knows how DID is done.

  • I wish someone would post videos of Dorian locked in the secret room, those were some great scenes, and the later ones with Dorian and Tommy. These are truly some of the greatest sequences in the history of the genre. Even if Vicki's alters are high camp, its GOOD high camp, and these two great dames pulled it off magnificently.

  • Can someone tell me what happened after this? What did Jean do to Dorian?

  • She locked her into the secret room beneath Llanfair. It was one of the best storylines IMO. I loved this storyline.

  • Todd's Mother Irene Manning was Viki's College roomate! WOW -

  • WOW this is one of the best soap scenes I have ever seen in all my years watching them.

  • Did they get this from the book SYbil or what?

  • Erika is just...wow...she is amazing.

  • I love Jean....she's so precise, calculating, and efficient...and she does seem to have Viki's best interest at heart oftentimes

  • Jean is my favorite! Love watching her!

  • who is that that left dorian.i know thats not viki.

  • Jean Randolph one of Viki's more controlling very cold personalities, thought she was better than the others, that she had Viki's best intrest at heart.

  • I started watching OLTL during this storyline. Erika Slezak is AMAZING!! And I love the relationship between Viki and Dorian. It's one I find myself rooting for.

  • Ohh Jean always scared the bejeebas out of me. So evil, no emotion at all!

  • OMG! Look at Dorians' face right after Viki calls her a "Stupid Ugly Bitch!"

    LOL! Priceless!

  • My God, those stairs where not even that long when "Tommy" pushed Dorian down them!

  • the expression on viki's face as if she's about to throw up. who could blame her

  • Tommy pushed Dorian down the stairs at LaBoulet. This memory is from Llanfair which burned down twice since. ron

  • love the sound effects and editing

  • I don't like the sound of them actually. There to strong, I do however like the piano.

  • I never really understood - are alters watching what each other are doing? Or are they completely separate?

  • completely separate. they replace one another when one disappears.

  • However, an alter is usually aware of what the other alters are doing, and are almost always aware of what the "primary" personality is doing, since their whole purpose is to protect the primary.

  • really because Tess hates Jessica and what's to be out all the time

  • True. But Tess came into existence because Jessica's mind needed to protect itself from the horrible truth that she had been sexually abused. Even though Tess herself dislikes Jessica, she still protects her (remember how Tess wouldn't tell the Lord/Buchanans about the abuse?)

The same is true with Viki's alters, especially Jean Randolph and Tommy.

  • For the most part, all "alters" are aware of what's going on (espeecially the "host", the Jean Randolph type) - it's just the "waking self" (Viki) who has no idea of the others.

  • more of this storyline.. The videos I recored R not of quality can U help a Erika Fan out?

  • The D.I.D story was brilliant. I thought Jessica's rapist should have been either Viki's personality Victor or bring in the canvas of Blair's father and have him be the one who molested Jessica raped Addie and stalk Starr. It would be brilliant of the writers wrote Viki marrying Jessica's molester.

  • Jean Randolph: SUPERPIMP.

  • Yes, indeed, Robin Strasser and Erika Slezak are a powerhouse duo; and they play arch-enemies but are best friends in real life.

  • i wish i could see clips of niki smith from the 60's on

  • You and Me I would KILL to get ALL of the Gillian Spencer rendtion of Victoria Lord/Niki Smith I would NEVER log off youtube then lol

  • Tommy scares me, but I think Jean scares me even more LOL

  • Actually Tori was the one who scared me...that was one crazy bitch lol.

  • You got that right! Her and that damn Tommy LOL

  • the one who scared me was jean/niki they are so unpredicatable.tori and tommy are obvious jean and niki can be subtly dangerous

  • They don't have story lines like this any more on OLTL or AMC because they want young actors barely out of puberty. What a shame!

  • CDTHE1 do you have any videos with jean randulph in the secret room with dorian locked up?

  • Robin Srasser and Erika Slezak are the best couple in Soap Operas. The cemistry between them is amazing. The show has a new head writer. I hope he writes some stuff with these two powerful actress. OLTL really needs it.

  • classic daytime golden years... erika and robin....ultra in every way

  • i love erika slezak. i love niki smith so much.

  • These scenes are all so powerful. I wish I had been watching OLTL back then!! Brian Frons and Dena Higley are idiots for not giving storylines to Erika Slezak and Robin Strasser.

  • It is obvious when Jean comes out because Viki's vision blurs (Jean had to wear glasses because she couldn't see without them). Very ingenious!

  • Powerful!! Dorian should have had more Emmys.I would love to have seen Tracy Quartermaine involved in this somehow,

  • Long live Jean, the Queen of Mean!!! She needs to come back to Llanview (and Pine Valley while we're at it) and kick a little ass. Too many bad actors - esp. at AMC!

  • sfjaysin you aint lying about that ive been watching oltl since i was 6 and iam 27 now and i have to tell you in the past 12yrs the show has gone to hell in a hand basket iam especially sick of todd manning, and this new storyline with the white supremicist looks to be very dull

  • are there any episodes on here regarding dorian and her former nanny ms stonecliff or of niki smith?

  • amen! someone else who is as sick of Todd Manning as I am! Yahoo!!

  • There is a reason why she has 6 emmys. Those scenes between Dorian and Viki were RIVITING. I remember this happening. Back then I loved the show. It's such a pity how bad it is now. Of those personalities that emerged Jean was my favorite. She was so cold and smart.

  • incredible watching her face change from Tommy to Jean!

  • That was great. this all happened about 5 months before I started watching the show, so I always wished I could have seen what brought it all on.

  • actually fwdthinker they did bring these writers back in 2002 and they turned the show into a disaster.

  • Agreed. The show hasn't been great since these writers returned. I do also have to say as much as the story was great it went against every bit of the history of the show as well with big loopholes like why didn't Victor molest Meredith either. However these same writers destroyed it even more by bringing back Mitch and Victor from the dead and making Mitch Jessica's father, which old fans know couldn't possibly have happened.

  • As despicable as she was with her motive, Dorian WAS speaking the truth, as ugly as it was.

  • One of the classic moments from the show... Viki alter tossing Dorian down the stairs. I'll never forget this storyline, it was one of the best on OLTL. I miss the golden era of this show, has kinda lost its way now.

  • It's interesting as an actor/writer... Dorian keeps this going... She brings her end on herself.

  • i repected Tori she wanted the truth

  • I remember watching that! Shocking stuff. In a weird way, I liked Jean. I admired her calm, cold resolve.

  • Actually, I think that was Viki's personality "Tommy" who tossed Dorian down the stairs. However, it was Jean who came up with the idea to lock her up downstairs st Llanfair. They need to get THESE writers back to OLTL!

  • it was great to see Vikki finally snap and lose it. I never got a chance to see these scenes when they first aired so this has been a treat.

  • Wow!!! these scenes are so moving
