  • @TheNokie65 HOLY SHIT.THAT MUST HAVE BEEN INSANE.ALL GREAT MUSICIANS

  • tezzquill just seen Mr.Halford up close on the Epitaph Tour!! Along with Zakk Wylde!!!! What a concert Please dont Apologize for the vidoe qaulity thats what make it unique. I see the date is 1978 a year before I my Wife.I seen Preist twice indoors once outdoors. Thank You! Long Live Rock and Roll!!

  • Video quality sucks but it's over 3 decades old!! The true test of any band is how do they sound live compared to a recording? Judas Priest is one of the few bands whos musical quality is as good live as mixed a million times and very few bands can make that claim!!

  • unleashed is one of top ten albums of all time!!!

  • unleashed is a top ten album of all time!!!

  • 1:49 - 1:52 he makes noise w/o singing

  • This version kicks ass compared to the Joan Baez original! Odd they'd cover a left-wing folk singer's song.

  • @hatmap one of my all time favorite things is to go to joan baez version and just say "judas priest did it better" oh the anger it stirs up because they know i'm right.....

  • まだオサレロックの名残が!こんな若きロブもイイね!

  • BEST LYRICS EVER!!!!!! FAVORITE PRIEST SONG BY FAR....halford comes in so hot and nails it with the lines "NOW Youre Tellin ME! Youre Not Nostalgic? Wellllllll..then gimme anotha wordddd forit .......Youve BEen Soo good with words.......etc" my favorite lines, had to tell all you, couldnt help myself, just couldnt

  • Loved early priest and still love old priest. Nice job!

  • Hey bro great video and people you kinda have to overdub this. These are bootleg videos priest was not recording there shows so the sound quality is shit,

  • SO GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • metal gods

  • The moron takes a VERY RARE version and overdub with a version that's very easy to find, from the album 'Unleashed in the East '... And The Big Stupid award goes to ...

  • fucking love this cover

  • awesome! This rocks!

  • Best version of Diamonds and Rust!

  • That rocked man! Hard to find this, thanks for the upload ;)

  • Man, the video quality is terrible. Ha Ha! Great audio. Thanks for posting.

  • I was at this gig. It was on the "Stained Class" tour. I ended going on my own as none of my mates were into the Priest. I got the bus to Dunstable from St Albans. They absolutely blew that fresh faced little seventeen year old away that night. It's quite emotional seeing this clip even though it is dubbed. Just to think I was there and totally captivated. I'd give anything to be there again. Bl**dy great times !!

  • great song, but the quality...

  • great song, but the quality.......

  • This is like watching a fucking old japanese movie dubbed in english. Mouths moving and no voice shit. WTF? Nice try though. PRIEST IS BAD ASS!!

  • being 14 drunk and stoned at the palladium in NYC back in 78, this is exactly the way they looked and sounded to me in the 10th row, thanks for sharing loved it.

  • I just keep watching this. Halfords AMAZING.

  • Rob's voice is amazing. i just love it.

  • on the higher quality video you can see that Rob is wearing the same thing he was wearing during the Dreamer Deceiver video from the 1975 BBC sessions.

  • @cubby3o5 at least something similar...yes :)

  • Which bruce dickinson fan boy got mad and pressed the thumbs down 4 times?

  • They truly used to wear hippie clothes in that time, nice vid dude thanks for sharing.

  • Totally overdubbed! This is from 1978, unleashed was early recorded in early 1979!

  • I can't understand why but this sounds a million times better than 'Unleashed'...everything is balanced, Rob Halford's vocals are there in their crystal glass clarity and the rest just bobs along perfectly. What the hell ever happened to 'Unleashed'-the worst sounding live album ever....?

  • This is from unleashed..i should know ..i wore out 2 of the albums listening..i know every tiny soundbyte of this track!

  • wow awsome best thing is he can still sing like this in 2010 true rock god

  • most one rarity

  • I would never ever think of complaining about vid quality

    Thank you for posting this

Judas Priest is going to influence chidrens dat taint even born yet

  • Its the best audio on Youtube though..great quality

  • JAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWLLLLLLLLLLLL

OUT LOUD AND BANG YOUR HAD....

THE WORLD CAN FALL DOWN BUT I DONT CARE....

NOT MEANWHILE I GOT THE PRIEST´s IN MY MP3 PLAYER...

  • No worries about vid quality haha sounds great and I want it for a playlist anyway! LOL

  • Yeah this is Unleashed dubbed over...

  • This is taken off of the BEST live Priest album of them all, "Unleashed in The East", which was recorded in Japan and released in 1979. This song and 'The Green Manalishi"(Fleetwood Mac) are the only covers that I can think of that Judas Priest has done offhand that Judas Priest has done. Joan Baez suprisingly wrote this song!!!

  • @TheArbiter74 Spooky Tooth - Better By You, Better Than Me was another cover they did.

  • @detroitdemon I love that song!!! "Stanied Class" is probably my second favorite Priest album after "Unleashed in the East". A close third would be "Hell Bent for Leather" or "Sin After Sin". They kinda lost my personal tastes after "Screaming For A Vengeance". However, I do have a DVD boot of Priest in Germany in '83 that kicks ass. I'm more of the old-school metal. Thanks for the info!

  • Is that Halford? Yes much better than the Ripper?

  • @llangol

  • Unleashed in the east-Live in Japan!! To this day,one of the greatest albums i've ever heard!!! Beginning to end!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @metalriff11 This old drummer say Les Binks...wow I use to lay on my living room floor and dream I was in Japan. I wore this album out. The best most important record for me. And I love Van Halen 1 and moving pictures by Rush. This is pure heavy blues Rock. Thank you......

  • @foosbal you like Van Halen, Rush and Judas Priest. Sure you're not related to me, a twin maybe?....lol.

  • @metalriff11 material yes brilliant, sound quality and production was and is the worst I've ever come across in 30 years plus of me enjoying Rock/Heavy Metal-a very big shame and possibly the biggest missed opportunity in the history of heavy metal.

  • Muito Lokooo !!!!!!!!!!!

  • great audio!

  • Wow this takes me back, havent heard  this in well over 25 years...thanks for posting :}}}

  • ..."Unleashed in the East"...."Masterpiece of Metal".......

  • No this is NOT from unleashed in the east

  • @Themetalgod1000 Yes - this is the song on "Unleashed in the East" - I listen to it since it was released..so no doubt about it!!!!

  • is this the footage of unleahed in the east :O ?

because i have it on vinyl and it is exacyly like this one :D:D:D

  • @headbanger6661990 Yeah - the song is exactly that one, man!!

  • Siempre Judas !!

  • gotta love this fucking song...it's great, my favorite...amazing, thanks Judas!!!! (great album too)

  • are you kidding? you'd have to be deaf to not tell this from unleashed

  • @lrewopf it IS from unleashed....just that the same track was a bonus in my new nostrodamus album.

  • the audio is dubbed in from the unleashed album

  • That's what I said. lol. except that mine was a nostradamus album, with this as a bonus.

  • no, only the voice part. Rob Halford was problems of voice in this year. sorry for my bad english.

  • i love this song

  • gora judas

  • KEEP ROCKING

    bt

  • AWESOMEEEEEEEEEEEE

  • this audio is some of the best on YT but yea man... the vid is terrible.

U get an A for effort

  • This is the version from Unleashed in the East (1979)

  • is that true judas priest is the first band wear a full tight pants?

    plz reply me back

  • dont woo\rry about the vid quality, the sound is fucking killer.

  • i totally agree

  • Live in Japan rocks!!!!

  • Don't overdub Priest for nothin!

  • That's my feeble attempt man...u can't save every legend from imperfection...

  • @MetalxGoDsx3 Hate to break your heart, but this whole album (Unleashed In The East) was retouched in the studio after the fact. Worked with a fellow that was a roadie for Priest for years, and he told me that they were not happy with what ended up on the tapes, so they re-did most of the tracks in a studio. So "Unleashed In The East" is not a true live performance. And I am a big fan of the group, so I feel your pain!

  • @soupedguit369 i doubt they retouched any of binks bits as he was a freakin clock live.

  • strange. y'all talking about how this is a "beautiful song" by Priest...it's a Joan Baez cover, just in case you didn't know.

  • So what.

  • @psychosasylum i know but in opinion i think Priest did better on it

  • thank you. what a beautiful song from them. this is historic and wether its perfect or not we get the point of who they were and what pioneers they were. once again, thank you.

  • This is the best version i have ever heard, weres the 6th star?

  • tezzquill, you are too hard on yourself man. This is classic stuff any way you cut it. I love this version.

  • Thx...but it could have been much better..

  • Both Sabbath and Priest started pretty similar with dark lyrics played in slow tempo or more festive rock songs. They evolved differently with Sabbath producing songs about war and drugs (kind of political), great riffs and songs, but if you play a Sabbath song it typically has a slow tempo. I think it was Iommi who said they proved slow could still be heavy. Priest moved toward a mix of fast rock and catchy tunes that could be played on radio. But they kept dark and this mix became heavy metal.

  • Songs like Sweet Leaf , Children of the Grave , Sympton of The Universe , are not heavy ?

  • Lol this...erm...debate is interesting :D

  • No Sabbath made it Heavy . And Priest made it faster .

  • dude, sabbath were never heavy, were only a stoner rock band. this is the first 100% heavy metal band

  • BULL!

  • Unleashed in the East!

  • First true "Heavy Metal" band in my opinion. Classic stuff! Nice work on the vid!

  • Sabbath made metal..Priest made it Heavy .-

  • There ya go. That pretty much sums it up!

  • Sabbath got close, but if you look back, priest was first for twin lead guitars and their songs were just much heavier and more aggresive than anything that had been seen before them

  • reverse

  • hehehe this is great concert and u have this song from it on video of that concert? LOL Can U atach more videos from this,if u have green manalishi I will be very happy to see it :)

  • Don´t worry about the sync man, the "Unleashed" soundtrack rocks and it´s great to have some vid to watch with it. Nice one, thanks.

  • Thanks for the video. I apprceiate your efforts. I say JP in 1980 with Def Leppard as the opener...

  • halfords voice is outstanding.

  • @harman82 yeah man, the drag queen sings!!

  • @harman82 nothing like it, dio comes in very close with halford.

  • Tezzquill vid might not be great but the audio kicks ass and thats what its really about!

  • why the hell this have studio audio than original vid? :( oh I guess copeyrights problem... here is original watch?v=2R7tWil0TKU

  • I said overdubbed...didn't I haha.

  • I read the info & I thank you for trying to makr the video more enjoyable for us the viewers,it has happened to me & ater trying & puying the tme into it it is a bit upsetting, anyways ,my question, this is the audio version of Priest Unleashed in the East, correct?

sorry if I missed it on the info section, thnx again for posting !

  • I believe it is, there are so many different versions of information on the same thing on the internet after all.

  • daanos, daanos el arrozz, es una de mis favoritas del sacerdote

  • Whats up with they're clothes? Hardly Metal xD Gotta love Priest

  • It would be several years before they began wearing the leather duds.

  • are these duds you speak of milk duds.

  • at the beginning when the big bang ocurred. the first note was a melody with the strumm and speed of heavy metal. then judas priest was born as a ricocchet of that pasion.

  • ok i could not keep it for my self only so here goes the true story aftr the big bang. well halford was taking a shitz and a guy came an fell in it, he stood up thinking he could sing but his mouth was so sticky and full of that sheitz so when he started trying to sing.. then rap was born.

    source: rock bible: genessis 1/2:34.5

  • what duh??? LOL

  • I have to say I'm impressed...there's absolutely no haters on this vid except for the 50 cent dude some time ago....

  • which is pretty rare...considering even the most awesomesauce bands get their dose of haters...

  • cant believe halford still wore this in '78

    gypsy priest :D

    love it anyways.... its priest!

  • A little out of sync, and shitty quality on the video... but who cares? it's priest!

  • *****CONSIDER FOR A MOMENT***** This was in 1978. About 5-6 yrs before the mainstream "Heavy Metal" era. Pioneers?

  • HELL YEAH

  • pos claro

  • Heavy metal was still around, what with the darkness of Sabbath and the mysticism of Led Zeppelin (But I consider Zeppelin hard rock).

  • man, the quality may be bad but JP wil always be JP, i dont give a shit for the quality, the video is AWESOME! 5/5

  • last video of the year but best video of the year (: i love priest and seeing them play this long ago for me is amazing

  • Glad you loved it, dude!

  • ....I've already paid...

    BANG ON!!!

  • Les Binks is an awesome drummer

  • i'll be dammed... great song

  • I'll be damned, here comes your ghost again~~~

Lol, yea one of my fav's of all time.

  • Fosho dude..lol

  • Jesus Christ...JUDAS F*CKIN' PRIEST rocks soo hard! Could this be considered glam metal. Doesn't matter it kicks much ass.

  • Not damned glam metal! Its NWOBHM.. ;P

  • fantastic

  • This is from probably the best live album period. Unleashed in the East (Live in Japan). I still have this on tape. I think Dave Holland was one of the most underrated drummers ever. The production on this concert was steller. Brings a tear to my eye to hear it again. I'm gonna go search for that tape. HA!

  • Just as an FYI, Les Binks was at the skins for this album and for this period of Judas Priest...

  • Wow Dude, you're absolutely correct. Dave Holland didn't join till August '79. Thanks for the education. You are truly more metal than I. Great drums on this album.

  • Classic Priest! Damn cool!

  • This is the same recording they used for the compilation Living After Midnight

  • Living after midnight is another of my favs btw :). Really fun feeling
