I always thought the Latin part in the song contained the words "Blue Moon" ha ha ! But I still don't know exactly what the Latin bit is ! Anyone know ? Something with "Saltamus" in it (?) !!!
@ThePROTO1TYPE They do say saltamus, however i dont think its an actual latin word.Closest would be saltare meanig to dance.Perhaps they just changed it to be more phonetic
Great remix and even though the original version can’t be bettered as is the case with all Abba music. Remixes can enhance and enable listening for longer to get even more out of the music. You have really well synchronised a very good selection of photos, also processed with good use of digital effects. A lot of work has gone into it. A very interesting song in many ways, great melody, with as always for Abba songs, superb vocals and musical arrangements.
Great remix because it seems to bring out the background more than other versions and concentrates on all of the musical effects. They all seem so much more clear and pure in sound. Of course, it takes the musical genius of ABBA to make the song in the first place. This is an enchanting song.
I saw a woman(late 40's, early 50's) who looked very much like Agnetha working at a vet's office. Had to do a double take as I could not believe it. She had an accent:) But thought couldn't be her relation but the resemblance was rather errie. My brother (a fan who had a crush on her)asked me if I told her she looked like her. I didn't, as she would think I was a nut.lol Maybe I will ..next time if I see her. I would think it as a compliment.:)
Brilliant! Straight to the top few of my favourites. Abba's The Piper was already one of my all time favourites and this remix is superb. Many thanks for posting this!
The Piper was Inspired by the Stephen King novel The Stand - Björn wrote a lyric about the rise of a fascist-type leader. The lyrics deal with the fear that there will come a time when people will want such a leader again, Björn later explained. Politically related subjects would be even more frequent on ABBAs last album, The Visitors, where the Cold War would overtly inspire at least two songs.
Pan lived in Paradesa (Paradise), a Persian term for orchard. The first "temple" was a grove of food-bearing trees, not a building. Humans lived in the equatorial regions where there are/were numerous fruit and nut species available year round. Once they started to eat annual plants and animal flesh, they donned clothes and took weapons and fire far from the warm Fruitlands. In the hostile non-human habitat, they were forced to hunt during winter and create gods that demanded blood sacrifice.
Pan was important when humans ate orchard foods (tree crops, like nuts and seeds--see Genesis 1:29) and had yet to devolve into agriculture (Cain) and animal husbandry (Abel). Since early humans derived First Food from perennials (trees) there was no need for work, tech, tools, etc. Once we turned to "annuals and animals" (grains, legumes, veggies, flesh) we had to work and create statecraft to organize labor along lines of gender, age, etc. Pan ruled the fabled GOLDEN AGE free of human laws.
Pan the Piper is also alluded to in Led Zeppelin's classic, STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN ("and it's whispered that soon if we all call the tune, then the Piper will lead us to reason"--and again "your head is humming and it won't go, in case you don't know, the Piper's calling you to join him"). THE LADY alluded to in that song is Mother Nature, Cancer/Moon. Stevie Wonder also devotes a song to Pan in FLOWER POWER from his triple LP, "Journey Into The Secret Life of Plants."
Pan, one of the Greek gods, is associated with the Saturn ruled goat-sign of Capricorn. He is the Great Father, opposite the Moon ruled sign of Cancer, the Great Mother. Like the Hindu Shiva, Pan's two pipes represent the integration of evolution and the disintegration of devolution. In dark times the Piper descends from his mountain perch, playing his pipes to teach humanity how to once again love Nature, which he rules. Those who prefer darkness fall into the madness of chaos or Pan-Demon-ium.
Loved the remix, but that Blue Moon slideshow was inspired, excellent pictures & effects. fantastic Elin! 5* + fav and i will be back to rate again,it's so good.

@ThePROTO1TYPE The Latin part is "Sub luna saltamus" and means exactly the same as in english "we dance beneath the moon".

@MrRicardo7272 Indeed that's what it's about. And my fantasy soul withered because I'd always thought it was about the Pied Piper of Hamelin. :P haha
