Im in school now to become a CNC Machinist. But I really think in America right now there are lots more machining jobs because more and more stuff is becoming expensive to import.
@expletusx i'm learning basic code in high school for this right now, and if you have common sense and a basic hands on skills, it can be easy. But if you aren't good with computers and such then it probably isn't the best thing for you.

@kristijanadrian If you havnt learned by now, CAD is Computer Aided Design which is the design process, usually where the blueprints are created. CAM is Computer Assisted Manufacturing where the blueprint is turned into a coded program and entered into a machine and the product is produced. Hope that helps.
I have a CNC motor controller 3 axis Toshiba TB6560AHQ and 3 BS57HB56-03 Stepper Motors but when I power up the systems after while my motors “gets hot” without using them (in non operational mode) is that any normal?
Do you know if Mach3 v R1.83 can work with USB to Parallel port converting pluck? Because I have a laptop with no Parallel port so I bought a USB to Parallel port converting plucks any suggestions welcome.
hmm any mention of conversational programming? in some cases you'd end up completely skipping the "CAD" and the "CAM" steps...which can definitely be lengthy.
Cool vids. I'm in the process of trying to get my hands on a small cnc mill, maybe a taig, unfortunately living in Ireland it makes it quite difficult.
CNC has it ups and downs. It usually follows manufacturing. When the economy is strong and we are all building products, CNC takes off with it. When the economy slows, jobs dry up.

Thanks. Cool you are going to get a small mill. If you get one over the pond, I am sure you will be happy with it.
On a different note, I was in Ireland last Christmas. Loved it. Great people.
