I was 6 years old when this was released and I remember watching the commercials for the film ... it was different than the trailer, what I recall most was McQueen running toward the edge of the cliff as he was being shot at (in slow motion) and him going over it with the title of the film blazing "Papillon" ... awesome, all these years and I still remember it. great performance by McQueen who out-acted Hoffman in this one. I just brought the book at a flea market, so I hope to enjoy that too.
