  • This is also my favourite sound on the SQ-1. Whats also so startling is that I nearly sold mine this week for $95 until I combined it with my Juno 60 and Kawai SX-240 which are analog. Gorgeous combination!!! Funny thing is, I didn't come across this video until just today, but "heavenly" #27 alone saved me from selling it. #40 Superpads is also very lovely to combine with analog strings. Thanks for the upload, it sounds so marvelous~!!!

  • @Sjobeck7 Your welcome! Sadly I havent played on SQ-1 since I got Kronos, so like half a year...

  • synth is not bad but for modern times it is just antiques

I have a model with broken SQ1 multiple keys

  • Great unit, have one since it was built c 1990. Good all round, transwave sound still unmatched.

  • That shot is beautiful! What camera lens did you use? Did you make the green and red colors in the background in editing? How'd you make it look so legit??

  • @DannySchramm1 Shot on Canon EOS 7D and 50mm/f1.8 lens. That's RAW footage taken right from the camera. It looks nice on yt, but believe me, that if you watch it on a good Full HD screen in native resolution the compression, aliasing and all this "digital shit" will drive you mad....

  • Strange and very beautiful.

  • me gusto a mil 8 mil 3 mil 1 potencia tambien!!!

  • @lunicodanone google translate > "I like a thousand 8 000 3 000 1 enhances well!". Is that what you wanted to tell?

  • @modelicus

yes, but I speak Spanish and write in Spanish haha

  • @lunicodanone ok, but well.... this sentence doesnt make any sense....

  • @modelicus Don´t worry, it doesn´t make any sense in spanish neither...lol

Better translation (not machine): "I liked it at thousand 8 thousand 3 thousand 1and power as well !!! " (¿?)

    lunicodanone ¿que querias decir? ;)

  • @TheEdnarg Why do Spanish people always write in Spanish on yt, so that nobody understands?

  • nice... I have the same SQ... my father bought a brand new 20 years ago when I was just a boy... I played a lot in that time, has a bunch of history in concerts... has a broken key when a light focus fall on it on the stage...

...then i broke a couple fingers... so never more played nice... but sometimes I do a lot of noise with the Mysteri ROM, and I have to change the battery, because the memory not save, when unplug mi sq...

  • @SirTalo I love sounds from SQ1. They are so deep and clear..... Style of sounds is a similar to Korg M1 or Wavestation (same times) but i find SQ1 much more powerful in their quality. Also I love easy of programming and built in 8 track sequencer.

  • @SirTalo You might get another key from Vintage Planet, a site where you can buy spare parts for many synths.

  • well I sold mine and bougth a Korg M3, but it wasnt because of the sound, more cause I enjoy karma. I did nice patches with the strings I remember, and used Amigas Bars & Pipes as sequenser

  • @idiomis Yes, I've played on Korg M3, and Karma technology is interesting, but I think, that it's only some intelligent arpreggiator, and it doesnt change sound dramatically. There is also one great thing in M3, that you cant find in SQ1 - drum track. But sounds are similar after 20 years...

  • well you got a nice sound there, I dont remember it sounding so good :)

  • @idiomis Thanks :) I'm really happy you like it. SQ1 sounds amazing! After 20 years I cant hear any big difference between todays workstations. The only big difference is the prize. Today good workstation costs about 1500$, and I've bought this used SQ1 for about 100$! And there are many sounds, which are much better than this one! In future I'm going to make review of the SQ1, because I couldn't find any on youtube.
