@karvainenvalas Yeah, it is kind of spin-off like, but it still is a sequel of sorts, just not a direct one. It actually still makes a lot of references to the cult and what not, and without the events of 1 SH wouldn't have had the power to do almost everything it does in SH 2.

I think Silent Hill kinda has two main stories. One being the Order and all affiliated with them, (Heather, Harry, Claudia, Alessa) and two being the horrors, fears, guilt, and sadness of the main character. Like, with Silent Hill 2. It mostly revovled around James's guilt, sadness etc, not the Order or Alessa. Like, with Downpour (i'm going to give it a shot before i mindlessly hate on it) from what I've heard, will revolve around the main characters wrong-doings or sadness. Just sayin

The first time I played a Silent Hill game, it was scary. I was shitting my pants at every sound, every darkened corner, every movement. But once I got to the end, I realized that there was nothing to be scared. Now anytime I play a Silent Hill game, I see no horror, just a beautifully crafted story. Everyone should play through a second time, at least. It just adds a whole new perspective.

And it's still related because if it wasn't for the events of the first game Silent Hill wouldn't be the type of town it is so almost everything that happened in Silent Hill 2 couldn't have happened.

@DjembeDjam Personally, I disliked the "ancient cult" aspect of 1,3,4. Not to say they were bad, well, except maybe 4, but I felt Silent Hill 2 was much stronger and focused more on the personal demons of James, rather than explaining everything is caused by magic.

@Omgdonut297 Yes... the cult is terrible, sh2 have the best history line (for me) that give me explanations about silent hill, the power of the town and the otherworld is different for anyone, the James's otherworld it's damp and dark, the Angela's otherworld it's burning, the Eddie's otherworld it's cool and have dead bodies hanging from the ceiling, Maria it's a James's illution and the child cannot see the otherworld cuz' they have no darkness in their heart... what a masterpiece.

I may be getting to semantic here, but why is this considered Laura's theme? It doesn't fit her character very well. If anything it would be more fitting if it were Maria's or possibly Angela's (considering the reprise is played during her final scene). Or just the Main theme.
