After hunting down many of the wolves in Yellowstone, it actually led to a near extinction of the aspen trees in the forest because less wolves meant more elk and the elk ate young aspen trees.
Not sure what Palin's is plan here but it probably has to do with the fact that since they hunt so much caribou there might be an imbalance with the wolf population. If you ask me, though, I don't think we should meddle with complex natural ecosystems at all. You should hunt for survival, nothing else.

the the low flying planes gives you an inaccurate shot . The wolf DOES care whether he is shot by plain or foot. if you were on foot you would have a better shot to the head so the wolf does not suffer any pain and it is quick.the wolves are chased for ten miles and when they are too tired to run they are shot. their leaders are shot which confuses the pack, pups starve in the dens. a pilot when recorded even said that it was un-sporting but then said "Who would complain with $150"

I don't know about Alaska, but here in Wisconsin the wolves were hunted to extenction, but thanks to wolf migration small populations are starting to come back. You hear people claim that they fear for their lives, but really there are less than 1,000 wolves. Hunters claim they are killing off deer populations, but the fact is that the deer population is four times what it was before Europeans decided to settle within out state. The wolf is nothing more then a target of propaganda scapegoating.

It's not just wolves, but many animals have in fact been hunted to extinction and my children shouldn't have to go to a zoo to see or hear the last of these animals. Alaska is a huge state and the Alaskan DNR says there are around 7500. Thats no massive overpopulation my friend...

After hunting down many of the wolves in Yellowstone, it actually led to a near extinction of the aspen trees in the forest because less wolves meant more elk and the elk ate young aspen trees.
Not sure what Palin's is plan here but it probably has to do with the fact that since they hunt so much caribou there might be an imbalance with the wolf population. If you ask me, though, I don't think we should meddle with complex natural ecosystems at all. You should hunt for survival, nothing else.

A little wolf knowledge might help understand why they need to be protected. Unlike humans, wolves do not litter the land with offspring. Generally only the alph pair mate and have pups and if the elk herd has declined because of illness or over hunting by humans the wolves will not breed. Unlike humans, they have no government handouts that make having more and more babies profitable. As for their killing cattle out in the western states where they have been introduced...another story.

I knew this "lady" would be trouble,the first time I saw pictures of her with her trophy kills.She has absolutely NO respect for any wildlife and it was obvious that the only thing she'd be capable of,was ensuring the Alaskan wolves will probably be almost if not totally wiped out. Aerial hunting is extremely wicked,and so is Sarah Palin.She should hang her head in shame, and so should all the electors who gave this horrible female the power to do things SHE wants... aerial hunting wolves/bears!

I'm a republican. I don't think Palin was wrong for hunting wolves. And I do think Ashley Judd is a hypocrit for attacking Palin on hunting because Ashley Judd is pro choice. I only hunting should be legal if there's a population problem becuase we should respect all life even wolves. We should respect human life the most.

Iif it was possible for wolves to be overpopulated they will reduce their own population. The lack of food would cause wolves to die from starvation and alpha females won't breed. This disgusting killing is for sport, pure & simple.
Although I don't know how anyone could consider it sport. The wolves from a helicopter look like big huskies. Why not let loose a bunch of shelter dogs and then the "brave hunters" can shoot them.

So are we under the impression that whomever says it first is the one that has the facts? There needs to be evidence put forth by both sides. What didn't get mentioned in the ad is that the "bounty" was given to off set the cost of fuel. In the same month that Palin announced the "bounty" a court overruled the authority to do that and the "bounties" were stopped. But Palin is the one to say how the ad is wrong as opposed to the ad having to say how they are right? Give me a break.
