If you don't understand what a magnet is, and how energy is stored and transferred in a magnet, then magnet-only motors might seem feasible. FAIL. You have to turn the device to make it spin. This means the device was in equilibrium, it's natural state. The device will slow to a complete stop because permanent magnets will cause the drum to fall into equilibrium. The magnetic lines of force pull equally as much as the push. You can't get around that. Draw your magnetic lines of force and see why this device won't continue to run on its own.
Not the "permanent magnetic motor" again. This device will not continue to run with no load hooked up for very long, let alone adding any kind of load. I have studied all these free energy devices and can debunk every one. The simply don't work. First clue? You had to spin the drum. If it was truly free energy it would turn by itself, you'd have to hold it to keep it from moving by itself. It's in equilibrium before you turn it. It will return to that state after a while. Magnets do not last 400 years. It is not that general. It depends on the magnet. Its Gauss and the temperature the magnet is exposed to. We have not yet found a way to make this work. Or should I say, most people have not. Some of us have.
The only way to make the wheel spin quickly enough in order to produce a worthwhile amount of electricity would be to use electromagnets, which will use quite a lot of electricity in turn. There's a bigger chance of solving the efficient hydrogen production problem than getting magnetic motors to work.
test this yourself, it DOES NOT run like that. and once you put a draw on the wheel, it will slow down, too. RADIANT ENERGY on the other hand is a better ballgame. or hydrogen production using solar, even.

first of all..you say this car is powered by a 4.6?...and it looks like either a crown vic/grand marquis or linclon..if this car is getting 18 mpg's then something is wrong with this car to begin with ..crown vics /grand marquis get almost 30 mpg's..or very close to it ..so already this car has something wrong with it ..you should look and see why this car is so bad on gas first of all ..i have a 1990 grand marquis and that car with the 5-0 [302] gets 26.2 mpg's..

Unfortunately the one critical aspect this video utterly fails to take into account is that the magnet "engine" has hardly any torque and would probably not even be able to spin the alternator. Now, you might be able to overcome this with a motor made up of stronger magnets, say 400-500lb of attraction but I certainly don't want a whole fuckton of those things lying around me. One gets loose and it's a real bad day.

@darkrashan Magnetic fields cannot do work by themselves. They only change the orientation of a test charge or perform braking on a conductor. The energy of the aligned dipoles in a ferromagnetic material cannot be extracted, and even if it could, it will cost more energy to remagnetise the magnets than you would extract. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
What I've been trying to say is SOMETHING already did the work to magnetize the magnet, all we're doing is re-converting it into something useful.

That resistance is slightly more than the push off that you get from the static magnet continuing to turn the wheel. The reason for this is actually friction. In a 100% frictionless environment this could work. In a very well lubed up environment, it will APPEAR to be continuous, but friction will show it's face over time.

The RPM would incrase, and magnetic power would incrase, causing more power to be produced than used since magnets will move without the aid of electricity. It would go forever becasue ther would be no friction, which means no ware and tare on the parts. I like your demonstration of basic magnetics, but that's as far as it goes. Most videos like this one are mostly for edutainment and have few, if any, practical applications. Still, it's good to show very basic physics.

Magnetic field is not energy. If you align the magnets on a wheel, you can keep that wheel moving in perpetual motion. Put that on an alternator, and that perpetual magnetic motion can create electricity to power an engine.
The "main source of energy" is actually the driver. All you do is kickstart the magnetic wheel and it does the rest. Nothing is contradicted. It actually makes sense.

FAIL. You have to turn the device to make it spin. This means the device was in equilibrium, it's natural state. The device will slow to a complete stop because permanent magnets will cause the drum to fall into equilibrium. The magnetic lines of force pull equally as much as the push. You can't get around that. Draw your magnetic lines of force and see why this device won't continue to run on its own.

I have studied all these free energy devices and can debunk every one. The simply don't work. First clue? You had to spin the drum. If it was truly free energy it would turn by itself, you'd have to hold it to keep it from moving by itself. It's in equilibrium before you turn it. It will return to that state after a while. @andrez1199 This is not an example of free energy. This device was in equilibrium before he turned it. This suggests that the device will never be able to run on it's own for any significant amount of time. It will slow down and stop because the magnetic forces will bring it to equilibrium.
The only free energy is solar, wind, and tidal energy, well electro-chemical as well. Gas is free energy, you just have to pay the supplier for it. Power too, same thing.

The only way to make the wheel spin quickly enough in order to produce a worthwhile amount of electricity would be to use electromagnets, which will use quite a lot of electricity in turn. There's a bigger chance of solving the efficient hydrogen production problem than getting magnetic motors to work.

Unfortunately the one critical aspect this video utterly fails to take into account is that the magnet "engine" has hardly any torque and would probably not even be able to spin the alternator. Now, you might be able to overcome this with a motor made up of stronger magnets, say 400-500lb of attraction but I certainly don't want a whole fuckton of those things lying around me. One gets loose and it's a real bad day.

DC current always flows in the same direction - from positive to negative (or, if you're a real physics geek, from negative to positive) - while AC alternates the flow of current between the two directions at some rate. This rate is expressed a cycles per second, or Hz (pronounced "hertz"). In the USA, the electricity in your house is changing directions at 60Hz - 60 times a second.

Magnets by themselves have no power, only when moved (requiring outside power) through an electric field is there any power. Therefore you are only converting mechanical energy into electrical energy. But the magnet has not "magically" created any energy.

@darkrashan Magnetic fields cannot do work by themselves. They only change the orientation of a test charge or perform braking on a conductor. The energy of the aligned dipoles in a ferromagnetic material cannot be extracted, and even if it could, it will cost more energy to remagnetise the magnets than you would extract. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

What I've been trying to say is SOMETHING already did the work to magnetize the magnet, all we're doing is re-converting it into something useful.
Just as the wind blows through vanes and spins a turbine, or the sun releases electrons across a photovoltaic element (solar cell). The equipment itself does NOT have "stored energy" but it converts energy from other sources regardless.. if that makes sense. And yes I am a firm believer that perpetuality is impossible :P

That resistance is slightly more than the push off that you get from the static magnet continuing to turn the wheel. The reason for this is actually friction. In a 100% frictionless environment this could work. In a very well lubed up environment, it will APPEAR to be continuous, but friction will show it's face over time.

The RPM would incrase, and magnetic power would incrase, causing more power to be produced than used since magnets will move without the aid of electricity. It would go forever becasue ther would be no friction, which means no ware and tare on the parts. I like your demonstration of basic magnetics, but that's as far as it goes. Most videos like this one are mostly for edutainment and have few, if any, practical applications. Still, it's good to show very basic physics.

Magnetic field is not energy. If you align the magnets on a wheel, you can keep that wheel moving in perpetual motion. Put that on an alternator, and that perpetual magnetic motion can create electricity to power an engine.
The "main source of energy" is actually the driver. All you do is kickstart the magnetic wheel and it does the rest. Nothing is contradicted. It actually makes sense.

@evilnomad111 A neat idea, a fun concept, a Rube Goldberg machine... all these apply, take your pick. But perpetual motion it is not.
Don't get me wrong, i am not bashing the concept, because I think it has some merit and functionality to it.
But this is NOT perpetual motion.

eh....magnets are not "permanent". In FACT....I've seen a magnet go bad after just a short while of consistent use without recharge.....which....also requires energy.
