  • FUCKIN BAD JIMI B TURNIN OVER IN HIS GRAVE !

  • lol that is good!

  • *drools*...I want that les paul...GIMME IT! seriously, I fantasize about that guitar. daily.

  • The intro is a lil off, verse aint bad, but no solo. It's not that hard to learn. Took me about an hour to get down.

  • awesome

  • nice, somtins wrong in the begining.

  • guitars out of tune and thats not how you play it right, your using short cuts.

  • that was sick, better than all the other shit dickheds put on here.

  • good shit man///

  • Use your thumb for the verse on the 3rd and 5th frets. Makes you look cooler, lol.

  • not bad, not bad at all, keep practising and yull get it

  • using your thumbs a pain in the ass it makes my fingers less co-operative.

  • i like the sloo flooo 5stars

  • pretty good, your timing was off though. But what do i know? im only 13 lol.

  • Use a metronom for the intro and you will see you're not playing it right. Watch the tempo.

and I think Jimi didn't play G up to A but G7 to A7 in the verse ;) just a tip. Not sure though. Besides, he used to plug the E string with his thumb. This way, he made a hammer on with his pinky.

Look at my version. I didn't have an electric guitar at this time but it shows how Jimi really played it. Listen to his Album version of Purple Haze and you'll hear it if you pay attention.

  • Well Jimi played a strat but you know, he also played a Flying V ... So I don't think the guitar choice makes much difference. Besides, Jimi had a fuzz so the Special Strat sound got away a little bit :) For "Little Wing" or "Castle made of sand" (played clean), a Strat really is important.

  • oh my god! is that a les paul?? if it is ur so lucky!!!

  • try to be more suppish in ur playing, look it up

  • Not bad. Just work on putting more SOUL into it, and don't try as hard. IF that makes any sense.

  • pretty good, sweet les paul by the way

  • GOOD JOB MAN?!!!!!!!

  • nice hendrix sound and playing was good. Keep rockin \m/

  • great tone!!!

  • imma use u as my song that i can play bass with because u play it right and u got it at right tempo.. i guess.

  • freakn awesome bro, who cares if people say its not perfect, im sure jimi wouldn't have any thing against it haha.

  • good job and also sweet guitar i have a fender starcaster and it is black

  • the beggining's a little out of toon but it was nice

  • wow. sounds way to sharp to be Jimi. It was excellently done but everything is so sharp. Its more of a rocker's version of Jimi. Then again u might just be a rocker so no offense. Try it w/o the sharps.

  • E 7 Sharp 9 and hendrixx

  • wow...you know what chord it is lol...one of the few.

  • right in the intro part you might want to exagerrate the movement of your fingers when sliding up and down the neck, i mean go past then come back

  • id like to ask what was the price of your epiphone les paul?nice playing though wasnt bad at all

  • I bought it new in germany in a big well known musicstore. Back then it came about 490 €. The price was ok.

But i rarely play it know. I usually play my new fender american standard strat, because there is more definition in the sound of the strat. You can hear mistakes better, so that you can learn faster :-)

  • but good job i cant play it

  • really? its fairly easy. 2 chord fingerings, and the intro should take like an hour to learn. the solo's fairly easy as solos go too.

    (to tweak114)

  • Dumb

  • what?

    lol

  • why would this intro take an hour to learn?

  • from the perspective of a beginner who thinks this is amazing, lol. Sorry for confusing you... I'm just saying that the people who think this is awesome or an incredible show of skill, i'm saying even someone who just picked up a guitar could learn the intro in an hour... btw, I was responding to another comment lol.

  • man to slow you need to play it faster

  • Lesson

  • Good work man! And who needs a Strat when you have a twice as good Gibson Les Paul! =P

  • Its just an epihpone LP Standard, but the guitar sounds quite good and is of satisfying quality.

  • That's really awesome. Nice one :). Just one tiny criticism though. It seems a bit slow, not much, just a little bit. I could be wrong though :)

  • Well I will make A video where i exüplain what i play, as there are so many people that want to know.

I guess there are a lot vids here on You tube showing how to play it, but i can show my version too.

  • mad nice

can you send me your tabs?

  • Nice job bro. Love the name Speedking also. Love the Deep Purple version of Speedking.

  • Great tone, man - what kind of amp do you use?

    Nice job.

  • Marshall DSL 401 with a Ibanez TS10 infront. There are Days I absolut love the sound of the amp and others i hate it. I think, the Amp is really good but I don't play constantly :-)

But there is one thing...... I am going to change the speaker to a Celestion Century vintage because the Stock speaker is not the best.

  • Nice playing, you have added your own unique signiture to it. nice work, keep up the practice.

  • it was ok but you need the strat!

  • I have one now :-)

  • Lucky bitch!

  • Nah, not that bad i guess. This didn't help me at all.

  • My guitar teacher showed me the intro riff and i just changed it a bit. I don't like to play things exactly note for note, because i am a "jammer". There is no song i can play from the beginning to the end except the songs of the band i am in. So i don't really have any tabs. I play the beginning a E7#9 because i think the original beginning sounds gog with a marshall tower :-) i only have a combo ;-)

  • that was good i do it differently though and the begining sounded out of key but nice

  • try using the neck pickup next time it sounds more jimi

  • Doope.

Nice stuff man, keep it up

  • way better than how play it

if u ever tab it u wanna send me a copy? thx

  • do you know any where on the internet that has the tab?

  • you did good, but if you want a good tab, go buy a issue of guitar world, or find a back copy where it has the tab of purple haze in it

  • nah some one else is gonna teach me

  • i'll could tab it if i find the time and mail it to you if you want

  • yo could u please send me the tabs, that would be sweet im just not sure on a few parts.

  • oh nm then i'll see if i can watch your fingers, it is pretty awsome!

  • my guitar teacher showed me and then i modified it by my self

  • where did you gett the tabs for this? I need them!

  • its good

    ur really doing the realthing

    the beginingneeds work tho

    good job

  • Glad you liked it. You're right with the intro notes. I like to play it with E7ad#9 chord but thats not the original way.

  • like everyone else here the intro was a bit off but everything else was almost spot on.

  • yea the opening notes are supposed to be

    6th fret E string then

    8th fret D string

    im pretty sure thats right.

i like the rest of the cover though its pretty awesome

  • the intro notes are wrong

  • Hey man you did a very good job, but i'm a Jimi Hendrix fanatic and the beginning doesn't sound right but the rest sounds great!!!!! ; )

  • intro is 8 6

  • Please comment on my try. I'd love to hear your Opinions and I am open for every Tip I could get.
