  • This really helped better than any other complicated videos! Thanks! :D

  • thanks for these easy how tos

  • I learned how to read sheet music in middle school when I was in choir. I never truly got it entirely because I always relied on the rest of the choir, so I decided to review the rules so i can truly understand. And this really helped me remember the stuff I've forgotten. Thanks for posting!

  • Thank you so much...that was so helpful, and so easy to understand, just started playing myself..mid-life crisis and all that lol

  • Good stuff mate...can you put up more info on how to read the bass notes.

  • You helped me so much!!! thank you!!!!

  • Good job!

  • Thank You For the Big Pictures....It Shows You Took The Time To Teach Us!

  • really easy to understand! thank you! i start to play piano by myself and u help me well!

  • You're better than my piano teacher! :) Your accent is lovely!

  • Thank u so much!!!!

  • I really appreciate your videos

    Thank you

  • Wow! You teach better than my piano teacher.

  • Thanks for taking the time to draw graphs, you helped me more than any teacher could

  • @brainfullofcheese SO WHAT THE HELL IS THE POINT OF PUTTING IT THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE O_o

  • you can REALLY teach piano. there are a lot of videos on youtube of people trying to teach, but they fail while you succeed. great job. you dont know how much youve helped me

  • This is awesome, it helped a lot, thank you, you explain so easily, i see the light now...you're the best.

  • Thanks That Was Really Helpful

  • sooooo helpful, thankyou so much :)

  • wow your keyboard is exactly same as mine! Isn't that the yamaha one? Great keyboard!

Now i can learn even better knowing htat. Thanks!

  • woow! your pretty good at teaching.

    that helped alot !! x)

    thankss !!

  • does it means that when there's a natural at the same line as a flat or a sharp it does not play both?? i'm confused!

  • u got cute British accent :-)

  • Great video. I had forgotten a couple of the simple steps.

  • that helped alot thanks :D

  • Your actually pretty good at teaching :D thanks

  • I have a question. If it is a # on, for example F in the middle, does that mean that every F on the whole keyboard is an F#?

  • I'm only beginning to read/play music, but to me, it sort of seems like that's what he's getting at...but I can't say with complete certainty.

  • i have tried and that's true, if it stands that you should play F in a F# then it's means al the F on the whole keyboard.

  • No guys that's not right

some musics or in fact songs have

    some exceptions for some notes

for example if you have F# that doesn't mean

it allways will be F# in the whole keyboard

it depends on the melody of the song

  • Okay so if you have sheet music, and the # is at the very beginning of the staff, then all notes on that line or space would be sharp. However, if the notes has a natural sign in front of it, the # is canceled for that note. Now if the note has a # directly in front of it like this #F, then only that note is sharp because the # is not at the very beginning of the staff.

  • Basically, yes - unless there is a natural symbol next to the note, which would make the F a normal F.

  • Or a flat symbol, which would make the F a flat.

  • thank you so much for giving up your time in order to teach us the newbs lol! im learning a lot from your videos and it's clearly understandable, unlike other vids i've looked up! again thanks a ton! ^_^

  • eyy guys !!!!! if you put letters on your keyboard then you'll get better cuz you'll know where the keys are

  • yea it does that vid is awsome know i know how to play piano haha cool dude

  • the natural note was weird okie so if the natural note is next to a flat or sharp, does it cancel it out n play as normal??

  • yeah you'd play it normally

  • WOW! THANKS!

  • thanks! I LUV U! i understand it but need to practice

  • im guessing like you started like all of us who dont know how to play but want to learn, so are you able to play music as you read now? or do you have to still learn slowly and decode the notes.

    anyone can answer

  • So if you have a sharp/flat symbol on a line, does every note on that line become a sharp/flat? And if so, if you have the natural symbol in front of a note, does that cancel out the sharp/flat that was on the line, making the rest of the notes natural as well? I'm not sure if this is question is clearly understandable or not xD.

  • yes, if a note is on a line with a sharp or flat, the it becomes that, however if there is also a natural next to it, then it remains as normal

  • thanks =D I understand it a bit more now, but still it's hard

  • This video helps alot oh and I love your accent :)

  • dude you are awesome thank you!!! I knew what flats and sharps were kuz I play guitar, but im learnin piano, and I dint understand why the flats where all the way in the beginning instead of next 2 the note itself. Now it all makes sense! Thanx bro!!! haha

  • ur way better then "expertvillage" lik "scsarulz" siad!!!!!

    thX a lot!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @SiMoNe1436 Yeah he is expertvillage doesn't say it clearer but I'm not say noone should wacth that one

  • haha you're so funny at so many parts :DD

    thanks for this!

  • thank you very much I just got my keyboard today and I am still trying to figure it out thanks

  • I just want to know, with the sharp symbol (#), i understand if there is and F and there is a sharp symbol, you do an F sharp (#), but what do you do if there is an E, with no sharp key to the right, di you just play the E or do you move it to a f, or to an f#?????

  • i think i got the same problem with you. haha

  • an E# doesnt exist me dunt think.

  • I play guitar and your right there is no B or E sharp#. there is a B and E flat though.

  • if u want to play an e# you hit the f key.

  • Omg..ur tutorial is so clear and helpful...I played piano when I was 8, but didn't play since and now 19 I forgot all the symbol....thanx so much..subscribed...^^

  • verry good mate i understand more than the people on hear like them twats from "expertvillage" they dont know what to teach ya thanks again mate good work.

  • thanks a lot. Your the greatest, but I'm still confused on how you tell whether or not its G4 and not lets say G2.

  • i have the same problem...

  • You have to look at the symbol on the extreme left of the music sheet. If it's Treble than the second line from down up, means G4.

If its Bass then the 4th space from down up means G2

  • WOW, thank you you taght me to read sheet music! (And I am pretty slow). That was amazing. Now I dont need a piano teacher.

  • well done, but what i don't exactly understand are the NATURAL notes???? can you just be more specific, please, thanks.

  • I know you were asking him, but I think he means that (this is an example) if there are two d5's on one line, with a sharp symbol to the left, the one with the natural sign would ignore the sharp symbol and be played as if the symbol wasn't there.

  • I figured it after i posted the comment, but anyways, help is always appreciated. thanks

  • great job helped me alot

  • so now i dont have to hire a piano teacher :) thanks sooooo much! you taught me how to read sheet music!!!!!!!!!! yay!!!!!!!!!!!

  • next week im gonna hire someone because i wanna breeze through the sheet, not stop on every note and say A and then thats a B, i would say to hire someone so you can fully understand.

  • hey OneChance99 thanks for the advise but I can 'breeze' through the notes now, it took me 1 month of constant practising, but if you believe hiring a teacher is a better way to overcome this obstacle then go for it and goodluck :)

  • Good work

  • wahahaha nice reaction at 4:50 something :))

ure a funny guy and a good tutor :P

    thanks :)

  • thank you =]

  • thanks for the superb notes.

i've pretty much devoted my whole summer to learning piano.

but since i already know basics, maybe i can learn a bit faster than planned.

    :)

  • The first was amazing...the second one matched it in amazingness. I can read sheet music really well now. You were very easy to follow. Thank you a ton :D. I was wondering if you have a recomendation for a keyboard I could get...mine is beat up and not that great. I want a good one...but don't want to spend a fortune lol. Thank you so much for the video...EXCELLENT VIDEO :D

  • I dont really know what keyboards are good on the market, but i think the yahama dgx 620 and yahama p-120 are pretty good..they have weighted keys and more importantly for you dont cost a fortune :)

  • Awesome TY :D.

  • yamaha p140 is great an the CVP series is really very good. I got the CVP 409 and love it. Its a bit pricy though. around 6400 USD so around 3600 to 3800 Euros

  • hmp.. your slightly nervous you should rehers but is good enough i understand it well thank but better luck next time LOL :)

  • LOL "Psh, that's it" Hey, you helped me out a bit. Thanks. Now I can play mary had a little lamb by reading it. Guess it's a start.

  • u saved me a million! Thx there friend! Props 2u

  • I guess it would help if there was a background tempo like a metronome when explaining on what how many count each note represents.. =>

  • So when i learn some piece via sheet music.. I actually have to count every note that is on the sheet?.. I mean like When i am learning the musical piece i have to learn in my head the timing?..like count ^^

    Sounds pretty impossible O_o

  • Well once you've done this over and over again you wouldn't need to count everytime, you would be able to read it straight off without thinking..just like how you would read out of a book but i do get what you mean it does sound impossible lol

  • Hehe i see :))

    Thats for support.

I'll keep practicing and practining some more.

    Should come eventually :-)

Btw your videos are very helpful thanks for uploading them man.

    Take care :)

  • 5:50 - he says that the natural symbol overpowers the sharp and flat. so why are the flats and sharps there?

  • because in a diffrent part of the music there'll be a note that has to be a sharp or flat and the natural won't be there to overpower it

  • oh ok thanks.

  • thank u so much.. i really understand the lesson.. i think, you teach way better than my ill-tempered music teacher.. ^^

  • very helpful!!! thnx!!!

  • this is helping me out great! Your so organized and I loved the way you made it easy using diagrams.

  • thank you so much this was more helpful than expert village

  • you are way better than expert village. i understand this, thanks.

  • wow this is really helping me out..appreciate it man..

  • No probz. :)

  • this was great! tyvm. still a bit fuzzy about the natural note but ill still work on it =]
