Yes Europe is doing that now, they started 10 years ago and most European nations (western ones mostly) use 20 - 50% in alternatives, its why their economy is doing better than ours.

Yet McCain doesn't focus on alternatives that will get us off the VOLATILE product of oil.

He focuses on drilling more oil, if that policy is adopted we will never catch up to Europe.

Don't be fooled by the "feel goods" who try to make you feel guilty for using fossil fuels, Democrats don't care about the planet, they are all getting fat off of your misery. If we produce our own oil and make gas affordable again, and we build 40 new clear plants, wind and solar would not be needed and all the Democrats contributors who are invested heavy into alternatives would loose gov mandates and fail.

This whole thing is so twisted and dirty, and it is costing everyone. The greens are not about saving the planet, they just want political power so the can get mandates set to force people to use the services of their sponsors. Pickens is a billionaire and he has gone over to the other side of the energy controversy because that is where the political clout is now. Democrats block drilling to fatten the alternative energy conglomerate.

His wind farm scam is a huge power grab, he knows that he can get the Democrats to help him coerce people into falling for it.

First the Democrats say that drilling would no effect on the economy but it would destroy the planet, then they say we don't have the resources to drill so it would be limited at best but they want to limit it.

Well said Taisa, I am embarrassed for the Republicans, but I am proud of them for trying. Whenever Republicans reach across the isle and try to work with the Democrats we get bills and proposals that are Ludicrous and full of pork. If it wasn't for Republicans that bill wouldn't have any oil production in it and if not for the Democrats our nation could be 100% self reliant and the oil wars all over the world would end.

The Republicans were expecting the Democrats to draft something so atrocious and filled with regulation and earmarks that the Republicans simply had to say no. In which case the Democrats would turn the blame of not doing anything on to the Republicans. The current Congress has it's 9% approval rating for a reason. The American people know congress is not doing the business of the people. America needs to put congress under a microscope.

Smart girl. I'd vote for her before I'd vote for Hillory. The oil will go on the world market, however the jobs, taxes, and flow of money would be to the US and not Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Dubia, Venesuela, or Mexico. That reduces foreign debt,(by 10s of billions) makes the dollar stronger, making the cost of foreign oil cheaper. Gas back to $2.00 a gallon. :)
