Stalin IS a Communist.
Unless you didn't know, Communism has MULTIPLE branches, it has a HUGE family of deviations and alterations.
Ex: Stalinism, Marxism, Trotskyism, Maoism, Leninism.
So yes, while Stalin did not adhere to the ideas proposed by Marx, he did create his own altered for of Communism, and yes, he was a communist.
