  • Slam Baji, I have made this Karahi at weekend. It was exceptional. Everyone was amazed as it cooked very quickly but the taste was very good. I have used fresh tomatoes as you suggested. Thanks for your wonderful recipes.

  • Aunty I love ur cooking but this one i think its too much oil please dont get me wrong. I cook almost all my food with half a spoon of oil or olive spray oil. i believe it is more healthy. Eating less oily food prevents u from cholesterol in your ageing time. But believe me i love you and your cooking a lot. Its just that my mum was diagnose with high cholesterol recently in her blood and she lives in another country and am in Uk. I dont know really what she is eating and how its been cooked.

  • @nasrineable, thanks :) i show traditional recipes they cannot be made with less oil. Everyone is free to alter according to their taste, liking or needs. In my house 3 of them are doctors. They eat good but eat less, avoid oil while adding into their plate. No cakes and no deserts. Only simple salan roti. may allah grant a healthy happy life to you mum. aameen

  • @shaloogoo, karahi is made with plenty of oil, when tomatoes are added oil doesnt mix at all in curry and it shows a lot as well. surly you can add less oil or remove when its cooked if you like. but it can not be made in a table spoon of oul, 1/2 a cup is fine, good luck

  • I did reply to your comment but i cant see it now. I dont have a favourite chef, havent had time to watch tv for ages :) Chefs are artists, talented people, but i dont think theyre very practical. There is a big difference between a housewife and a chef. I dont know any fried chicken recipes :(

  • That is NOT 1 Teaspoon. It looks like a lot MORE than 1 teaspoon. Are you sure you're not using a tablespoon rather than teaspoon?

  • 5ml is tea spoon, not at all levelled, always use dane daar salt, like sand you will never go wrong chilli and coriender do not fall, take full

  • it says 2400 W, go for good brand this is sunbeam, its good

  • not really a proper recipe indeed .....it would taste more uncook onion rather then a good chicken curry

  • that is not chicken curry, it is amazing.... trust me. no taste of onions what so ever.

    when u reach ur late 40's u may get bad cholesterol and get diabetic..

  • @GrowingMyBrain hehehe, the recipe was great and simple but yeah the oil quantity threw me back, it's like chicken in a soup of oil ...... it might be hard to eat that without draining the oil first ........ I would way less oil to cook karahi chicken

  • yes but chicken is better, lamb takes time to cook and some time you have to add water to make it soft, that actuallt let go its karahi beauty to me :) bus as you wish

    I have a question. sometimes at wedding halls you have chicken karahi which has a sweet/smoky onion taste. How do you achieve this taste?

  • Last night I purchased ingridients per your recipe of Karahi Chicken. And I decided to give it a try. Except for adding onions after tomato I added with masalas early on. Rest I followed more or less your recipe. Final result looked like yours. It was trully delicious Yum Yum. Do you think by changing your recipe a little bit that too accidentally ;) I have damaged the integrity of othentic Karahi Chicken Recipe that you tought us? Allah Hafiz.. Vasim

  • Yes you have damaged the integrity of the authentic Karahi Chicken Recipe :) Mujh se to berdasht naheen ho raha chiken karahi ki zaat per yoon achanak hamla :) next time make as it is and see the diffrance! batana phir 

    its one of the best karahi chicken recipe.

  • aaloo tikyon wali filing hoti hai, recipe hai tikkiyon ki deakh to. aata he oil daal ker gondhte hain aur namak sakht sa, hai chote samoson ki recipe bhi. dekho. filling aalli tikkiyon ki dalna.

  • Thanks Bajia....I tried your recipe last night (gave my wife a break) Once it was ready it looked and tasted really good. Everybody wanted the recipe..lol.

    I have brought it at my work along with boiled rice...looking forward to inhaling it in next hour. My next target is Karhi….this weekend is looking good for that before going to Jumma prayer!

  • for best results always keep an eye on water and adjust the heat according to that.

    if too much hi heat if md then md heat if little then low.
