I agree with you, but Paul washer has not been to every church in America so he is making some very universal statements about the church when he has not been to every church in America.

In my experience I agree with all of you that there is no longer simplicity of the cross and its power.

I know many good preachers who are not causing the churches to go down. I believe that we who have the idea that the church is going down are a main reason the church goes down. We don't help.

I want to tell everyone what happened to me when I really got saved but there is not enough space here . Paul Washer is telling the truth . Right before I got saved I heard him and he scared me LOL ! God was working on me at the time ! I listen to him now and I love it because I know he is telling the truth .

for me I was baptized in 06 fell, i fell away was in the world till 09...i began to fear death and demons and i remebered i didnt fear these things after i was baptized..but all that time i didnt visit any other "church" for i knew i was baptized into the truth..i was simply being selfish...but i hear apul washer and he inspires me...one thing i hate is false doctrine.

Works do not save you, but works are the evidence of faith, as said in James. "Work out your faith in fear and trembeling." If you are truly born again, then God works in you to honor that relationship by performing the works he has pre-ordained for you. If I tell my wife I love her, but continue to neglect her, never work at our relationship to get through the rough times and make it better, then why should she believe that I lover her? It's the same with God.

The traditional "altar call" should not be done away with, but instead recognized as the FIRST STEP to salvation through the correct and full Gospel. It has always frightened me to watch emotional, and people who (for the moment)Love Jesus leave the altar thinking they are Saved. Some Baptists jokingly call the Altar Call as "buying your fire insurance". I've heard this many times with my own ears...

Mr. Washer has in June spoken in the Netherlands amidst a flood of apostacy, wordlymindedness and sin, and he has presented himself smiling in 80.000 reformed newspapers as though all is well. In 2008 he still calls Billy Graham a great evangelist although Billy is known for his 'making a choice for Jesus' and his popularity in high circles in the world. Is this video not hypocrisy if he does not tell this to the leadership in my country and Billy Graham, but only to people who have no power?

All believers who read that verse are to do what God requires within that verse, for those are GOD'S WORDS not Paul's.

Paul Washer seems to believe that good works will maintain our grace; as if we could actually do enough to merit something others dont. He doesn't seem to understand God's grace in that there is nothing we can do to get to heaven on our own yet Christ still saved us. Paul Washer preaches a message of justification, not sanctification. We were justified on the cross. Can someone earn their grace? Is God going to tell someone on judgment day, "Sorry, you outsinned my grace."

If we can unearn God's grace, then that means that we can earn it as well, and we know we cannot. The apostle Paul says that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. When asked what the greatest commandment is, Christ did not list some sin we should not commit, but simply said to love God and love others. When will we learn that the answer to Godly living isnt focusing on not sinning but rather focusing on God.

I think you misunderstand Paul Washer. When I got saved 15 years ago, I was into partying much like others. When I sought God out one day on a whim, my whole world view changed and I suddenly started to see things differently. I was more aware of my sin and had a new desire to know God. From that point on, whenever I started to stray, God brings me back, and my desire continues to grow. These are the fruit and works are only evident of true salvation. That's what he meant.

I would respectfully disagree. Pastor Washer's views are in fact Biblical, they are sound, and they are true. He is by no means saying that your salvation is based on 'righteous living', please listen again..

there is this book that was given to the youth at my church at one time(and probably still is) called "The Book of Hope" which focus is a man-centered gospel. It focuses on felt-needs crap.

Sadly, whether knowingly or unknowingly that is the modern church's view of the gospel. I soaked that up for years until God praciously led me in His providence to a small bible study that taught the doctrines of grace. Bless His name!

I Love what God is doing in Paul's life and through his ministries, God speaks right through this man right to the people who need to hear it the most. He speaks truth and wisdom and all he says are biblical facts, it's about time someone preaches true Christianity the way it really is!!

I have been listening to Washer preach all night. I have been crying. Finally!! A man of God who is willing to cry out the TRUTH.

I have been preaching the same message to a few (whoever will listen). My heart is to call the Church to repentance and purity before God.
