and its different depending on which part of Canada u live in. in Nova Scotia, mostly in the Halifax area, u will find many blacks who's ancestors were slaves in the US and the Caribbean...same thing in cities of southern Ontario like Hamilton, Windsor...theres been blacks in Toronto since the 18th century.

Most of the blacks in Canada come from immigrant families that arrived from the Caribbean (mostly Jamaica). But if u lived in the northern US compared to anywhere else in Canada back in the 60's lets say...racism and discrimination was pretty much the same. So black people on both sides of the border were almost going through the same struggle from day 1.
