Europe has a range of its own folk music that is still heard in modern rock/pop just as much as the blues. and personally, I hear these influences more than the blues in songs like paint it black and stairway to heaven..the stones and others like to romanticize their love affair with the blues, but I think they ignore their own roots a little bit when they talk about this.
