If Carson makes the plaoyoffs! The jurk of the year would be this Douche! "The Oakland City Bomber Palmer" will blow up on this pricks face! Go Raiders!
And they are getting all shut up, IDC ABOUT THE STATS, I care about what is important in the NFL...WINNING....what do you expect from Palmer with 3 practices?? He wasnt expected to play against KC, he OBVIOUSLY was gonna look horrible, now he is winning, now ''The Raiders are not gonna make the Playoffs'' I suggest you to look at the playoff picture right now...Oakland is winning, they werent looking for those picks as much as other teams because they are one of the youngest teams in the league!
@Mr875336 The Raiders need to get better on the offensive line. They are playing far better than anyone expected, but you can't tell me they couldn't get better...particularly on the right side. I think a lot of their success in pass blocking has been based on Campbell's willingness to run for yards or throw the ball away. I'm worried they could really get exposed now they have Palmer who is a statue.
@stevend24 That's a good point but we would have to see how Palmer does in the pocket, lets not forget Palmer is a true pro and he not going to be a sitting duck and letting himself get sacked.. I credited the RB's (D'mac) for additional QB protection and Hue's play action fake confusing the D-line. I would in the other hand would have like to see those picks go to new CB but like I said expect a trade for pick or players.
They got Russell in the first round and look what happen just BC you have first rounds picks doesn't guarantee that the players are going to succeed in the NFL dumb ass!! Plus this raiders team has had great success getting good players late.. Jocoby Ford, Moore and lets not forget the Hall Famer Howie Long.. Look at tom Brady Drafted super late and is among the greats QB. Nuff said!!!
I think the moron is this guy!! C'mon the Raiders lost there starting QB Did you think Boller and Pryor were going to lead the the Raiders into the playoffs? If so your idiot!!! and not a very good NFL analyst.. Boller sucks and Pryor is still to green for the team the, Raiders got the best talent they could get to at least try to save the season.. Also I'm sick and tired of hearing "they gave to much for Palmer now they don't have a first round pick"
Carson Palmer may not be as bad as Ben says he is, I think a lot of that has to do with being on the Bengals. And yes, Palmer might be an upgrade for Oakland. But that's because Oakland hasn't had a quarterback since they went to the Super Bowl 10 years ago. There's no way you give up TWO picks for this guy! Worst trade since the Lions sent Roy Williams to Dallas for their #1 pick, and got Brandon Pettigrew. :-)
@tytsports In summation (wow I sound like a douche saying that) we may never know just how good or bad he is as a QB because he's never had less than a perfect situation around him. Brady is an elite QB, there's no questioning that (well I guess there could be some questioning that), but he's more in line with a Drew Brees or a Carson Palmer than a Manning, Elway, or Young.
@tytsports I couldn't help but notice you didn't address any (ANY) of the issues I talked about. Brady is a product of a system, sure he has a great stat line. Nobody says he doesn't have great stats. The argument is over whether those stats are because of him or because of the situation he's in.
@tytsports let me preface this by repeating what i said earlier, when I say he's overrated I'm not saying he sucks. He's still a top 3 or 5 QB, possibly a hall of fame level qb, but he's not a top-10-of-all-time type player some people hold him up as. Brady is successful cause of the system he's in (look at what even Matt Cassell could do in it). He has the best coach in my lifetime behind him. I hasn't played a single game without a sub-elite O-line protecting him. Damn near every . . .
@hitch4645 . . . play he has a lifetime to throw the ball. I'd love to see how we would perform with an average (let alone bad) o-line in front of him. When he is under consistent pressure (and I can only think of a couple games where this was true, the Giants superbowl is one) he hasn't played that well at all. He's also had the benefit of (until recently) playing with amazing defenses taking some of the pressure off (the three SB winning Ds were ranked 6th, 1st, and 2nd respectively) . . .
@hitch4645 He's overhyped because of his rings, in reality his coaches, his D, his line, and his kicker really won those rings. In his earlier success he was more like Trent Dilfer (with the 2000 Ravens) than a Manning or an Elway. When he did break all the passing records in '07, he did so by running up the score every game. No class. A typical TD play consisted of Moss having two steps on a guy, Brady underthrowing him by three steps, and Moss making a miraculous one handed catch.
@hitch4645 let me preface this by saying I hate brady with a burning passion as a miami dolphins fan, but you are letting your hate of him blind your judgement, Brady has gone through different OC's and has still been elite, he is excellent vs. the blitz, During pre-snap adjustments he reads blitzes for his line and directs them on who to block which deserves credit, and no QB is good when they get sacked, in games where peyton manning gets sacked a lot and has no time to throw he sucks....
@rsty614 Again, I've never said Brady wasnt an excellent, elite QB. I just don't think hes as good as many give him credit for. Right now I'd take Rodgers, (a healthy) Peyton Manning, Brees, and possibly Big Ben (although I'm heavily biased on that last one, so dont take it too seriously) over him. Brady is still a top 5 qb (right now, not all time) and a lock for the hall of fame. I just don't think his name should be put up there with elway, young, marino, manning, etc.
@hitch4645 there is a youtube video titled "Tom Brady 2009 season" which is a highlight of 30 TDs thrown by Brady with no one handed catches made, and him not under throwing any routes to Moss, and about a fourth of them there is pressure in his face, just to show you physical proof. I would do a 180 on the coaching deal, I think BB is over rated way more than Brady is. BB has gained more by having Brady than visa versa, I'll give you two numbers: pre Brady Bellicheck and post brad
@rsty614 I've seen the video a few times and the vast vast majority of times his recievers were wide open and he underthrew them on quite a few occasions. I think you're overvaluing wins too. It's different now, but do you remember how absurdly weak the AFC East has been over the last decade? The Jets until recently were never really better than average, the Bills and the Dolphins have never even been average (again, until very very recently). We're just gonna have to agree to disagree on Bill.
@hitch4645 42-58 up to week 2 of the 2001 season and 135-40 with Brady in the starting line-up (so with that great O-line Drew Bledsoe couldn't get similar results, and Matt Cassel couldn't take them to the playoffs)
Bellicheck is soooo great that he couldn't create a winning record in his first 100 games without brady
@jmarroking not just one game, half a game in which he came in cold, and not knowing any plays in the system and his receivers. At least give him a full game after a few weeks to learn the system!
@cz4r1 hahahaha yea thats original. lol im jk around but as a steeler fan i will say this. carson has said himself kemo is a friend and was not intentionally. how do u stop a diving 325 lb man when your 1 ft away? lol fact the matter is carson had many years in the nfl dude. 3:25 listen to what he says. hits it right on the money! carson is average, in college he was a standout, nfl is a whole new world!
In his prime Carson Palmer was the second best QB in the league (behind Manning). He's a below average starting QB now. Even that tipped INT was partially his fault. He threw it way behind his WR and the guy was just trying to get a hand on it, accidentally tipped it up in the process.
@GonzoDuke When I say he's overrated it doesn't mean he sucks. He's an elite QB he's just not a top-10-of-all-time kind of player like some people hold him up to be. Right now I'd take Rodgers, Brees, and a healthy Manning over him and say he's the 4th best (or 3rd if we're not counting Manning) in the league. When you target one guy (who's almost always open) 20-25 times a game and never have to deal with pressure (cause he's been behind an elite line his whole career) it's hard to be bad.
@hitch4645 Brady overrated? HOLY SHNICKIES I could not disagree with you more Hitch. If you could, list me five good reasons why you think he is overrated.

raiders could have used those picks to get solid offensive linemen or a great tackle, or a great wide receiver. but they'd rather have carson palmer?
pnoozi 4 months ago
@pnoozi Why would raiders want an offensive linemen?
They have a great line now leading the NFL with fewest sacks and there WR are young no need to pick up any more..
I see them letting a WR go for maybe draft choice or trade..
