Debatable. By 1995 the WWF at the time was already starting to get edgier. You had 2 badasses Diesel (Nash) and Razor Ramon (Hall) who did the whole anti-hero, bad attitute, middle finger to authority thing, albeit not literally, before Stone Cold did. The seeds were there SCSA just sent it through the roof.

The nWo should also get a mention too, Nash and Hall took their attitude and embodied the nWo with it. The WWF was dragged into the Attitude era by WCW and the nWo IMO.

I think wrestling is going into stages now. 93 -late 96 was the kid friendly era, 97-2001 was the attitude era. I do believe we are back in the kid friendly era, what with the new PG rating. I feel once the money goes down from the tweens, we will see Attitude era once again only if TNA can fill WCW's shoes and go at Raw head to head, but I fear that wont happen. TNA is making all the mistakes that will kill the brand.
