  • Beautiful Diesel-Electric Locomotive !!!

    ......with personality.

    Excellent tribute !

    Chris

  • LTEX 6552 is a FP45 and its in daily freight operation.

  • Sad old news. FP45 #96 was destroyed in a wreck on Cajon Pass in 1993 along with a F45, a GP60m and a B40-8.

  • fuck millwucke or how ever it is spelled

  • You have put a few F45's in there as well

  • y should fp45s end?

  • Love listneing to their powerplant winding up. Orange Empire has Number 98.

  • Wisconson and Southern and Canadian National own a few F45s. The Canadian National units were from the Wisconsin Central merger. They are stored will be scrapped or sold. The Wisconsin and Southern units are used on their buiseness train and on freights when needed.

  • im surprised BNSF doesnt use them for the geometry and OCS trains

  • Y is it tht f40c's fp45's and sdp40f's all look the same?

  • Enjoyed watching the FP/F45's thru downtown Pasadena and San Bernardino yard. Only one photo of the original 100 series with the small, black Santa Fe lettering. The units looked more elegant and classy with the small lettering. The lettering could have originally been larger. The new units were more "busy" at the top of the cab and have the large red lettering which I considered less attractive than the small black lettering of the first series.

  • Enjoyed your video, awesome locos! Reminded me of 2001 along the WCL in Duplaneville, when the end was near...seemed they were trying to use FP's as much as possible, usually trailing an SD-45. I was rewarded one time with slides and video of an FP-45 leading a Southbound, made my day!

  • Those are good lookin engines! i like 1:31 its cool

  • ATSF FP45 93 rocks! The FP45 is my favorite diesel!

  • excellent! what was that at 1.46

    a subliminal shot? pretty girl.

    love those fp45's .thanks.

  • Never mind, it's an F45, says so at bottom of picture.

  • At 1:25, why is there a warbonnet behind the loco pictured?

  • That would be an EMD unit. In the "Superfleet" scheme. When ATSF dropped passenger service to Amtrak, they change all locomotives (Including the FP45s) to freight services. The yellow and blue scheme was given out to these units. Then, later on, the ATSF decided to breath new life into it's old warbonnet by coming out with the "Superfleet" scheme which appears to be a modern edition of the classic warbonnet.

  • @SantaFebuff Thank you, but I already knew that. Besides, like I said, the loco in the picture is an F45, not an FP45. There is a difference, and that is that the FPs had steam genarators, the F45s did not.

  • The NYS&W also used a couple until recently but these are now also stored. Good tribute to awsome kick ass machine!

  • Isn't the BNSF still using these F-45s in freight consists in the yellow/blue bonnet as SDF-40s?

  • Sadly, no. BNSF retired all F45 as of 2002-2003. the only survivors are at a few railroad museums.

  • I have a HO scale FP45 its a santa fe one Its number is 92.

  • it would have been cool if BNSF kept these fp45 preserved, and running.

  • Absolutely LOVE the pictures!!! Absolutely HATE the song!!! Viva the FP45!!! Death to Big and Rich!!

  • I just can't get over that I CAN'T STAND MILW FP45s whereing Canary Orange Ehh... They look better in Warbonnet! -Brandon

  • AMEN to that, Brandon!

  • @ohiotransit9 Hey. Don't be rude to the old Milwaukee Road.

  • FP45's are BEASTS! Awesome tribute to the most beastly passenger loco ever built!

  • To Me They Look Like Metra's F40-c!

  • lmfao! great music. love the EMD`s

  • what a great song and video!

  • whats the song you used?

  • save a horse, ride a cowboy by big and rich. glad u liked it :D

  • I love it, but you do know some of the pics are F45 not FP45's right? The FP45 is a F45 with a steam generator installed so they can be easily confused.

  • Correct. The P designation of course being for "Passenger." However, since all the initial orders were for passenger service, they all had the steam generators installed. They were taken out when passenger services were taken over by Amtrak effectively making them F45's.

  • Long live the FP45! Long live the museums that have retired FP45's!(also F45's)

  • good one!

  • nice carlos 5 star matarail

  • very nice video Carlos. I love the santa fe fp45's.

  • cool vid for 09

  • This is one of my all time favorite engines. I got 3 HO scale ones from other railways but not Santa Fe. 5 starts deffinetly.

  • Nice video 5*****

  • That was a great first vid of 2009 C!!! I love the FP45!
