  • Is it possible to write iphone apps with QT ? ? ?

  • So when using LGPL license I can't sell software just share it for free?

  • EA uses Qt :)

  • should i be worrrying about Qt gui being not mac-like on mac?

  • What does "modify/change anything in QT framework" and that you have to "share it to the rest of the world"?

I hope it don't mean that every program i make in QT framework will be shared all the time. Does it?

  • my installation stucks in 60%..any idea whats going wrong?it stucks in ''Installing component VCRedist for VS2008''

  • It would be against my better judgement to learn from someone using Internet Explorer.

  • thanks :)

  • I thought it was pronounced as "cutie". C: Well I'll continue calling it "cutie", because it's cuter than "cute".

  • Thank you. :D

  • I've just downloaded Qt but when I clicked the 'Download' tab there was no 'LGPL' or 'Commercial' options it just went straight to the available downloads. Does this mean there is no longer a differentiation between the two?

Also, being as I have the free version, due to the changes we'll presume i have the LGPL version, am I able to sell the programs I create on say the ovi store or does that require a commercial version?

  • Actually it's spelt Qt not QT :)

  • did i need to fluent in c++ before i can use Qt?

  • @slier81 it would help, but it does have bindings to Python and Java

  • @VoidRealms

ya i know but python white sensitive and java with it intermediate byte code does annoy me

    btw thx for ur explaination

  • i have installed the elipse and eclipse SDk for the QT(LGPL version), looking for the next tutorial

  • I love your tutorials - please make a few tuts on using classes, functions and events etc. thanks.

  • I still don't understand much of this LGPL vs Commercial stuff...

Can I create software and SELL it with the LGPL version of Qt (without paying nokia anything)? Yes or No please?

  • @iRouRoui Yes.

  • Errata (from offical Qt forums):

You can develop “Commercial” software (i.e. closed source, not free-as-in-beer) even with the LGPL. But you’re right on insisting on what the biggest difference is (if you modify Qt you have to share the modifications).
