It was a female cougar. There is a den along the south bank of the North Canadian river. She has been there for years. The ODWC allegedly released the cats to help control the deer population in certain areas of the state. Of course the ODWC will never admit to this. But the ones that were killed, by farmers, all had radio tags. At one time, regardless of the situation, these cats were illegal to kill for any reason. Now, they can be if they pose a treat to life or lively hood.

I live in Virginia near the mountains and coyotes are terrible here and they will stalk your small animals and even come up on your porches and snatch your dogs and cats right off them. Another reason to believe it's a coyote is because they eat everything leaving no evidence such as hair bones ect....They eat it all...When they poop then you can see the hair and small bones...

cougars are common in oklahoma. when i was young i saw a solid white albino one stalking some calves one day while i was fishing. i heard the cows cutting up and i looked over the pond damn and about 100 yards away i saw it. it was way to big to be a coyote and to muscular. and it was creaping along like you see them lions on wild kingdom looking for a antelope. they say its like one in so many million you see a albino cougar. this was in the 70s weird huh? godbless.

I got a dog that was 1/2 Wolf and 1/2 German Shepard from the pound years ago. I raised it from a pup. It grew up to be 235 lbs and from head to end of tail got to be almost 7 ft long. It wouldn't stop growing & It HATED other dogs. I kept it on a 1.5" link log chain in my back yard. One day it broke the chain & went to my neighbors yard & pick up their dog by the neck & shook it and killed it so I had it put down.

Perhaps the Tiger Safari (approx. 1 mile south) of Ramona's property could have attracted a cougar. The pheromone's of the other felines at the Safari could have lured a cougar from the river bottom just north of Tuttle.
