.. Video is wrong, engine head ports weren't enlarged for the Pantera... ports and valves on 351C were already way too big for a street 351" engine... they worked best at 7,000 - 9,000 RPMs... also, Ford put tiny 4bbl. carb.s, small cams, and restrictive iron exhaust manifolds on some engines back then to limit their stock power for the street/insurance companies... simply a bigger carb., cam, and headers put the 351C way over 400HP easily... those buyers 'in the know' knew that... Vette less$
They couldn't get anymore than 310 horsepower out of the 351C back then? Even Boss Mustangs had 330 hp. I would have thought go big or go home and have added extra aggressive camshafts and added 4 valve heads DOHC to get close to or more than 400 hp and make it one of the best supercars of the time and better than the Corvette.
im soooo close to buying one. All i have to do is sell my 93 Mustang for $11,000, take $10,000-12000 out of one of my accounts then finance around $8-10K then i will be buying one. Anyone looking for a 1993 lx 5.0? :)
You know Elvis owned one of these things and one day he went to start it up and drive it but it wouldn't start. Sooo, Mr. Presley proceeded to grab his 45 and he put a couple of bullet holes in the damn car. Id say he gave it a good funeral.

No they did not "blow up" at 160mph.
Max speed was about 150 to 160 as the front end would lift from the air and steering would be light..
Front spoiler and suspension changes would allow it to hit 180mph

I heard these things blew up once they hit 160mph.

@BlackTransAmdude They did a few years ago. The Ford GT. A true mid-engined supercar.

I saw it at a museum. I don't think he killed it quite like he may have intended.
