Becoming a musician no longer takes talent. It doesn't require anything but looks. Hell, you could sing bad enough to make people vomit, and it wouldn't matter because of the technology today, and a shitload of editing. You didn't have to be good looking in the 80's, because people loved you for you music, for the ability to create god-like noises with a guitar, to actually be able to sing, to hit amazing bass riffs, to play keyboard arpeggios, and triple-kick with ease. Real music...

@calastiur Their older albums had a bit of a thrash feel too. The only thing I consider really power metal about the current Grave Digger is the power metal chorus in most of the songs. There's some power metal to it, but it's a lot more speed.

@calastiur I keep seeing all these dragonforce haters on all the power metal videos I'm checking out. I don't get it. Dragonforce is amazing. I'm mainly into death, black, folk, progressive metal but I like any metal thats truly talented. I love Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Control Denied, Iced Earth, Heavenly, Gamma Ray. I'm trying to find other power metal that rivals these bands and it's not easy for me. So what if Dragonforce made it big with a video game. Good for them, good for power metal!

@Inngrown I just don't like Dragonforce's style. That kind of fast for the sake of sounding fast thing gets boring easily.

For great power metal I recommend you Virgin Steele. Anything from 1994 until 2000 is absolutely essential power metal. Listen to ''Crown of Glory'' and ''Agony of Shame'' for a good introduction. I hope you'll enjoy it!

@calastiur Yeah this is true,I prefer band's like Grave digger,Iced earth,Astral door's,Tad morose,Graham bonnet in Impelliteri,and the very heavy Sabaton,rather than the new Nocturnal Rites,and Helloween,but I still like some of the high vocal group's too,just not as much.To me Morgana lefay is a good mix of both.
