Beautiful car! I hate the "Anti-V8" P plate law too. I wanted to buy a Pontiac Trans AM 1982-84 with a 305 V8 but then the law came in and I bought an 87 Fiero instead which I am more than happy with. Great Video!

I don't really like the 86 Trans Am's because they were a little down on power the 305 TPI in '85 had 215Hp but in '86 it went from 215 down to 190Hp. But it's still a nice car!

ive got an 86 body, and im putting a V8 305 in it. ive got performance headers for exhaust and ill be using either an eddlebrock or holly carburator. how much horsepower does this sound like?

depends on the year / type of 305 as the 305 throughout the years had between 145hp and 235hp

@Bbdrew Are you smoked? The firebird came with TPI smart guy not TBI. As far as the H.O. goes,its in the cylinder heads. Some had them and some didnt. They are a 64cc combustion chamber which improves compression ratios. BTW a 305 has never, and should never have high output in my opinion. These motors are gay.Not a V-Teck by a long shot but gay none the less.

Uhh, it came with either. The engine options for this particular car would have been:

Base Level: 305 TBI

Option: 305 TPI

A stock firebird's base option would be the 2.8L at the time. But this being a Trans Am, automatically came with the 305TBI.

The only nice thing about the 305 TBI is that they are absolute pure fuckin tanks and will take all kinds of abuse, although they're slow as hell - they'll last forever.

in nsw p plate licence drivers arnt aloud to drive turbo, super gharger unless its a desil,no high performance 6 cylinders or 8 or more cylinders. and no engine mods. my other cars a little 4 cylinder lancer
