C.O.P.S. takes place in the same universe with G.I. Joe, Transformers, Inhumanoids, and Jem. Even though DIC did C.O.P.S. instead of Sunbow. Because one of the cops is a son to Beach Head from G.I. Joe.

there was a short-run comic done at the same time as the toyline and cartoon, but it wasn't based on that. Hasbro usually got comic artists to do the toy designs and animation by DiC/Marvel Animation so there you go
