  • Big Boss sure let him self go after Peace Walker.

  • at 01:00 the prisoner look the arnold schwarzenegger...

  • Cool! This reminds me of Ghost in the Shell.

  • MAN!!! I totally forgot about this show. Thanks for bringing those lost memories back.

  • 7 people got arrested by cops

  • is that morphius in the intro?

  • Classic theme.

  • Volume 1 and 2 of C.O.P.S. can be purchased through Shout! Factory: shoutfactorystore(dot)com

    Please spread the word!

  • Cops one of the best cartoons shows when i was a kid

  • Was it bad that i thought all the crooks were 100 times cooler than the cops when i was a kid? :)

  • I used to love this aswell as thundercats and transformers

  • Ooooooh man.. I remember this show!

  • This show was so ill for its time man... damn

  • damn I had some of these toys lol

  • Haaa demonios pense que nadie se acordaba de esta serie yes yes yes

"Es hora de combatir el crimen"

  • Wasnt the name of this show later changed to Cyber Cops?

  • this was the best of the best

  • OH FUCK!!! this was my show right here nigga

  • I remember watching this show on Sundays at my grandparents house way back when my brother and I were just little kids.

  • C.O.P.S. takes place in the same universe with G.I. Joe, Transformers, Inhumanoids, and Jem. Even though DIC did C.O.P.S. instead of Sunbow. Because one of the cops is a son to Beach Head from G.I. Joe.

  • the have to put this back on TV

  • i know... this show kicked so much ass.

  • Makes me miss the days when Saturday morning cartoons were actually good.

  • i agree, 80's/early 90's cartoons kicked so much ass

  • YESSIREE!!!! I cringe at da CRAP dat we are forced 2 stomach nowadays. :-l

  • B.P. Vest had an awesome voice

  • Im surprised to find out the animation movements in Cops so differs from the cartoons of its season...

    Japanese/Korean animators perhaps?

  • Peter Chun, an american-corean cartoonist, did the show.

  • I would love to see this cartoon get a live action movie and I think Blair Underwood could play a great Bullet Proof!

  • I think it was 1990s, not 1980s.

  • it was in 1988 but there was a re-airing in the 90's called cyber c.o.p.s.

  • this is one of the other best cartoons next to TMNT , Thundercats Transformers and GI JOE and Voltron

  • the animation in this intro is amazing (like many 80s and 90s cartoons). such attention to detail unlike the cartoons these days.

  • B.P. Vest: "it's crime fighting time"

  • so nostalicaaaaaaaaaaaaaa love this intro when whas kid this whas always on the cartoon factory. my dad put me out of bed put me on couch watching transformers and cops mask, when he whas goin to bed again i miss those mornings:DDDDDD

  • I always tend to think of the show's intro as the final episode, I mean think about it, it shows you how Big Boss and his entire gang got surrounded and (presumably) arrested, case closed.

  • Seriously, if they ever made a movie for COPS, I hope the last scene is like this intro.

  • pretty interestin' plot sequence

  • @dom316

If they made a movie of COPS, Lawrence Fishbourne better star in it.

  • That black guy looks like Larance Fishburn. The Bigboss Man could be either Butterbean or Luie Anderson. What do you guys think?

  • If only real law enforcement could be this efficient.

  • or as fun

  • If the GI Joe Movie will fail (and it will), hopefully other studios will turn to this and make AN AWESOME MOVIE OUT OF IT!

  • Yeah that would seriously kick ass.

Well if they dont go f*in it up michael bay style, and stay true to the cartoon series, it would

  • BIG BOSS?!

    METAL GEAR?!

  • fuck the police! lol i MISS THIS SHOW!

  • Me too! :-(

  • I'm sure that slogan, "it's crime-fighting time" was filched from another TV show. Can't remember what it was now...

  • Yeah, they should have had "It's ass-kicking time" as their slogan instead.

  • why is everyone wearing such tight cloths?

  • The animation of the 80's was already awesome.

  • One of the best Shuki Levy themes. If you don't know him, check out his wikipedia - he did the music for every cartoon you ever watched!

  • I just looked him up, and man you weren't kidding.

Cartoons like M.A.S.K., Dinosaucers, The Silver Surfer, Mysterious Cities of Gold, Inspector Gadget, the list just goes on.

Thank you for posting the name ( I would have never know all of those themes came from one person.)

  • You're right! Awesome!

    Shuki Levy it is!

  • this cartoon was the first one i remember that had an ongoing storyline

  • they should show this on cartoon network

  • future time = now.

  • Man, I remember this intro giving me goosebumps when I was a kid. lol Man, those of us that are around 25 or older know all about what REAL cartoons used to be like. *In a crotchety, old voice* Consarn it! You darn kids and your hip-hop music. Always beboping and listening to that Puff-Diggity-Dogg. RAGGLE-FRAGGLE!!! >O lol

  • bout to be 29, trust me Saturday Mornings was like heaven: from 6am to 11am, now everything is stupid fake reality tv

  • meet too. I turn 29 in two weeks. I'd so glad I got to see the 80s early 90s cartoon era.

  • 26 here and Ditto. we had allot of good stuff, stuff that could be enjoyed no matter what your age was.

  • 26 also turn 27 in 5 months. You & zava are so right about it. Man I do miss our era of shows :-(

  • Dude, I turn 27 in in 5 months man. I agree with you so much! Remember saturday morning cartoons? I don't think they have those anymore.

  • Yes I do! Probably not, but there may be a channel in da works 4 it. WE NEED IT, SOCIETY NEEDS IT DESPERATELY! LOL

  • Saturday Morning Cartoons from back in the day was the only reason I ever willingly woke up at 6 am.

  • i used to love this shit as a kid. Snif..

  • Weird. I don't remember the show at all, but I've known that theme tune for years and never knew where it came from.... Mystery solved I guess.

  • I love this cartoon, hoping that in the future the city could get this kind of cops.

In Spanish COPS means: Comando oficial de policias superiores (superior police official comand)

  • SI RECUERDO A ANTIBALAS COMO NO

  • i still remember this show, i just loved how everybody has a specialty and loved the storylines, cheesy at the same time engrossing

  • EMMMMMMMMMMPIRE CCCCCITY!

  • It's criiiiiiiime fighting time! Great show!

  • Wow, I used to LOVE this cartoon! My brother and I would watch it every single afternoon after school.

  • Bulletproof is a dead ringer for Laurence Fishburne.

Mace could be played by Bill Paxton.

  • I kinda thought he looked a little like Mario van Peebles

  • And you know, come to think of it, Hardtop and Bullseye look respectively like Michael J. Fox and Tom Cruise. I'm just saying.

  • I could see this as a live-action movie, with Ving Rhames or Michael Clarke Duncan as "Bulletproof" Vess.

  • now these are cartoons....the good old days when i would wake up to this...

    man the 80's rocked

  • Guess that will be the next Cartoon Show that will be turned into a live action Movie ala G.I. Joe.

  • i like nightshade

  • wow I remember this!!!!

  • i don't remember this cartoon

  • holy crap...I remember this! I was 6 or 7 when this was on!

    Wow....nostalgia!

  • Me too! my brother and I used to LOVE this show!

  • "It's crime fighting time"

How I'll always love that motto.

Does anybody felt the inspiration to become policemen when a watching this?

  • sort of.

  • I always thought the villians were the cool ones in the show. The cops team seemed pretty cookie cutter to me.

  • i bought the dvd box set of this (official) and i thoroughly recommend it. What nostalgia i got watching them.

  • can you pm where I can buy/order the full dvd box set (official)? and is it expensive?

  • head to amazon mate you'll find it there. Its about 40 US dollars, im from the UK though :)

  • I had no idea that there was an animated series based on Cops.

  • classic

  • man, i miss those old cartoons from the 80's! why can't they show more of these on a channel like BOOMERANG?

  • Actually this is early 90s, not 80s.

  • no, actually it aired from Sept. 1988 - Feb. 1989 on CBS...you made me break out my WIKIPEDIA on that one... ^_^

  • Who cares when it came out the show was awesome.

  • It must have hit syndication very soon after. It used to air on an independent by day/Fox network by weekend station. I'll check the WIKI later.

  • I love Peter Chung's design. He also have worked on Aeon Flux and Animatrix. Imagine old "X-Men The Animated Series" done with his help ;-D

  • Holy...! Man I used to love this. I still remember the theme song.

  • well, yeah... the theme song is just "cops" repeated over some beats, very memorable...

  • Man I used to love this when I was younger. Definately one of the best cartoons ever made. 5/5.

  • man I was missing this and I forgot the name of the show, y'know now that I think about it that lady with a brain in the glass thing kinda reminds me of Megavolt from darkwing duck.

  • Cops is animated live and on location with the men and women of law enforcement. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

  • Great show!!!!

  • Fucking Nightshade. She started my red head fetish. Didn't she and Mace have a good guy/bad guy affair? Like Mainframe and Zarana on G.I. Joe?

  • Hell yea she did. She was one of the hottest drawn cartoon woman ever.

  • Yep they got engaged at the end of the show.I don't think they ever showed them getting married.

  • anyone got he mp3 for this

  • he sounds like duke nukem

  • LOOK,if you have never seen the show dont think can accurately judge it just by watching the intro u fucking fags

  • To Whom Might You Be Refering?

    Jerk-Off!

  • The Song/Intro Combination Is Kind'a Like A Soundtrack; Reflecting The In-Show Romantic (And Almost Totally Impossible) Relationship Between Sgt. Colt Howards (A.k.a. "MACE") And Rafaella Diamond (A.k.a. "NIGHTSHADE");

Get It? "Invisible Touch"- cause She's A Thief In The Night (Shade), And She Stole His Heart Too... Wink.. Wink..

  • Try Running Two Of The Following Videos At Sync:

1)Genesis- Invisible Touch Starting At 2:24 Or 2:22.

2)At The Same Time Switch To Cops-Intro(While switching It To Mute Of Course), And Watch Closely What Transpires, And Listen To The Words- It's Uncanny...

  • I don't see anything uncanny about it...

  • It's Not That It's Uncanny, Just Listen To The Words If You Will And Put 1 And 1 Together.. Do I Have To Remind You To Possess Any Meager Level Of Imagination Or Ingenuity... Besides Have You Even Read Both My Comments -Please Do, Take The Time To Realise And Digest Them Before You Just Jump The Gun So Easily Without Doing Your Homeworks First...

  • No offense, but I *did* follow your instructions and still didn't see anything that was that meaningful. The only thing that's a little "odd" is the reference to "take anything she sees" when the woman is stealing stuff. But is that "uncanny"? I don't think so. *shrug* I guess we just have different opinions.

  • Man... If You Are To Dense To Even Know What I'm Talking About It's Not About Different Opinions At All...

Either I Have Been Unsuccessful In Conveying

The Message Properly Or Maybe You Just Don't Know The First Thing About C.O.P.S- The Series; (The Woman Stealing Stuff By The Way Is Rafaella Diamond A.k.a. "Nightshade")

Also Add The Fact Of Your THICK SKULL! :P

  • Wow, lol ... I think you're taking this a little too seriously, dude.

  • Oh.. Please..

I Finally Get A Response To My Comment.. And It Is'nt Even A Constructive One..

Sorry If I'm Being To Judgmental, Or Arrogant..

  • There is also the possibility that you might be taking this too seriously. I don't think Phil Collins was into Cops, either.

  • Man I love COPS!!!!

  • man i wish i could watch it. back in the 90s i was real young and i didn't watch tv that much cause i used to play alot u know? i wish i can watch it on tv with watching it on you tube.

  • I remember this cartoon, I don't think this is from the 80's, more like the early 90's.

  • So, causing massive amounts of damage to the city's infrastructure is okay, as long as you catch the bad guy?

  • YES!

  • If it's a cartoon, sure, as we all know in cartoons all that infrastructure just comes right back after the next scene change. ;)

  • Correct :P

  • YES!

  • lol I noticed someone posted the same exact reply I just did.

  • OMG, i remember watching this all the time. Amazing. Thank you.

  • I just find it amazing that after decade+, I can remember the entire intro song just by hearing a few notes at the beginning. Hmm, I definitely recognize Peter Chung's art style watching this now.

  • Any idea if the reruns are on TV anymore?

  • the anti bullet is a gay pussy = ANTI BALAS ES UN JOTO

  • I hate all that japanese crap where the human have eyes bigger than a dinner plate.

  • well. not in prince of tennis ...... but all the americans cartoons are a legend, and japanimation just a few... P.o.T.

  • You know, the damage that cop did to the overpass probably cost the city way more money than what the escaping crooks put into that duffel bad.

  • COPS!!! Highway ftw!!!

  • this is one of the GREATEST cartoons EVER! not like the crap they have on tv now. thanks so much for posting!

  • Damn that´s kick-ass! Not like that pokefuck and digicrap and all that other stuff where minimonsterhomos jump out of balls, cards and computers. Just plain good old police brutality on cartoons. Damn I miss that time :(

  • Dont we all mate, Dont we all, The 80's are so awesome!

  • Whoo hooo awsome series

  • ahhh another reason why im now such a warped unit due to strange childhood cartoons such as this

  • was this show based on a comic book???

cus it kinda looks like marvel

  • Yes, a series by the same title, but Im not sure of the artist/author

  • there was a short-run comic done at the same time as the toyline and cartoon, but it wasn't based on that. Hasbro usually got comic artists to do the toy designs and animation by DiC/Marvel Animation so there you go

  • Yeah so like,if I don't get a wrist doo-hickey that shoots out handcuffs at my will...these past 2 decades and a half was a total SHAM!

  • Bulletproof is tha man!

  • THIS CARTOON WAS THE SHIT.

  • hi Do you the Cops Clip where woman claims someone is trying to steel her jewels and she gets tickled i think?

  • How I miss da 80's! The music was totally tight man. They should bring these shows back. Maybe everyone should start getting petitions up 2 get these good ones back on da air

  • that was pure 80's

  • That was too sick

  • I feel so old watching that.

  • THE SHIT!!!!

  • Hells Yeah, C.o.p.s was Tight.

  • i fucking LOVED that show, i had the toys and everything, little guns that you could put caps into, woohoo for caps!!

  • One of the best cartoons EVER! And the head of it was a brotha -- bulletproof! ROCK ON! Cartoons back in the day TOTALLY kicked ass over today's cartoons.

  • one of my fav cartoons ever!
