si it's probably suse factory being in a delay because here i can't drop things from folderview in the desktop.. But anyway, as always, impressing features!
I don't think it is possible to drop things in the Desktop anymore. If you want to have an old style Desktop, you'll have to create a folderview the size of the Desktop. But with so many better possibilities arising from the folderview concept, the question is: why would you want to do that? :|

I'm pretty sure they've been available for some time. Except the fancy handle, that is probably KDE 4.2 material.
