Something not many people pay attention to is the lyrics that he uses. He uses actual poetry like lyrics and you can tell he writes it himself because he feels every word of it and this song is absolute proof. Halfway through the song he actually seems like he's in agony almost like he's acting a part and so few people even comprehend such a thing as music anymore. Glad to see they stayed into what it's known as. They may not play as heavy as they used to but every smallest part has purpose.

@Requeium I understand what you are saying. I am a huge fan of Thrice. I am also a huge fan of logic, and your logic is a little bit twisted. One thing doesn't have anything to do with the other, proof of that are singers that sing other people's songs with a hell of a lot of feeling. Or pianists who play classical music for example. Listen to Valentina Lisitsa, she didn't write Beethoven, but plays with such passion that you would cry. They do make their own good compositions though! =D

Wow... this is really different from "The Artist in the Ambulance". Compare this to "Paper Tigers" and "Under a Killing Moon", what a stretch. I have to say Thrice is a very wide ranged group. And I have to admit that changing up your style is risky and theyve pulled it off sucessfully. I guess its just a bit of a shock to see them almost completely change. No more "Stare into the Sun", no more "All thats Left", "Deadbolt", or "Blood Clots and Black Holes". I need my hero music lol.

I remember when I first listened to Thrice. I was a 16 years old kid, and yet I was amazed by the depth of their music, compared to other bands that were on the same sack, if we may. Then, I went growing up and leaving a lot of bands, styles, and thopics behind. But Thrice has remained there, getting older and better, just like wine. I could say that Thrice has grown up with me, but it would be more real to say that Thrice has been a reason for me to grow up.

I love this album in the Lyrics and tone aspect of it all, but i still favor Vheissu most as it wasn't all about the lyrics, but had amazing beat and feel to every song, Not saying beggars doesn't... it just is an entirely differen't feel from vheissu. Easily said, Thrice is versatile and amazing.

Who cares if he's christian, or the whole band? The lyrics are so powerful and moving in a non religious way. They may be from the bible, but the bible is just a book. Thrice aims to express the idea of faith alone, not necessarily in a religion/god/etc. I don't think you have to be religious to enjoy Thrice or this song, as the lyrics aren't necessarily Christian, the music just expresses strong thoughts on humans.

Their lyrics are amazingly poetic and profound. Dustin once said that they did not do what they did for the fans, nor the money, but it was the direction they wanted to go with their music. If you don't like it, don't. Go put Vheissu back on shuffle. But I urge you to open your eyes and ears, and recognize amazing talent when you see it. In Thrice.

You should try seeing the album as a whole. Also, I was thinking about uploading the illusion of safety. But, once I heard this album, I just thought the lyrics and melodies (which are a little melancholic) were just really awesome.
